Default Organic, fresh produce delivery?

Anyone use one? Anyone heard of any of them in the KC area? Been reading a bunch of blogs that get this service, but they're all outside of KC. I know I can google this stuff, but just wanting to see if anyone had used these services personally.

make sure you let us know how the stuff is. I was looking through their site earlier, a lot of their produce, in-season, is pretty reasonably priced for organic/local. Proteins are a little high though, but thats to be expected with the summer we had

My exact thoughts on that as well. What I REALLY liked about it was that everything they send to you is reusable, and for the tree-huger in me, it made me happy learning that.

I get my first shipment on Thursday.

BTW, I've been hitting up the Paleo Grill down in the old River Market Brewery building. I've had pretty much everything! Love it all. There is a huge difference between their grass-fed and typical processes stuff!

Grass fed beef tastes so much better than feed lot crap.

There was a groupon for this place yesterday so I snagged one. Can't wait to try it.

Looked where? This site?

Costco now carries organic chicken breast, fwiw.

We're gonna finish up the frozen chicken breast we have now and will start purchasing the organic breast from Costco. Lemme know if you wanna come along some time.

the door to door organic, it would be worth it to us if they offered chicken breast. We are ok with the bagged frozen chicken for right now. We talked about going to costco to get bigger bulk of it instead of buying by the pound at walmart.

So far I'm still impressed. I got my 2nd box yesterday and I had them just put everything into a cooler on the porch instead of leaving it in a box. My initial order had 2 bananas, but they left 10 for me and didn't charge extra. I'm also coming to find that organic produce lasts longer than non organic. I got purple potatoes this week... never had purple potatoes so I'm excited to test them out.

Has anyone decided to order this yet? Mine is a "Bitty Box" for $28 a week...

Jeff said the same thing, but you can't deny the quality of the food when it's delivered.

I don't think I'd use everything in the box in a week. I would do bi monthly boxes. Is that an option?

Yep. You can also substitute stuff out. They send you a list of your produce on Fridays by noon so you have all week, up to 24 hrs before your shipment, to make the changes.

I'm thinking about loading up on apples/fruits ect. Things I can grab on the way out the door in the morning for breakfast. Store bought apples last a week if that.

Can you just imagine how much control you could have over someones need to leave the house with something like this. I'd say it's worth the money just in the fact that you wouldn't have to worry about your significant other going to the grocery store unsupervised.

We do shopping on pay days, aldi's quality of produce is a bit lacking and I hate walmart. Bi weekly apples ect would work perfect.

We get the door to door organics delivery and friken love it. The produce is always fresh and beautiful. It's like organic Christmas when you open the box and see all the goodies inside. It's a great service and we plan on keeping our delivery plan for a long time.
