In all fairness this is a middling year for basketball. Nobody really looks untouchable in any league, not even Kansas.

I'm going with "this means the league is much deeper than anyone thought". That's believable, right?

Honestly, Missouri's game was the absolute worst ball handling I have ever witnessed. Horrible passing, sloppy dribbling, etc. Ole Miss created turnovers at will and they weren't even playing good defense. They have a talented scorer, but they aren't that good (as Missouri made them look). Missouri was without its best player in Bowers, but that is no excuse for how wretched their play was. It was honestly embarrassing. I hope they take a good hard look at the game tape and see how their effort embarrassed themselves. If they were Japanese, they would have committed harakiri by now.

Obviously we're not immune either. Temple maybe but Iowa State had no business taking KU to the wire like that. Maybe the first half when they couldn't miss from the 3 point line but not in the second when KU started playing defense. Then the offense went to hell.

I agree and they better start playing better or they will get embarrassed on several occasions. People always play KU tough and no better than they have been the last 2 games, 9 in a row is looking harder and harder to achieve. Road games against KSU, OKST, ISU, UT, OU, BU are all looking like possible losses unless they step their game up. I think they will get back to where they were a month ago but I'm hoping it's sooner than later.

Iowa St is a good team. I see them doing well this year. They'll finish much higher than that 8th place preseason Big 12 spot.

FUCK! I really hope he's alright. The fact that he walked off the court is good news.

Looks like he sprained his ankle pretty bad, but I bet he will be okay. Good news is the next game isn't till Saturday so he has time to let it heal, but not sure he would be ready to play Saturday.

Personally, I'd let him rest awhile longer. Texas sucks and we could use a game without our go to guy to prepare us more for March.

Kansas freshman guard Ben McLemore has a Grade One sprained right ankle and should only miss a few days, KU coach Bill Self said following the Jayhawks' 61-44 victory against Baylor on Monday night.

"I think it scared him as much as anything else," Self said. "He said he heard a pop, but (KU athletic trainer) Bill (Cowgill) said he checked it out, and he probably just has a sprained ankle and with a few days off, he should be OK."

McLemore banged the floor with his hand a few times while rolling in pain at the 2:44 mark of the second half. He walked gingerly under his own power to the locker room.

"I think he's fine ... he's not fine, but he twisted his ankle," Self said. "If we were going to practice tomorrow, I wouldn't let him practice. But I don't know how severe it is. It's probably something that, depending on swelling or whatnot ... I can't make a prediction on how many days he's going to be out, but we're certainly hopeful that it's not more than two or three (days)."

Ankle sprains scare the crap out of me considering my history with them.

He looked to be in some pain laying there. I'd be fine if he missed the Texas game so he can heal up for next week.

This x1000. I sprained my ankle 14 years ago in 4th grade and my left ankle is still the weaker one between the two. Granted I am not sure that it healed properly but it will sometimes still give out on me.

Hopefully Ben will sit the Texas game as stated and will be back in time for KSU.
