Wait before you buy any jerseys. The new ones come out in February. Get one of those. Also if you are sitting in the South Stand hang out with my guys in The Boulevard Battery. Check out www.southstandsc.org and find us on facebook.

Yea, i'm definitely waiting for the February release. I would love to join you guys in The Boulevard Battery. I already found the facebook just waiting till its time to crack the beer and start singing! Do you all pre-game with the cauldron or is it a seperate deal?

I've never sat outside of the Cauldron before, over 10 games and i've loved every minute of it. I'm hoping the South stand guys can go hard as well. I only got myself a ticket so i'm definitely hoping to meet some new people out there!

We aren't as hard as the Cauldron but we do our best. Check it out and let us know. We do what we can. We are a mini-Cauldron but still fit the ideals of the South Stand.

Sporting KC enters into affiliation with Orlando City SC

Sporting Kansas City (Major League Soccer) and Orlando City (USL PRO) have entered into a two-year partnership announced on Wednesday, with the Lions becoming the official USL PRO affiliate of Sporting KC. The landmark agreement made by the two clubs kicks off an important stepping stone in the U.S. Soccer pyramid, with MLS reserve players to be integrated into USL PRO play beginning in 2013.
"We are fortunate Orlando City has agreed to partner with us in this new, groundbreaking opportunity. They are a first-class club and this will be a great partnership for both organizations," Sporting Kansas City Manager Peter Vermes said. "It will provide beneficial opportunities for our players to develop within a competitive environment for a tremendous organization and fanbase. Together, our shared vision for this affiliation made it easy for us to enter into the opportunity."
Starting with an announcement earlier today via the two leagues, MLS teams now have the chance to partner with USL PRO clubs. As an official affiliate, Orlando City will retain a minimum of four Sporting KC players for development throughout the USL PRO regular season. Those players would then get playing time, in preparation to be called up by their MLS club. The four reserve players Sporting will send to Orlando for the 2013 season have not yet been announced.
Both clubs are known to be top-level organizations within their respective leagues, making for a logical partnership.
Sporting Kansas City began developing a strong relationship with Orlando City Soccer Club during the team's 2012 pre-season trip to Orlando, where the team will return next month for the 2013 Disney Pro Soccer Classic. The teams met in the Third Round of the 2012 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup at Sporting Park and have remained in regular communication over the last several months foropportunities to develop a more meaningful professional partnership.
In addition to providing loan opportunities for select Sporting Kansas City reserve players, the technical staffs from both teams will pursue several strategic initiatives such as joint coaching seminars, business endeavors, scouting mechanisms and access to facilities. These efforts would strive to be mutually beneficial for both clubs and serve to build upon the foundation that has been established.
"We are excited to begin our partnership with one of the greatest MLS brands, Sporting KC," said Orlando City President Phil Rawlins. "We believe the integration of USL and MLS will go down as an important day in the history of the American soccer pyramid."

Few thoughts this morning:

First and foremost Kei Kamara is leaving. This is a huge blow for the city, not just Sporting KC. Kei is a great guy and def a fan favorite. He accounted for 30% of our scoring/scoring chances in the last few years. I am elated for Kei because much like Roger he gets to follow his dream and play in Europe. I don't know if we will be retaining his rights, we should find out later today.

Second: Last night the USMNT game was atrocious. Basically an all MLS Squad faced off against a very young Canada squad. Total snooze fest. Not really any chances created and did not see much creativity from the Yanks. On a side note though SKC had 3 players get an International Cap which is great. Besler, Zusi and Feilharber all impressed last night which is nice to see. Graham has a solid spot I believe and I think Besler might have helped get himself another shot.

Third: SKC and Orlando City. This is awesome. The guys from OC are great and their fan base is rabid like ours. When the Lions came up last year for the USOC game they were great. The other nice bit is it gives us a chance to let our guys who aren't getting a ton of minutes develop on a squad that has the same standards as us at a lower level. Game speed is huge so this is great for guys like Mikey Lopez and even Dom Dwyer.

All in all this off-season has been nuts and I can't wait for March.

Bro, Feilharber's ball skills were amazing! He will pressure teams so well. Our overlapping runs on the outside with him in the middle will be a great combination!

*yawn* I was prepared to hear 'Boulevard Sporting Park' so it was a let down.

The Kei Kamara deal was sad too.

Thank God. Kei is only on loan until May 6. So he will be playing top flight football for 3 months, then come home to KC and eat Chipotle and hopefully help us murder it for the rest of the season.

EDIT: NCFC have the option to buy Kei's contract. I hope that doesn't happen.

Yeah, I was happy to see that he is just on loan.

It will hurt the first part of the season but we have good players that can step into fill his spot pretty well until he comes back.

Worst case scenario is that Kei goes off with Norwich and they decide to buy him out. It would provide a lot of money to SKC but take away a great player.

This team is so fun to watch as it grows into an elite club. I mean the Wizards were great to watch but they just didnt have much support across the board. Now they are getting a lot of attention.

GAMEDAY C'MON YOU YANKS!!!!!! Today we play Honduras at 3. Game will be on beIN Sports. AOKC will be at Johnny's in P&L. There will be an interesting midfield matchup. I love Roger, but I hope Honduras goes down today. Big game to start the Hex for the USA.

Sunil Gulatti announced that the home Hex games will be at 5 USA sites and 4 at SSS. I have a good feeling our Yanks will be playing at Sporting Park. I would imagine Jamaica or Honduras. If it is Honduars that is a great welcome home to Roger!!!

Really?

On the SKC site when I went to look for tickets it had tickets available down there. Figured id buy them off there if I cant find anyone selling them. 34 each isnt bad.

edit: Just looked, they are $10 cheaper on the Cauldron site. Might get them through there.

Yeah if you want to get in let me or Shannon know and I will see what I can pull with the leaders. Otherwise we can set you up down in the South without any issues.

Well ill have my daughter and wife with me, so south stand might be better. Then again my wife said that the last match they went to my daughter was chanting right along with the crowd and they were sitting just outside the cauldron, lol. She said she was standing the whole time like they were and watching them and doing what they were doing. I thought that was pretty awesome.
