Default Dolphins accused of racism after Jay Cutler lands Miami Job

https://rollingout.com/2017/08/06/do...er-kaepernick/

Code:
Jay Cutler was once called the “worst quarterback in the NFL,” by NFL star Michael Bennett. In 2016, Rolling Stone, a publication that mostly focuses on music, believed that Cutler was so bad that it published an entire article that explained why Culter should give up on trying to play quarterback.

Although there were arguably worse quarterbacks than Cutler during his days with the Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos, he developed a reputation for being an overpaid quarterback who choked during big games, threw inconsistent passes, missed dozens of games due to injury, and had a bad attitude. There will always be quarterbacks that are statistically subpar in the NFL, but a quarterback can’t be a leader and have a bad attitude. Cutler is known for his indifferent looks and poor body language. A multitude of ex-teammates and coaches have ripped Cutler for his play on the field and attitude off the field.

But even with all that baggage, Cutler will get another chance to shine in the NFL after the Miami Dolphins signed him over Colin Kaepernick. When compared to Kaepernick’s 2016 stats, Cutler threw 4 touchdowns, 5 interceptions and finished with a quarterback rating of 27.8 out of 158.3. In 2016, Kaepernick threw 16 touchdowns, 4 interceptions and finished with a 90.7 quarterback rating. Kaepernick’s attitude in the locker room has also never been questioned by coaches or teammates.

The Dolphins’ signing Cutler over Kaepernick proves that it was a decision that was made due to racism and a lack of compassion for the plight of Blacks in America. Kaepernick’s only issue was that he did not want to stand for the national anthem because of the racial injustices in America. If NFL owners, general managers, and coaches are unwilling to sign Kaepernick because of his views, it proves that they are unwilling to have true empathy for the Black players who make them billions.

There isn’t any logic that would suggest that Culter is anywhere close to being as good as Kaepernick on the football field. But NFL owners would rather side with a subpar quarterback with a bad attitude than to sign a proven quarterback who stands for justice.

Cutler will receive $10 million from the Dolphins.

Not true.

Cutler had a good year under Dolphins coach a couple of years back, and with that existing relationship they know what they are getting.

Well, anyone with a brain knows it's not because of racism.

Not to mention Kapernik had some things to say about Castro that were not taken well by the large Cuban population in Miami. I doubt he would be welcomed with open arms.

Right... we're comparing two pretty shitty Qb's... and there are people who are pegging this to racism. I swear you can't win anymore... someone's going to go bat-shit snowflake... no matter what the topic.

Nobody wants to admit that Kapernick is holding out for a quality starting position that nobody is going to be willing to give to him. He isnt good enough and, yes, he comes with some drama. He isnt good enough to be a franchise player with drama.

Let's also not forget to mention RGIII was over looked as a potential QB. What about him? Why no up roar with him?

He had a totally different type of baggage.

It's not racism, it's politics. He was causing them problems. They don't like that whatever skin color you happen to be.

Yeah, exploding knees arent as flamboyant (or as voluntary) as protesting during games.

You have the right to lose your job for anything, as a google engineer is now learning.

The interesting part about this is, as much as Kap had the right to kneel during the national anthem NFL teams have the right to not hire him.

Freedom is a bitch ain't it?

They are paid to play football, and entertain us. Not use their position to try and advance some social issue. I'm fine with him not getting picked up.

Well, not exactly for anything.

It'll be interesting to see how that plays out. I'll lay money that they guy gets a settlement from Google before it's all said and done. It sounds like he had his ducks in a row and had filed a complaint with the NLRB, and as you have personally pointed out in other threads, an employee has the right to complain about workplace practices without fear of retaliation.

Should be fun to watch.

People need to realize that it is less about play between the lines and more about it being a business. The bottom line, for almost any job, is that it is about money. You could be one of the best at whatever you do, but as soon as you become a distraction, putting your personal beliefs/goals ahead of the organization, and cost them money that they wouldn't otherwise lose out on, you are going to be out on your ass. It doesn't matter what your reason/belief is.

If you are mediocre at what you do, the tolerance is a helluva lot lower.

I have no problem with CK being out of a job in the NFL - and it has nothing to do with his beliefs. I don't believe that was his stage to make a political stance on. That was his employer's time and when you choose to go rogue on company time, you get what you get. I don't think that most fans, the customers in this case, care to mix any type of serious politics and sports. Sports are supposed to be a short term escape for most people to forget about other shit in life. If he wanted out on a Wednesday, on his own time, have at it.

Bingo.

Although it's hilarious that some of the very same people that hate Kap for not standing during the national anthem are the ones screaming their team name over it at the end of it.

I think it's weird as fuck that we sing the National Anthem at every single sports event, in general.

Maybe you can get with Trump and the two of you can collude your asses all the way to becoming Russian citizens if you don't like it.

It is of no surprise that the snowflake generation (that's you) doesn't respect the flag, our national anthem, and the sacrifices that it took so that you could attend that sporting event and have the opportunity to hear said national anthem.

Dont go all triggered alt-right on us. Saying, "whats the point of the anthem?" is hardly akin to turning into a flag burning, soldier hating hippy.

It's a step in that direction.

It's a stupid question, at the very least.

Quite the subjective dismissal. Guess we could talk about the more recent history of the use of the anthems, where they came from and whatnot but based on your replies its more of a religion than a fact-based reasoned response so it would be a pointless discussion.

Apparently, Spike Lee is rallying for him at NFL HQ.

This all seems like 4 people on Tumblr and Twitter said some stupid shit about how it's racist, Sports Media must have had a slow day so they grabbed those 4 posts, and made this a wayyyy bigger deal than it ever actually was. Now people are hopping on the train because they're idiots.

I'm trying to find it, but I read something on dailysnark this morning that said Kap turned down an offer already because he doesn't want back up pay, and he's trying to use the race card to get more money. If this is true, I hope it blows up in his face.
