The first bottling run of 2017 Hibiscus Gose is happening right now! Our take on a nearly extinct German-style sour ale features coriander and sea salt added during the boil and dried hibiscus flowers infused during whirlpooling, lending a vibrant pink hue and tangy, refreshing citrus character.

We're currently shooting for an early April release and will share specific dates as we get closer.

Not in any store. It sold out in just over a day at the brewery. Going to have to find people that bought more than 1 bottle and still have it on hand.

If you'd like to drop by sometime I'd be happy to share a bottle with you.

Changeling Dark Sour Ale Debuts

Category: Beer News

Changeling Dark Sour Ale, our newest Smokestack Series Limited Release beer, debuts in the Greater Kansas City Area this week with other cities to follow soon!
Changeling Dark Sour Ale is an enchanting blend of sour ales aged in whiskey and wine barrels that were inoculated with brettanomyces and lactobacillus. The beer pours a deep ruby color with touches of gold at the edges of the glass. Leading with plum and toasty malt, the flavor transmutes into a soft tartness, with notes of earthiness and funk provided by brettanomyces and a touch of lingering caramel to create a delicate balance.
Component Beers:
Snow & Tell - whiskey barrels - 43%
Snow & Tell - wine barrels - 40%
Dark Saison - whiskey barrels - 10%
Flanders Red/Belgian Blonde - foeder - 5%
Imperial Stout - whiskey barrels - 2%
Aromas of sweet caramel/toffee, raisin and plum give way to notes of lemon and tart cherry punctuated by subtle oak, vanilla and char. The mouthfeel is light and spritzy. Available exclusively in 750 ml bottles, Changeling Dark Sour Ale is an excellent match for aged/smoked cheeses, roasted duck, apple smoked sausage, and beef carbonnade.
Changeling Dark Sour Ale is 7.3 ABV, 20 IBUs and 42 EBC.
- Jeremy Danner, Ambassador Brewer

Boulevard Collaboration 7, created with Creature Comforts & Arizona Wilderness

Boulevard Collaboration 7 debuts in August, a collaboration with Athens, Georgia based Creature Comforts and Gilbert, Arizona’s Arizona Wilderness.
This collaborator series has paired seen the likes of Deschutes Brewery, Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project, Firestone Walker, Cigar City, Ommegang, and Orval. Boulevard Collaboration 7 is the first time a two breweries have been a part of the project at the same time.
The trio is creating a “juicy” lager for this seventh iteration, aged briefly on virgin oak. Juicy is an understating term, thanks to peach puree, lemon zest and riesling chosen to compliment carefully selected Nelson Sauvin, Lemondrop and Hallertau Blanc hops. The malt bill is quite complex too, brewed with pale malt, Sonoran White Wheat, Missouri wheat, honey malt and corn grits.
The finished beer will be bottle conditioned with champagne yeast, producing an effervescent golden lager perfect for the late summer heat. Last year, Arizona Wilderness and Creature Comforts partnered on “Transmission“, a citrus saison.
Boulevard Collaboration 7 will be available in 12 ounce bottles and draft.
Style: Lager (w/ Riesling Juice, Peach Puree, Lemon Zest. Oak Aged.)
Hops: Nelson Sauvin, Lemondrop, Hallertau Blanc
Malts: Pale Malt, Sonoran White Wheat, Missouri Wheat, Honey Malt, Corn Grits
Availability: 12oz Bottles, Draft.
Debut: August, 2017 (Estimated)
6% ABV

Beer is one of the main attractions at Boulevardia, a two-day street festival coming up June 16 and 17 in Kansas City’s Stockyards District. If you go, look for Sparkling Ale, a new collaboration beer from Boulevard Brewing Co. and Piney River Brewing Co. in Bucyrus, Mo. Tammy Ljungblad | tljungblad@kcstar.com This new Boulevard collaboration beer will be available only at Boulevardia

Going to Boulevardia in June? Don’t miss Sparkling Ale, a new beer from Boulevard Brewing Co. that will be sold only at the two-day festival in Kansas City’s Stockyards District.
Sparkling Ale, a golden brew with loads of fizzy carbonation, is a collaboration between Boulevard and Piney River Brewing Co. in Bucyrus, Mo. According to a press release, the “thirst-quenching” beer has “honey-like malt” flavor and a spicy citrus kick from Galena hops.
This isn’t the only “easy-drinking” beer that Boulevard has been brewing recently. American Kolsch, which the brewery added to its core lineup in early 2017, is a golden ale inspired by the light and crisp Kölsch beers traditionally brewed in Cologne, Germany. (Check out our American Kolsch taste-test here)
American Kolsch is available anywhere Boulevard beer is sold, but Sparkling Ale will be sold on the Boulevardia festival grounds and at Taps & Tastes, a craft beer festival from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 17.
A limited number of Taps & Tastes tickets are still available for $85 each at eventbrite.com; general admission tickets cost $20 per day and are not expected to sell out.
Boulevardia typically features craft beer tastings, live music, a shopping area with wares from local companies, carnival rides, food trucks, bike rides and eco-education booths. For more info about what’s new this year, click here.

Brewery: Boulevard Location: Kansas City, MO Name of Beer: Cabernet Cask Beer Style: Imperial Stout ABV: 13.8% Our Thoughts: Boulevard has definitely shown that they're not afraid to get adventurous with their Imperial Stouts. We've seen them add coffee, Aztec chocolate, coconut and tart cherry. Now, they're sailing in almost uncharted waters with their new Cabernet Cask Imperial Stout. This beer sees them using barrels that held Groth Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, then went on to be used to finish Jefferson's Reserve straight bourbon whiskey. Both whiskey AND wine characteristics in beer??!? Inconceivable! This promises to be majestic, luscious and complex, with something for everyone, no matter what your drink of choice is. Look for 750 ml bottles hitting shelves in August, hopefully.
