Default Decent entry level job

Does anyone know of any decent entry level jobs (ie not mcdonalds)
Looking for a job for my cousin that just moved here from another country. He has experience as a translator for the marines and some goverment subcontracting companies.

Back home he was a doctor but I know that means nothing now that he is here, but if anyone knows of anything that pays well I would appreciate it.

I'd check with local LE agencies, FBI, ATF ect. I think the FBI pays something like $80.00 an hour for translators and with his work history he might be someone that they would like to work with.

I would look for translating jobs. Hospitals, law enforcement, bigger banks, schools, and reaearch larger businesses that work in both areas, you can make bank.

Was he a real doctor or a guy with a white coat? Big difference in training and abilities. Kind of like a pharmacist here and one in Mexico.

Start a translation business. Buddy's ex wife makes 80+k working 3 days a week translating documents. If his 2nd language is halfway in demand, its possible. Most hospitals that I know of hire an agency for liability purposes.

Hmm well the problem right now is that he translates dari and pashto which is no longer in demand with most government jobs now since they are pulling out at the end of this year.

Well he is an official doctor in a third world country lol which does not quite translate over here he knows his stuff but he maybe behind as far as up to date drug knowledge and procedures.

For the time being he needs to stay local in Kansas City till he can get on his feet he has his wife and new born coming over in a couple of months. I know its a long shot for the translating job since he knows english, dari, and pashto. Is there any other jobs that pay well that he can at least build a resume and sustain himself?

Sorry for the late response finals week lol

Also not sure if it makes a difference but he here in a green card until he we get him his citizenship

Tell him to look for a work readiness program in KC. They may be able to help him get back into the medical field, if that's what he wants to do. I've heard of some that help you translate your past degree and help you gain experience in the states in order to get your MD, etc. or, he can consider going into nursing as well.

I would think Dari and Pashto would be highly sought after in the intelligence world.
