From the games I've heard/watched, they are a pretty good team and IMO a legit top 10 team as of right now.

Like I have said before, this is a good team. I will give credit to Weber at the end of the year if they actually do anything surmountable.

I am a fan of this team. Still not a fan of Weber.

I understand what you're saying, I was just giving you shit that it was the next game that they did the complete opposite of what you guys accused them of doing and saying they couldn't do. It's going to take awhile, it always does when a new coach comes in (unless you have calamari that brings 5 of the top 10 recruits with him)

This is by far the best game they have played all year and they still played terrible the first 10 mins of the second half.

KSU is an historically good basketball school (I know, hard to believe). Wouldnt say spoiled, just trying to get back to where we have been before.

I was actually kinda surprised when I heard the other night that they are 40th on the all time wins list. With more success recently they should start creeping up a bit.

I didn't know that. Kind of surprising. I know they are usually pretty good just didn't think they were that high up on the list.

Your definition and my definition of "historically good" must be way different.

When I think of "historically good" basketball programs, I think of:

KU
Kentucky
North Carolina
Duke
UCLA
Indiana
Louisville
Syracuse
etc, etc.

K-State? HA! More like in the top 40...maybe.

Top 40, while not an elite program, is still nothing to complain about.

I said historically good. I didnt say historically amazing. How many D1 basketball teams are there? Top 40 sounds good to me. K-State was a great basketball school in the 50s and 60s. Just because they havent had much success in my lifetime doesnt make them a historically terrible team.

Jeff Sagarin also ranked KSU #27 in the list of all time basketball programs.

IMO, whatever you are ranked on the all time win list should say how good of a program you are "of all time". I know some schools have been around longer than others but it's still the only way to truly rate a team.

Not exactly. Unless you really think Western Kentucky is the 18th best program of all time.

That logic is flawed but even as a Jayhawk I can admit that, throughout their history, they have been a good program. Its just easy to forget because they had a down decade. But until that slump, back form the 50's to the 70's the won a lot of post-season games and have won or shared a decent number of conference championships.

Most people have such a short memory. They think of Missouri as being the more equal rival in basketball but that is because they had a better more recent decade, but prior to that they were hardly relevant.

Yeah, that period of K-State Basketball from about 1990 - 2005 absolutely killed it's image.

And I refuse to talk shit about something like that because, while I know that Kansas has always been relevant, I know that you are only one bad coaching hire from a few years of mediocrity. We have been spoiled. There is no logical reason that the shift in style of play from Williams and Self shouldn't have caused us to have a few down years during Bill's first few years. I guess technically we did with the two early exits in his first 3 years but most schools would kill for that to count as a "down year."

We may not have as many championships as Kentucky or Duke but we have better records over history, the most stable coaching tree, the most winning season, the most post season wins, etc. Sure, more banners would be nice, but its hard to argue with the fact that you have been able to count on winning 86% of the time over the past 80 years.

Speaking of Kansas and Kstate, does anyone have any tickets they would be willing to sell for the February 11th game at Allen fieldhouse? PM me please.

So Missouri lost. Its obviously going to knock them down a few slots but I don't think it should hurt them to bad. Its a close road game and they have been looking for a reason to put UCLA back in the top 25.

The flop by Pressey at the end was quite hilarious.
