Thanks guys for the tips on the cheaper headers actually fitting ok. Seems like it's a PIA and mighr as well do a few things at the same time. I had no clue how much a set of longtubes and a cam woke these cars up!

Lol I looked quite a bit. I'm super happy with the purchase.

Bimmertech... not sure how I feel about those... want to dislike them but not sure

Need a paint detail but have never had one. Don't know what to expect.

But really, I just dont drive it enough to justify it right now. I think I've put maybe 3k on it in the past 12 months.

Well, i live in a high risk area. No garage at the moment. Plus, I'll likely need an suv within the next 6 months. It sucks because this is really the first car I've bought with the intention of hanging into for a long time, which is why I did the full exhaust, wheels, tires, etc.

That sucks man. I wouldn't have one without a garage either.

What wheels did you go with? I'll be interested in the part out

Let me see if I can get a straight answer if the LT5 will fit in the C5 chassis. CorvetteForum usually gets all in a tizzy from that question. LOL

No, I actually had the headers and motor mounts done at the same time at DIY. I ran into an issue that the headers didn't fit the corsa that was on there (installed by the previous owner). So then I took to to Stangkillr and they did a reduction. Which was pricey, but I had no other option at that point. Then squishy tuned it there as well. Turned out being way more than I wanted to spend, but I was in too far to do anything else at that point. But the car was night and day with just the mounts, exhaust and tune.

Sounds like a huge pain. Not having a lift makes me think it might not be worth the trouble.

Yeah, DIY was extremely reasonable for the install. I'd recommend upgrading the motor mounts if you do the headers because it's already right there.

It's hard to beat a mid 12 second car that gets 25+ mpg on the highway and is damn near as reliable as a 4 cylinder Honda for under $15k
