Well for what its worth. I like it. Looks like something i could see myself carrying. Beautiful drawing also. I knew you were good from your youtube but man. Seeing it in a professional application, definitely looks killer. Well done and dont give up!

Now I have to go thru the whole process of exclusive rights to each company. Who should I start with? It looks pretty Protech and Microtech, but I was thinking that an auto folder at Spyderco was needed since they discontinued the Citadel. It could be I should try Boker first. I love the Kwaiken.

Is there an opportunity to manufacture it yourself with some startup capital? Could build solidworks model, pick your materials, mass order the blades, send the model off for production and be off! I would love a knife/cuff link/pen set.

It's definitely an option. As busy as I am at the office, I'm afraid I wouldn't have time to chase it all!

Its a cool looking knife.

You don't see many spyderco's where a decent amount of the "spyderco hole" isn't showing for the sake of easy opening. I would say make that knife a flipper.

It's an automatic, that's why the spydie hole is token. The alternate is flipper if they decided not to go full auto.

I haven't, I was hoping for a more mainstream company for many reasons:

More sales based on large brand following
Larger brands are always looking for new designs
Custom makers usually design their own knives

You were probably rejected more due to no past experience, not the actual design. It's going to be like that with every other company out there. They take guys that make their own stuff, only the biggest firms actually have in-house, and all of them were makers prior to this full-time job.

Nice design man. Reminds me of Owen Wood's stuff. If you can get that made, you'd probably make some headway with proper marketing...though tactical is all the rage right now. Art stuff is on the decline at the moment.

I wonder what all I would need to make a prototype? I really have no tools that I would need. Does anyone in KCSR land have the tools and the interest to develop a prototype with me?

Maybe talk to MadDog? I know the knives he makes are very different than yours but he still may have the know how on what you need, where to get, tooling etc etc...

What grip materials would it be, synthetic (plastic or metal) or manufactured (wood).

I would say first step would be building a model of the knife. Then sending it for a one-off prototype in common materials.
