LOKI Lands RICK AND MORTY's Michael Waldron As Showrunner; How The God Of Mischief Returns Revealed

Tom Hiddleston's Loki was killed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War but a new report from the trades reveals how the God of Mischief will return for his Disney+ series and, no, we're not getting Kid Loki!

Loki has landed a showrunner in the form of Rick and Morty's Michael Waldron. He will write the pilot for Marvel Studios as well as serving as showrunner and executive producer.

Here's the big news, though: despite all those rumours about Tom Hiddleston only narrating the Disney+ series, he will indeed star and The Hollywood Reporter adds that "the show will follow Loki as the trickster and shapeshifter pops up throughout human history as unlikely influencer on historical events."

That's a clever way to "resurrect" the God of Mischief after his death at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and it debunks those rumours about Kid Loki once and for all. Honestly, though, it wouldn't be at all shocking to see him somehow find a way to survive what the Mad Titan did to him.

As of right now, this is the third Marvel TV show on Disney+ that's landed a showrunner as both Scarlet Witch & The Vision and The Falcon & The Winter Soldier have writers attached. Production of them should begin soon as I'm sure Disney will want at least one of them ready for when the online streaming service launches.

LOKI Concept Art Reveals The Disney+ TV Show's Logo And Confirms A Major Plot Detail

The first piece of concept art for Loki was unveiled at a Disney Investor Day yesterday and it reveals a key plot detail about the Marvel Studios series on Disney+. We also have a logo! Check it out...

Loki will presumably be the first Marvel Studios series to arrived on Disney+ and we now have both a logo and concept art. As you can see, it shows Tom Hiddleston's God of Mischief on Earth in 1975 (the years Jaws was released in theaters). This may confirm reports that the Asgardian will be visiting key points in history to manipulate events to his own liking.

The key question here, however, is whether this is a prequel to Thor or a Multiverse tale in which the version of the character we saw in Avengers: Endgame travels through time with the Tesseract. After all, a Loki is alive out there somewhere and it's hard to imagine his story is over.

Either way, with Marvel Studios showing off concept art during this Investor Day for Disney, you have to believe that Comic-Con or D23 will bring more official reveals and that artwork like this could end being officially released. Either way, it's great to see Kevin Feige keeping a close eye on projects like Loki to ensure it's up there with what we see on the big screen.

What do you guys think about this first look at the Disney+ series?

The ‘Loki’ from ‘The Avengers’ Is Back and Still Mischievous As Ever [Comic-Con 2019]

While everyone was mostly focused on what movies Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe would entail, we didn’t think there would be so much announced for the streaming side of the MCU over at Disney+. But Tom Hiddleston came out to the Hall H stage at Comic-con and shared some little tidbits about what fans can expect from the Loki series.
Find out what we learned during the Loki Comic-Con presentation below.
Tom Hiddleston is no stranger to Comic-Con, and he even appeared to the crowd in character as Loki, in full wardrobe, a few years back. This time he was just happy to be there to talk about the new Disney+ series that he’s leading.
Remember how Loki disappeared in the middle of Avengers: Endgame when Tony Stark and Scott Lang messed up the time heist for the Space Stone, aka the Tesseract, back in 2012? Well, that’s the Loki that will be leading this new series, and because of that, he’s not a character who has learned any lessons or softened his heart at all. It’s a regression back to Loki from 2012’s The Avengers. Hiddleston explained:
“Just about the last thing that happened to him was he got Hulk smashed. So there’s a lot of pyshclogical evolution that is still yet to happen. Kevin has generously showed me what his plans are. It’s one of the most exciting creative opportunities I’ve come across. This is new territory, a new world, new challenges I can’t wait to get started.”
Previously we heard the Loki series would take the character back to certain moments in human history “as an unlikely influencer on historical events.” There was even a first look at some concept art that emerged not too long ago with Loki standing in the middle of a metropolitan area in the mid 1970s. So we can expect Loki to traverse time and shake things up in the new timeline branch, and we’re very curious to see if it has any impact on the rest of the MCU.

Marvel Is Bringing Back The Best Loki

Marvel Studios are bringing back the best version of Tom Hiddleston's Loki for their forthcoming Disney Plus TV series. First appearing in 2011's Thor, Loki has experienced one of the most colorful and varied arcs in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. Beginning as a despicable, power-hungry villain willing to sacrifice any amount of peasants to achieve his goal, Loki evolves as a character with each appearance before meeting his demise at the hands of Thanos in the opening scene of Avengers: Infinity War.
Despite this apparent end to the character, Marvel Studios announced that a Loki TV series was set to air as part of Disney's forthcoming in-house streaming service, Disney Plus. Hiddleston will be reprising his role as Thor's adopted brother for the project, which will feature Rick & Morty writer, Michael Waldron, as showrunner. Set to premiere in Spring 2021, an official plot synopsis suggests that the God of Mischief will be causing trouble throughout time and space, influencing key historic moments in his own unmistakable style. Marvel have also confirmed that the version of Loki starring in the Disney Plus series will be the one seen in Avengers: Endgame.

In order to reverse the effects of Thanos' snap, the Avengers stage a time heist in Avengers: Endgame, dipping into various points in the timeline to borrow past versions of the Infinity Stones. Seeking to retrieve the Space Stone, then known as the Tesseract, the heroes travel back to the aftermath of the Battle of New York, as seen in the first Avengers movie. Predictably, not everything goes to plan, as the Tesseract finds its way into the hands of Avengers-era Loki, who promptly uses it to escape. The Loki TV series will follow on from these events.

Building a TV series around the 2012 villainous Loki, rather than the modern day version, is a very wise tactic from Marvel for a number of reasons. Firstly, bad Loki is infinitely more fun than antihero, redeemed Loki. After the events of The Avengers, Loki begins a journey of gradual penance, culminating with the end of Thor: Ragnarok, where the two brothers protect Asgard together from their even more bothersome sibling, Hela. Loki's redemption story is immensely satisfying and an engrossing evolution of the popular MCU character, but is also nowhere near as fun as Loki's time as a genuine baddie.
Avengers-era Loki was unpredictable, menacing and conniving and it was impossible to tell exactly how, when and why he was screwing someone over. Combined with Tom Hiddleston's sublime performance, these qualities are what made Loki a fan-favorite of the MCU in the first place. The MCU is sometimes criticized for the strength of its villains, but Loki was a notable exception, and every bit as important to the franchise as Thor, Iron Man and the other original Avengers, stealing virtually every scene he graced. This appeal diminished somewhat when it became clear to the audience that Loki was no longer a threat, and the villain turned into more of a comedic foil.
Bringing back the Loki of 2012 offers the upcoming TV series a blank slate. As engaging as Loki's redemption arc was, Tom Hiddleston's time in the role came to a natural end after being killed by Thanos, with Loki reaching the peak of his potential virtues and completing his multi-film story. Many fans suspected that Loki survived his scrap against Thanos somehow, but to revisit this version of the character would leave the Loki series no room to develop without undoing the progress already made in previous movies.
By focusing on Loki fresh from the Battle of New York, however, viewers will get to see an alternate path for Hiddleston's famously snarky character, free from the influence of both Thor and Thanos, and this is a far more attractive proposition than watching a reformed Loki in a straight-up protagonist role.

Tom Hiddleston Teases Different Loki For Disney Plus

Perhaps adding fuel to all the rumors, Tom Hiddleston teases what sounds like a different Loki for the upcoming Marvel Disney Plus series.
While promoting his Broadway debut in Betrayal, Tom Hiddleston fills in EW.com info about Loki.
“It’s very, very exciting because in many ways it’s the character you know, but in a context you’ve never seen him in before. And if I say any more, I’m gonna say too much,” he said. “So that’s what’s so thrilling — there’s so much to explore that I haven’t yet explored. That’s very exciting."
Regarding the rumors, it is rumored that Tom Hiddleston will basically be the narrator for the series as it features different versions of the god of mischief (who has the ability to shape change) as a female Loki, a kid Loki, an LGBT version, and more.

Comic-Con also saw it confirmed that the series will follow the Loki from The Avengers movie when he disappeared with the Tesseract. Tom Hiddleston also seemingly teased different versions of Loki.
“Just about the last thing that happened to him was he got Hulk-smashed. So there’s a lot of psychological evolution that is still yet to happen,” he said at the Marvel Comic-Con panel. “[Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige] has generally shown me what his plans are. I can’t tell you any of them, but it is one of the most exciting creative opportunities I think I’ve ever come across. This is new territory, a new world, new challenges, and I cannot wait to get started.”

Loki Plot Details for Disney+ Reportedly Revealed

We're about to enter a new era in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the events of Avengers: Endgame have set up a multiverse of possibilities for the franchise. And while many of these adventures will continue to take place on the big screen, we're also excited to see the franchise officially expand to limited series on the Disney+ streaming platform, including a series focused on the God of Mischief.
Rumblings were heard about the series, but Loki was officially announced at the Disney+ launch event earlier this year. And now we have a good idea about what could take place on the show according to a new rumor.
The fan site MCU Cosmic states that production sources are confirming that the show will show Loki adventuring throughout the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe — the new piece of information indicates that the character will be willingly altering events, wreaking havoc on the history in his journey.
This makes sense considering Loki has yet to be rehabilitated at this point in his life, having just been defeated by his brother and those pesky Avengers when he was at his most petulant. It takes the death of his mother and father and a few team ups with Thor before he finally starts to accepting his heroic side.
But while he'll be doing his best to screw up history, the events of Avengers: Endgame established that he won't be hurting the time stream in the MCU — instead, he'll be creating a whole new series of alternate realities with his actions.
It's also worth questioning how Loki manages to travel through time, as the character only has the Space Stone when last seen in Avengers: Endgame. But that's something that will likely be answered in the series.
Actor Tom Hiddleston praised the opportunity to get to play the character again in a different medium, but also teased that it would be unlike anything we've seen yet in the franchise.
“It is a constant source of surprise and delight that these films have connected with people,” Hiddleston said. “I knew he was a complex figure. Intelligent yet vulnerable. Angry and lost and broken and witty. I thought it was an amazing opportunity and it’s grown into this network of movies. I could never have expected it.

“Another exciting thing about being at this place at this time and goes back to the amount of characters we have and the amount of stories we could tell... When we announced ten movies and people asked 'Well what about these other things?' the previous stance would be 'We only have a certain number of slots to make movies per year.' That's still true but we have another outlet that I think will be very unique and very special.

Loki Will Reportedly Return For Thor: Love And Thunder

Marvel Studios has long made it clear that their planned Disney Plus shows will have a large amount of overlap with future movies. For example, we already know that 2021’s WandaVision will connect directly to the subsequent Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. What’s more, according to a new report from FandomWire, the upcoming Loki spinoff series will set up a fan-pleasing development in Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder. And if all we’re hearing is true, then be warned that some potential spoilers lie ahead.

As you’ll likely recall, the recent Avengers: Endgame saw an alternate timeline version of Loki escape capture with the Tesseract. Since then, we’ve heard that the trickster’s TV show will be a continuation of this plot thread, as Loki uses the power of the Infinity Stone to travel through human history and change major events.

So far, the details of his small screen adventure are still a little vague, but at the end of the series, it’s said that Loki will use the Tesseract to travel into the main MCU timeline. This ending will apparently lay the groundwork for his appearance in the fourth Thor movie.

What’s interesting about this idea is that it potentially allows for the return of the old, relatively villainous Loki. After all, the alternate timeline version of Thor’s brother never had the redemptive arc of his main timeline counterpart.

Speculation aside, however, we’ll find out what Marvel really has in mind for the trickster when the Loki show comes to Disney Plus in the Spring of 2021. After that, we’ll see how Jane Foster fares as the new Goddess of Thunder when Thor: Love and Thunder hits theaters on November 5th of the same year.

LOKI Star Tom Hiddleston Reveals How Many Episodes The Disney+ Series Will Consist Of

Tom Hiddleston (Thor: Ragnarok) has talked more about the Loki TV series coming to Disney+, and reveals exactly how many episodes it will consist of. Find out more details about that after the jump...

Loki is coming to Disney+ Spring 2021, and Tom Hiddleston has now revealed some more details about the highly anticipated TV series, which it's thought will revolve the 2012 version of the God of Mischief.

During a recent interview, star Tom Hiddleston confirmed that it will consist of six, hour-long episodes. That sounds like a good number, especially as a lot of ten and thirteen episode TV shows come under fire for being too drawn out with too much filler (a common complaint about the Marvel shows on Netflix).

Hiddleston also promised that "There'll be humour in [Loki], for sure. It's funny." He also promised that while the show will kick off with with a villainous version of the God of Mischief, "He's in a whole other set of challenges" by the time the series reaches it end.

"I feel like I know him, I’ve been playing him for 10 years now, and that’s crazy to me. By the time it’s out, I’ll be 40. When I was cast I was 29, which is a great chunk of my life," Hiddleston also reflected. "Playing him, and playing him truthfully, but presenting him with new challenges which then have to change him in different ways is the most exciting aspect of it."

"You have his specific gifts, his intelligence, his treachery, his mischief, his magic, and then seeing him come up against more formidable opponents the like of which he has never seen or known."

Plot details are still under wraps, and we probably won't learn more until next year when production begins. However, it definitely sounds like this could be setting up future stories and it will be interesting to find out what might be in store for the anti-hero/villain moving forward.

‘Loki’ Disney+ Series Brings in Kate Herron to Direct the Time-Hopping God of Mischief

Even though Loki may have died at the beginning of Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel Studios isn’t done playing with Thor’s mischievous adopted brother. Loki is one of several new shows coming to the Disney+ streaming service launching later this year, but it won’t arrive until the spring of 2021. So far, there haven’t been many details revealed about the comic book series focusing on a time-hopping version of Loki from The Avengers in 2012, but that changed today.
Director Kate Herron (Sex Education) has been hired to take the helm of the Loki series at Disney+, a surprising choice since the filmmaker has never tackled anything of this scale. But the array of shorts she’s directed and the television she’s worked on might give us an idea as to how she ended up landing the job.
We don’t know much about the Loki series yet, but what we do know comes from the preceding events of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As Avengers: Endgame showed us, the 2012 version of Loki from The Avengers disappeared in the middle of a disagreement between SHIELD boss Alexander Pierce (Robert Redford) and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes about what should be done with the Tesseract. In the middle of a distraction gone wrong during part of the Avengers’ time heist, a handcuffed Loki was able to grab the cube containing the Time Stone and made a fast getaway, setting the stage for the series to come.
Previously we also heard the Loki series would take the character back to certain moments in human history “as an unlikely influencer on historical events.” There was even a first look at some concept art that emerged not too long ago with Loki standing in the middle of a metropolitan area in the mid 1970s. So we know that Loki will be doing some time-hopping now that he’s back in possession of the Tesseract.
Kate Herron has never tackled anything like this as a director before, but looking back through her shorts and television history, it’s clear she has a penchant for comedy. So it’s likely we’ll see a humorous slant on Loki’s adventures, not unlike what director Taika Waititi did with Thor: Ragnarok. In fact, one of Herron’s short films might give us an idea of how the series could play out:

Loki Working Title Revealed for Marvel Studios Series

It looks like Marvel Studios is gearing up for their first foray into ongoing series as production is set to begin on Loki, bringing the God of Mischief back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after his disappearing act in Avengers: Endgame. While we're still not exactly sure who else will star in the series alongside Tom Hiddleston, or what the show will even be about, we might learn a lot more news soon because the Disney+ series has been given a working title.
According to a new listing in Production Weekly, Loki will be filming under the title of "River Cruise."

Sometimes working titles can offer a hint of what fans can expect in the upcoming films, but Disney is increasingly secretive when it comes to their productions. Avengers: Endgame went under the working title of "Mary Lou," while Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was simply "trIXie", emphasizing the roman numeral IX in reference to the saga's episodic number.

We know that Loki will embark on a journey after acquiring the Tesseract, though it's not clear what threat he'll be facing. Hiddleston himself offered a tease during an interview with MTV News, explaining that the series will challenge Loki in unexpected ways.

"I know this character now. I feel that the audience knows him. And playing him — and playing him truthfully, but presenting him with new challenges, which then I'd have to change him in different ways, is the most exciting aspect of it," said Hiddleston. "You've got his very specific gifts. His intelligence, treachery, his mischief, his magic, and then seeing him come up against more formidable opponents, the like of which he has never seen or known. I wish I could tell you what happens, but I can't."

The actor previously expressed his continued desire to play Loki because of how much the character and the Marvel Cinematic Universe has affected fans.

“It is a constant source of surprise and delight that these films have connected with people,” Hiddleston said to the Hollywood Reporter. “I knew he was a complex figure. Intelligent yet vulnerable. Angry and lost and broken and witty. I thought it was an amazing opportunity and it’s grown into this network of movies. I could never have expected it."

He added, “Another exciting thing about being at this place at this time and goes back to the amount of characters we have and the amount of stories we could tell... When we announced ten movies and people asked 'Well what about these other things?' the previous stance would be 'We only have a certain number of slots to make movies per year.' That's still true but we have another outlet that I think will be very unique and very special.”

LOKI: Tom Hiddleston Promises That The Disney+ TV Series Will Answer These Two Lingering Questions

In a new interview, Avengers: Endgame star Tom Hiddleston promises that the Loki TV series on Disney+ will answer two big questions about the God of Mischief's role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe...

We know that Tom Hiddleston will return for Loki on Disney+, but, beyond that, it's hard to say what comes next for the God of Mischief in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While it's widely believed that the series will follow the 2012 version of the character as he travels through time to change the world to his liking, we still don't know how that will happen.

After all, the Tesseract moves people through space, not time...right?

Well, in the video below, Hiddleston makes it clear that Loki will address some major unanswered questions. "In the years since Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame," said Hiddleston, "two questions I've been asked: Is Loki really dead, and what's Loki doing with that cube?

"This series will answer both those questions," he concludes, surely leading fans to once again speculate about where this series is going to take the fan-favourite villain/anti-hero.

Something went wrong. Please make sure you added the video correctly.

LOKI Will Tie Into DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS

It appears as if Loki's trip through time will come to the attention of the Sorcerer Supreme, while Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige also reveals that we were once going to get a Hawkeye movie...

The launch of Disney+ has changed plans for the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a huge way, as it's given Marvel Studios the opportunity to tell stories they might not have otherwise had the chance to. While it's already been confirmed that WandaVision will tie into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Marvel boss Kevin Feige has now revealed that Loki will as well.

After noting that the Scarlet Witch will be a key character in the Sorcerer Supreme's next solo outing, he confirmed Loki's connection to the sequel. "I’m not sure we’ve actually acknowledged that before," he says. "But it does." This makes sense for a number of reasons, particularly as the signs are all pointing to the God of Mischief travelling through time to alter events to his advantage.

Loki Producer Confirms "Huge Time-Traveling Component"

"Loki is coming to Disney+," Marvel Studios chief creative officer Kevin Feige said at San Diego Comic-Con to announce the highly-anticipated Loki series. It was one of many announcements made on that Saturday evening in July but has remained one of the more mysterious titles. Loki was killed in Avengers: Infinity War as per the Marvel Cinematic Universe's canon but time travel prompted an alternate version of Loki to take the Tesseract from New York City in 2012 and set off on an uncharted adventure. The upcoming Loki series will tell that story -- and time travel will be a big part of it as Feige promises: "We're taking Loki to an entirely new part of the MCU."
On the Expanding The Universe special on Disney+, Loki's executive producers opened up a bit about the upcoming series. It did not offer up any concept are quite like The Falcon and The Winter Soldier or the upcoming Hawkeye shows did but it did provide a bit of intel. "There's a huge time travel component," Loki executive producer Stephen Broussard said. "There will be a man on the run quality to it and we get the chance to explore more human sides of Loki."Loki, a character usually in control of his situations via manipulation or other mischievous means, will see his world flipped upside down by the sound of it. "We're finally going to see him on his back foot," executive producer Kevin Wright added. "This his him, being put in a position where he doesn't have all the answers, and has been thrown a curveball by life."
Of course, the series brings back Loki actor Tom Hiddleston, who shared his excitement for the series at San Diego Comic-Con which was shown on the Disney+ special:."New territory, a new world, and I cannot wait to get started," Hiddleston said.

Variety is reporting that Marvel Studios' upcoming Disney+ series, Loki, has cast relative newcomer Sophia Di Martino in a mysterious role opposite leading man Tom Hiddleston, who will reprise his role as the fan-favorite antihero.

LOKI: The Signs Are Pointing To The God Of Mischief's Disney+ TV Show Getting A Second Season

Work on Loki is only just beginning, but evidence appears to be mounting that plans are already in place for the God of Mischief's story to continue in a second batch of episodes. Read on for details...

Loki is expected to arrive on Disney+ next Spring, but it sounds like Marvel TV Studios is already looking ahead to what comes next. According to a new report, the actors brought on board in both leading and supporting roles have options for a possible second season written into their deals, and while that's a standard practice in television, it could be a sign that more episodes are coming.

It's worth noting that the limited liability company Disney formed for Loki is called "Loki: Limbo Productions I LLC." The inclusion of the "I" (the Roman numeral for the number one) points to this potentially being the first chapter in a much larger story, but time will tell on that front.

Murphy's Multiverse also reports that there have been rumblings behind the scenes about the potential for a second season, so the future is definitely looking bright for the God of Mischief.

If those rumours about the female and kid versions of Loki being introduced are accurate, then a second season could very easily move the spotlight away from Tom Hiddleston's version of the character. Either way, it's becoming clear that Marvel Studios' small screen plans for Disney+ are bigger than any of us could have possibly imagined.

"TVA" stands for Time Variance Authority and Loki has clearly ended up getting on their bad side after using the Tesseract to presumably travel through time and change his final fate.

Marvel Releases New Loki Disney+ Official Synopsis

Of the many Marvel Cinematic Universe television series that will be releasing on Disney+, the insanely popular streaming service that amasses a good deal of movies and television series that Disney has released over the years, fans perhaps have the most questions about the upcoming Loki series. With Tom Hiddleston returning to the titular role, fans are left to wonder which Loki this will be, what the god of mischief will be doing during the series, and just where this black sheep of the Odin family will wind up in the future! Now, Marvel fills fans in on some new details for the series with a brand new official synopsis.

The Official Snyopsis for Loki reads as such:

"In Marvel Studios’ “Loki,” the mercurial villain Loki (Tom Hiddleston) resumes his role as the God of Mischief in a new series that takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.” Kate Herron directs and Michael Waldron is head writer. Debuts on Disney+ next year—2021."

As fans know, Loki was killed during the first minutes of Avengers: Infinity War, with his neck being broken by the Mad Titan Thanos. The Marvel Cinematic Universe, however, wasn't finsihed with the God of Mischief as he re-appeared in Avengers: Endgame, grabbing the Tesseract and teleporting away during the events of the first Avengers film. With the time line seemingly having been changed, Loki and his status are something that has had fans questioning just which version of Tom Hiddleston's character we'll be seeing!

Loki's brother, Thor, wept for his brother, but that isn't stopping him from making a return to the silver screen with Thor: Love And Thunder, which will see Taiki Waiti once again returning to the God of Thunder's world with a movie that will see Jane Foster picking up Mjolnir and becoming the new Thor. With Christian Bale reportedly in talks to join the film, fans are speculating which role he'll play, with many believing he'll take up the reins for either Beta Ray Bill or Gorr the God Butcher, to name a few.

Disney+ Super Bowl Spot Quietly Debuts Two New Loki Logos

During Super Bowl LIV, Marvel Studios released a promo revealing footage of its first crop of TV series bound for Disney+. including The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision and Loki.

The promo was packed with plenty of moments, such as Scarlet Witch's classic comic book costume and Baron Zemo's return. That said, you'd be forgiven if you missed not one but two new logos for Loki, on top of the one we already know.

When the series was officially announced at Comic-Con International in San Diego, it was with an animation of the series' logo, which featured plenty of alternating characters spelling out the title, Loki -- all of which were analyzed by fans. Now, in the Super Bowl Disney+ trailer, we have two new logos, one of which is made up of letters from the original animation.

Loki

After making a quick getaway in Avengers: Endgame, Tom Hiddleston is back as Thor’s step-brother Loki, the god of mischief. Here’s all that Marvel was willing to say about the series:
In Marvel Studios’ “Loki,” the mercurial villain Loki (Tom Hiddleston) resumes his role as the God of Mischief in a new series that takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.” Kate Herron directs and Michael Waldron is head writer. Debuts on Disney+ next year—2021.

Finally, Loki gets just a short tease. Interestingly enough, there are two alternate logos that pop up before the final one appears with the Marvel Studios brand above it. The varied letters are likely used to represent different time periods visually since the show is said to follow Loki as he jumps through time. After that, we only get one single shot of Loki.

Tom Hiddleston playfully and threateningly says just one line, “I’m gonna burn this place to the ground.” What he’s wearing looks like some kind of prison suit, and considering the threat he’s made, it would seem as if Loki is being held against his will somewhere. In fact, this shot just might let us know who is holding him.
The jumpsuit has a logo that says TVA, which probably stands for Time Variance Authority, a group introduced in 1986 in Thor #372. The TVA is an inter-dimensional agency tasked with monitoring and maintaining the multiverse. If something or someone in a timeline becomes too unruly or dangerous and threatens the existence of another timeline, the TVA handles it. It’s their job to stop others from changing the past or future for their own good fortune.
Since Loki is going to be using the Time Stone (or Tesseract) to move through different time periods, it only makes sense that he would garner the attention of the TVA. This would explain why we’ve heard that Loki has some kind of tie-in to the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. This could be a lot of fun, and it might pave the way for the introduction of characters from other timelines, perhaps even the X-Men or the Fantastic Four.
