![]() This section on KCSR is more or less "dead" so I thought I would try to pump some life into it.
I have been doing some reading on Laser Jammers recently and it seems each website that sells a brand shows that brand beating out others it head-2-head tests. Is there an unbiased website that does not offer any for sale, but rather just tests them? I normally use Google and then sort it out by "most recent" to get the newest up to date tests from 2014 (tons of info out there from way back in 2011 doesnt apply to today since LEO's are now using newer, improved, different guns). I have seen that several of the newest guns used by LEO's are not "jammable" or at the very least, less effected by Jammers now. Because of this several companies are updating their firmware left and right to try to keep up, and some updates are not working as advertised. So with all of that info out there, where can I go for unbiased test results without being swayed by brand loyalists ? I know some of the "top dogs" are: 1) Laser Interceptor (I don't know the latest firmware #, I think it's 8.1X?) 2) Laser Elite (previously Laser Star, but has undergone a complete change and has 4 diodes) 3) K40 G5 (their newest offering that some say tests very well, and is made in my home town on Elgin, IL if im not mistaken lol) I already purchased another V1 (I wanted a new Escort but read several users are having a "Service Required"/"Maintenance Required" show up on the display just after the 1 year warranty expires). Unfortunately, I already remembered why I sold my first one a couple years ago (same issue of little to no ramp-up/poor range on front, and then super sensative ramp-up/great range from the rear). Same piss poor performance out of this V1 as my previous one, which just confirms my beliefe that anyone who recommends them over another brand is simply just a V1 nut swinger that is too affraid to admit there are better detectors out there and that the basic design of the V1 has been the same since it was released a decade or two ago, with just software updates inbetween.

![]() Yep. My v1. Well actually my 2nd. One now is the same as my 1st. So so range in the front. But amazing range from the rear... I don't get that one.lol
I have been running a laser jammer for the last 10yrs off and on. The best is laser interceptor. Escort dropped their laser shifters and are now carrying laser interceptor.i had a pair of escort zr4 shifters before. They were mediocre at best. I did have some laser veil on my old gto so the whole car was blacked out then they were better. But if your going to buy a set. I would go with laser Interceptor. They run around 600.00 online. You can also go to radardetector.net they have some great info on there. I miss my redline detector. But I missed my arrows on the v1 more. ![]() |

![]() Well I just did some up to date research. You might check Into anti laser. The new priority. It is the only jammer to jam against the new laser ally gun. The laser interceptor doesn't even alert when the laser ally gun is in eccm mode. I think I will save up for the new alp setup.

![]() I never been pulled over. You can tell by a successful jam because he will keep the gun on you until you go past him. I have probably jammed a cop 10 to 15 times. He just keeps the gun on you then when you pass him he will just go to the next car. Atleast that is what they did on me. some people don't like to jam to gun. some just like to get under the speed limit and shut them off. But I just like to see how they would react. but I rarely speed anyways anymore. just about 8 over on the highway is it. Laser light is controlled by the FDA. Not the FCC like radar is, so radar jammers are illegal in all 50 states. So for most states it is legal to run a laser jammer. I think california and oklahoma and a handful of other states their illegal. but in ks and mo. it's legal. if you do get pulled over you can always tell them their parking sensors.

![]() I myself have been considering a jammer. Just repurchased a 9500ix Escort. I wonder why jammers are still legal? They just seem very pricey, and like you said ever evolving.

![]() They are legal in ks and many other states. They are legal in more states then they are illegal in.
Like my earlier post. Laser light is regulated by the fda. Not the fcc. So their not like radar to where you can't interfere/jam radar. But some states did ban them. I believe texas. Oklahoma. California just to name a few. But their legal in ks and missouri.

![]() Just an update. I put a set of laser shifter pros and laser veiled my son's gto about a month ago.
I just ordered my laser shifter pros and I will be putting laser veil on my g8 also. This will be done this next weekend. I will get pics of both cars this weekend. |

![]() Well new update. Overland park now has the dragon eye Lider guns. 2 nights ago the ol laser interceptors didn't make a beep. Just my v1 did. Time to upgrade to the alp sensors. Once I become 750 to 800 richer.

![]() iam not sure how you guys are getting "so-so" coverage from ur v1's? maybe it's a straight shot but when I have mine on I get a hit about a mile up ahead out of sight/over hills if a trooper is shooting his gun. I think it's better up ahead then from behind. but I am moving up from a dinosaur of a cobra detector.

![]() Actually I have picked up laser scatter before a couple of times off my v1. Where the leo has tagged a car next to me before actually hitting me. But it is very rare. I have been running v1's for close to 20 yrs. And yes most of the laser falses I have noticed are from Mazdas and infinitys....
