Default aux in/USB port low sound volume

In my Cruze when using a phone or mp3 player plugged into the aux in and USB port the volume is very low with radio maxed, and yes I've made sure the volume was turned up all the way on both devices using as music source. Isn't there an in line "amp" or something to increase volume, if so can someone recommend me a decently priced model. Also I have my phone bluetooth linked, turn Bluetooth on when using Pandora but no music plays, is there am additional adapter OE something's needed to make that work? Thanks

only thing I can think of that could cause this, because you don't preamp an aux input on a car and if it was needed chevy would do it oem, is that perhaps one of the wires inside the aux wire is frayed/split/broken/etc.

easy enough to test and almost as easy to fix:
take your phone/ipod/whatever and set it to stereo mode.
turn your car all the way up were you can barely hear it as describes.
then go and adjust the sound to far left on the phone and see if it still plays.
if it plays then do the same thing for the right side.

my guess is that its only playing half the stuff which would cut your output to 25%

as a fix, use a different cord...if its not the cord it could be inside in which case aux cables are three wires - power 1 power 2 and ground...repair whatever's messed up

this is my best guess (I have an aux cable with this problem for my iHome) and experience something similar...it could also have an oe speaker amp (buddies wrx had one) that might not be working right too

if anyone else has any ideas or thinks im wrong Id like to hear some other ideas too! got me stumped

be sure to let us know what you figure out! maybe go check out some cruze forums or a quick google search to see if its common. Good luck!
