How often do you guys play?

I play 9 holes during the week and 18 on the weekend. Maybe more just depends on time.

What equipment do you guys play with?

My bag:
Titleist 910 D2 9.5* Driver w/ Diamana Stiff shaft
Mizuno F-50 16.5* 4wood
Taylor Made Burner 1.0 irons 4-PW, AW
Scratch 8920 Wedges 52*, 56*, 60*
Odyssey White Hot 2 ball Putter
Bridgestone B-330 Tour S, Srixon Z Star XV, or Titleist V1 ball

Do you have memberships or just pay as you play?

I wish. I have an OP Patron card and am thinking of doing the $30 club member thing.

Where do you like the best? why?

Honestly I have no idea. I just enjoy it. I think it's that each shot can be different.

I'm always looking for someone to golf with. If youre in the OP or independence area and wanna play hit me up. I'll play with anyone as long as you're not annoying.

We got my dad a set of the Taylor Made Burner HT's at Dick's sporting goods which I guess is one of their exclusive sets. I believe they only sell the HT's at Dick's. My dad has improved a lot and has added 20 yds to each iron that he uses now.

He has been playing off and on for the past 3 years or so when he gets a chance. He really hasn't had a lot of time to play at all. Before we got him the new irons, his best score was lower 90's. Just the other day he shot an 88 and gets better each and every time he goes out. Just my .02 for entry level players trying to improve their game. Try the Burner HT's.

HT's are older clubs. Taylor Made also usually makes their clubs longer so that's where your extra yards can come from. Hell my Burners the 7 iron is like a 6.5 iron. It has less loft than most 7 irons.

Helps my father for them to be a bit longer as well. He is 6'2". He absolutely loves them.

Any club can be lengthened too. I'm just saying if his new clubs are longer than his old ones he will see improvements in yards hit.

I would NOT go with graphite clubs. I hit swing mid to upper 90's and have a stiff shaft. I would definitely go with steel Stiff shaft or even extra stiff. IMO. I have the new razorballz driver with a stiff shaft and it's borderline almost not stiff enough.

I'd recommend at least getting on a launch monitor. Golfsmith, Edwin Watts Golf, and Golf Galaxy all have these. Golfsmith has one on their mini driving range for the public to use at any time.

Irons - callaway forged
SW, LW - scratch
Putt - ody 2ball

Fav regular course- creekmoor, bc its close and long

I agree with you on the indian, not the arrow. BUT I was playing with at least 22 year old Titleist irons. I had to completely redo my golf game after I got my irons. I hit all of my irons a good 20-40 yards farther and can actually control them around the green (grooves are there and the club isn't smooth)

I can hit over 300. I'd say I average 275 on a decent day depending on the course. I usually hit 300 yard drive or two per round. I have never met anyone that can hit them all the time. Of course this is the first year that I can actually control my Driver so I'm new to this whole fairway 2nd shot thing, bwahaha.

I would think a 275 avg is still pretty long. My driver SS is ~108mph and i dont think i avg 275; however, my smash factor is poor

I swing in the upper 90's but I can hit it just as far by letting off just a hair and hitting the ball square. Since I bought my new driver I don't slice or hook (for the most part) so I don't lose that distance.

Today I averaged every bit of 275, however you start throwing in the hills of the more challenging courses and it won't be that high. If I hit a drive 250 I start wondering why it's only going that far. I'm not Tiger and am not claiming to be a beast on the tee box by any means.

Long shot here but I fucked up on golfnow.com and booked a wednesday tee time on accident when I meant it for tomorrow. If anyone is interested PM me or post here. Here are the details:

Alvamar Public course.

Lawrence Kansas (nicest course in Lawrence or Topeka)

$25/person (2 spots) for 11:30 AM.

Includes cart and green fees. Usually about a $60 round. Other rounds on golfnow are going for $40, so if you are wanting a tee time for cheap as hell, hit me up ASAP.

Time for an REMIX since everything has changed.

I lied, I can't hit it 300 consistently. 260-300ish is more like it. Screw the score cards and going off them as the tee markers move. Been using golfshot recently and it's a lot more accurate.

I play 2-3 times per week, just depends on what time of the day that I'm at home. If I am home and the woman is at work and the little one is at school, I'm at the golf course.

I just got a RocketballZ driver (9 degree). It is absolute bad assness. It might have given me a few yards but it gives me so much more control. I don't slice it, I do hook a few times a round but that's not the club doing it.
I bought a set of Adams Irons last year and instantly fell in love with them. 5I-Gap Wedge (includes PW). Also have a 56 and 60 degree Taylormade that I love. Have an Odyssey putter.

No memeberships here, Just the great life deal in topeka and hopefully the 5 course deal in KC very soon.

I like any place in KC. I like Alvamar and Eagle Bend because they are within 5 minutes of the house now. Lake Shawnee is pretty nice in Topeka but Village Greens in Ozawkie is a bad ass course too. I like playing new courses. Dub's Dread is in great shape right now. St. Andrew's was nice as hell as well.

I'm sure you swing more in the lower 100's. My SS is in the upper 90's.

WANT TO PLAY...

Just gotta get clubs, i actually was playing last night out at teetering rocks, and my 5 iron head came off the shaft on a clean hit. I still got the ball on the green, but my club is ruined, this just verified the fact that i need new clubs come this weekend!

You can fix it. The club head just needs to be glued back on. I think Golfsmith charges $15

Also for anyone on here I can regrip any club. $1/club if you're interested. You supply the grip.

I'm playing OP at 10:30a on Saturday. I have 2 spots available for the tee time if anyone is interested. One spot is pending.

Not me. I'm man enough to play with a regular shaft club. My swing speed with the driver is right at 100 mph. I can swing faster, but it's out of control.

The other day I was at The Pro Shop trying out some new clubs (it was raining), and some pretty big, tall guy in front of me was trying out all these drivers, every time swinging in the lower 90's. He kept telling his friend that the regular shafts weren't stiff enough for him.
