Autos at ~$300 - KCSR

Looking to get an auto for EDC. Looking for something reasonable in size and not needing it to mall ninja myself out of a fight. Something fairly rugged and proven. Warranty would be nice as well.

Benchmade Lerch Impel
Benchmade Mini Presidio

Those are along the lines of what I'm thinking. Anyone else have any other ideas similar to those?

That little schrade is a great little daily utility auto. I'd grab one of those first and see whatcha think! It also comes a bit bigger in the Smedey.

One thing I wonder is what the State of Missouri considers a switchblade?

Would these and any assisted or automatic knives be considered illegal?

Autos have been legal to carry in MO for a couple of years, and legal in KS for about a year.

Check out the Pro-Tech TR-1, TR-2, TR-3, or TR-4.

The Kershaw Breakout is really low profile and lightweight. Discontinued for a few years, but you can find them for sale on knife forums or occasionally on ebay. The Pro-Tech TR-3 is similar to the Breakout.

Piranha and Paragon make some nice, durable autos too.

btw, gun show this weekend at KCI. Jim Magee will be there. He's always got tons of autos, and he just got back from Blade Show last weekend, so he'll have lots of cool, new stuff.

That's a great choice too! You really can't go wrong with anything from Pro-Tech or Microtech. I prefer side openers from Pro-Tech, and OTF from Microtech.

The only thing slowing me down on it is the carbon fiber. Not a huge fan of that. It would be much classier IMO if it were either a bone, or dark wood insert.

Yeah I agree, protech doesn't have anything like that around that price range.
