DAREDEVIL Season 3 May Be Coming Even Sooner Than We Thought

It's thought that the third season of Daredevil will finally adapt Frank Miller's "Born Again," news which makes the wait torture for fans. Well, the show may be coming back sooner than we thought!

Season two of Daredevil may have failed to stick the landing in its final couple of episodes, but the show's second year still made for great viewing. While it's thought that The Defenders will delve into story elements like The Hand and Elektra, the wait for the Man Without Fear's third season has been torture, but it now appears as if we can expect to see him return in solo action sooner than expected.

During a recent appearance on the "Film and Telly Stuff With Luke And Al" radio show, Charlie Cox revealed that "I do that later in the year. We’ll go back and do that." That means we can expect to see Daredevil back on Netflix in 2018, something which makes sense given its popularity and the fact the first two seasons are among the biggest shows to have ever launched on the online streaming service

DAREDEVIL Season 3 Character Breakdown May Suggest That One Of The Villains Will Be Sin Eater

A breakdown for a new series regular character for the third season of Marvel & Netflix's Daredevil has been revealed, and it may just confirm that Sin Eater is going to be introduced. See what you think.

Is Sin Eater going to be introduced in season 3 of Daredevil? That's what That Hashtag Show believe based on the character breakdown below, anyway.

In the comics, Stanley Carter starts out as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who is given enhanced strength and stamina before ending up as an NYPD cop. When his partner is killed, Carter dons a mask and sets about exacting justice against those he feels have abused their power or authority in some way. Unlike The Man Without Fear, however, Sin Eater doesn't leave his victims breathing.

The description for "Steve" could certainly match a small-screen take on this character, but until we find out more we'll have to take it as pure speculation.

What do you guys think? Sound off in the usual place. Daredevil season 3 is set to kick-off production next month.
[STEVE] 28-35, 5’9-6’1, Open ethnicity. An athletic but socially awkward FBI Agent, needs structure and rules to suppress the darkness inside himself. Athletic with medium build, responsible and resourceful, hair trigger temper. SERIES REGULAR

DAREDEVIL Season 3 Is Bringing Back Vincent D’Onofrio As The Kingpin; New Showrunner Appointed

Big changes are on the horizon for Daredevil's upcoming third season as it's been revealed that Vincent D’Onofrio will make his return as Wilson Fisk. Meanwhile, a new showrunner has also been appointed.

There have been rumblings for a while now that the upcoming third season of Daredevil will adapt the "Born Again" storyline and that's pretty much confirmed with the news that Vincent D’Onofrio will be reprising the role of Wilson Fisk. We still don't have a premiere date but this is a good sign that work has started on the Netflix series and that's emphasised by the addition of a brand new showrunner.

Erik Oleson is set to take over from Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez, news which probably shouldn't come as a surprise after they took charge of The Defenders, a series which received an underwhelming response from fans and critics alike. He served as an executive producer and writer on Amazon's The Man in the High Castle and spent a fair bit of time working on superhero show Arrow for The CW too.

"Vincent is an exceptional actor who returns with the incredible gravitas he brings to Fisk," executive producer and Marvel TV chief Jeph Loeb said in a statement today. "We’re very excited how Marvel’s Daredevil develops through the creative lens and guidance of our new showrunner, Erik Oleson." Are you excited for The Man Without Fear's return to Netflix? Share your thoughts in the usual place.

This was pretty much confirmed with the ending of The Defenders. It's going to be awesome seeing Karen Page all fucking strung out and a porno star. Plus we will likely see Nuke, from Jessica Jones cross over since he was a part of that story arc as well. The only thing you know they will omit from the storyarc, is Captain America helping out in the end. Would be cool though if they put him in there.

DAREDEVIL Season 3 Adds HART OF DIXIE Actor Wilson Bethel In A "Critical" Role - Is He Playing Sin-Eater?

Here we have our first bit of major casting news for the upcoming third season of Marvel and Netflix's Daredevil. Hart of Dixie actor Wilson Bethel has joined the show in a mysterious but "critical" role.

According to Variety, Wilson Bethel (Hart of Dixie, The Young and the Restless) has joined the cast of Daredevil season 3. The name of the character he'll be playing is under wraps for now, but we do know that "he will portray an FBI agent who will play a critical role in the conflict between Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk."

A recent leaked character description for the upcoming season led to speculation that the villainous Sin-Eater, a.k.a. Stanley Carter, would be making his debut, and this report does seem to suggest that this is who Bethel might be playing. Then again, this FBI agent may not be an established Marvel Comics character at all.

We'll update as soon as we know more, but for now be sure to share your thoughts on this casting news in the usual place.

Vincent D’Onofrio Says Kingpin Will "Blow Fans Away" In DAREDEVIL Season 3

Vincent D'Onofrio teases his role as Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, in the upcoming season of Marvel's Daredevil on Netflix. Though he couldn't reveal much, see what the actor had to say about Season 3.

Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, is returning in Daredevil Season 3, and in a new interview with Collider the actor shed some light on his character's return.

When asked how his character and the script for Season 3 compares to previous seasons of Daredevil, D'Onofrio said, "It’s hard to top the first season, with Steven DeKnight’s writing, but Erik Oleson [the new showrunner] is a very good writer. I’ve shot some pretty cool scenes, so far. It’s different, but it’s very Fisk. It’s still very emotional. The character is evolving. His whole deal is based on emotion, so we’re taking him down that role further."

Unfortunately, D'Onofrio couldn't talk too much about the new season and how prison has changed Kingpin, but he did tease "there are new focuses and new goals" for the character. "That’s all I can say," he reasoned. "If it was up to me, I would go on and on and on about it because it’s so interesting, but it’s so important to them, for us to keep our mouths shut."

Of course, he was able to slip in one last teaser that'll surely get fans of the show hyped for Season 3. "I can only say that we’re doing things that are just going to blow the fans away," D'Onofrio teased. "We’ve already shot some things that are just going to be neat for the fans. There’s some awesome things that are very much in the history of Fisk and Daredevil, that people have been waiting for. We’ve already put some of that stuff in the can, and there’s a lot more to do. I think they’re gonna be very happy."

'Marvel's Daredevil' Season 3 Adds Joanne Whalley To Cast

The Man Without Fear was last seen bloody and broken at the end of Marvel's The Defenders, teasing that Daredevil's future adventures would honor the "Born Again" storyline. Deadline has reported that Joanne Whalley will star in the upcoming season of Marvel's Daredevil as the Murdock family's matriarch Maggie.

(Photo: Momentum Pictures)
“We are big fans of Joanne’s work and are fortunate that someone of her caliber will be joining our already talented family,” Marvel TV boss and Marvel's Daredevil Executive Producer Jeph Loeb shared.

Whalley joins returning cast members Charlie Cox, Vincent D'Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson. Erik Oleson will serve as showrunner for the upcoming season.
“Joanne is a rare talent and a terrific creative collaborator,” Oleson praised. “Watching her bring her role to life has the writers all pinching ourselves.”

Filming for the the upcoming season began last November, yet it's unclear when the show will hit Netflix, with many fans expecting the new episodes to hit before the end of the year.
Season 2 of the series introduced the Punisher and Elektra, yet the upcoming season is slated to bring back Kingpin as the main antagonist. Woll, whose Karen Page was a prominent role in Marvel's The Punisher, hopes we'll get to learn even more about her character in Season 3.

"Really, my favorite thing to work on with the character is that doggedness and pushiness." Woll explained to Collider. "Karen is pushy, and I like that. I like it in a female character because I think it’s a quality that we historically have disliked in women. I think it can be a strength, as well as a weakness. It can be one of those wonderful, complex aspects of her. She won’t let things go, even if it gets her hurt, or if it gets someone else hurt. She’s out there, she’s gonna get the truth, and she can’t stop thinking about it or let it go, and she never will. That’s a really fun part of her personality to play with."

Daredevil Season 3 Artwork Cordially Invites You Into Hell’s Kitchen

The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen leaps into action in this stunning, blood-red artwork for Daredevil season 3.
Initially shared by Marvel chief creative officer, Joe Quesada (h/t Heroic Hollywood), the promotional image features a giant ‘DD’ rooftop sign, which appears to be perched on top of an apartment block in New York City – Hell’s Kitchen, to be specific.
But for Matt Murdock’s visually impaired crusader, it’s just another vantage point from which he’s able to track and monitor NYC’s criminal underbelly, one in which he’ll likely cross paths with Vincent D’Onofrio’s scenery-chewing baddie, Wilson Fisk. Chances are Marvel’s Kingpin will be facing trial when Daredevil season 3 returns to our screens, while earlier set photos hinted at Karen Page’s role in the grand scheme of things.
Beyond that, there are precious few story details currently available for Daredevil‘s third season, other than the fact that’s expected to lift inspiration from Frank Millar’s beloved “Born Again” comic. But as Marvel’s premier Netflix series inches closer and closer to release, this inspired artwork ought to sate your appetite in the meantime.

Behind the scenes, we know Erik Oleson will be taking over as showrunner for Daredevil season 3, which presumably picks up shortly after The Defenders left off, which is to say that Matt Murdock will likely be in the care of Sister Maggie.
The third season of Marvel’s Daredevil has yet to settle on an official release window – all we know is that filming continues on the streets of New York City. Closer to home, Marvel and Netflix are about to herald the return of another Defender: Jessica Jones, whose sophomore installment drops this Thursday, March 8th, just in time for International Women’s Day.

New DAREDEVIL Season 3 Set Photos Seem To Suggest That We'll Be Delving Into Karen Page's Past

As production continues on the third season of Marvel and Netflix's Daredevil, this latest batch of set snaps seem to confirm that Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) will be revisiting her troubled past...

Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page played a significant role throughout the first two seasons of Marvel and Netflix's Daredevil, and it looks like the currently shooting third season may be the character's biggest yet.

Some photos from the Windham, New York set have found their way online (via MCU Exchange), and they confirm that we'll be heading to Karen's fictional hometown of Fagan Corners, Vermont at some point.

Whether Page will actually return there for some reason or it'll be a flashback remains to be seen, but we do know that Karen has some skeletons in her closet (her brother's mysterious death, the other time she fired a gun at someone) that she may decide it's time to address.

Whatever the case may be, if Daredevil season 3 does wind up adapting Frank Miller's Born Again arc, Miss Page is probably not in for a very easy time of it!

REPORT: Daredevil Season 3 Finds the Mark with Bullseye Casting

1

After Hart of Dixie alum Wilson Bethel was added to Season 3 of Daredevil in what was called “a critical role,” a new report claims the actor will portray the mercenary villain Bullseye.
That Hashtag Show reports Bethel’s character named “Steve,” who is an FBI agent, will in fact be the skilled marksman and assassin on the Marvel Netflix series. The site goes on to speculate that Bethel’s Bullseye could be an adaptation of the character from writer Jason Aaron’s run on Punisher MAX, which changed Bulleye’s real name from “Lester” or “Benjamin Pointdexter” to “Sheldon Pendergrass, a highly-skilled mrksman and deadly hand-to-hand combatant.”

Bethel is best known for his role as Wade Kinsella on the CW’s Hart of Dixie, which ran for four seasons. Since then, he has appeared on shows such as The Astronaut Wives Club, Blood & Oil, and How to Get Away with Murder. A character breakdown for his initial casting lead speculation that he’d be playing the original Sin-Eater.
The Defenders‘ closing scenes hinted that the third season of Daredevil could borrow elements from “Born Again,” the seminal story arc in which Kingpin learns Matt Murdock’s secret identity and systematically dismantles his life.

Back In Black

The Defenders, the series that brought together all of Marvel and Netflix’s great superheroes (and also Iron Fist), ended with Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, left for dead in a building explosion. But Matt survived, and when we last saw him, he was being nursed back to health by some nuns – one of whom might be his long-lost-mother. Daredevil season 3 will (presumably) be about Matt getting back in fighting trim and taking up the mantle of Daredevil again. And apparently, when Matt returns to his life of fighting crime, he’s giving up his shiny red Daredevil suit.
Some new set photos have emerged (you can see them here) that reveal actor Charlie Cox wearing the kind-of-cheap-looking black suit he wore for most of the first season of Daredevil. We’ve heard from reliable sources that these scenes are not meant to be flashbacks to the first season, and are indeed new scenes of Matt out on patrol in his old digs. Just why Matt would go back to this suit remains a mystery – perhaps the Daredevil suit was damaged in the explosion from The Defenders. Perhaps Matt wants to get back to basics. We’ll find out for sure when Daredevil season 3 arrives later this year. For now, feel free to speculate wildly.

Vincent D'Onofrio Wraps Filming On DAREDEVIL Season 3 And Teases His Role As The Kingpin

Marvel and Netflix's Daredevil may be currently filming its third season, but Vincent D'Onofrio has finished shooting his scenes as Wilson Fisk and has commemorated the moment by teasing his upcoming role.

Fans of Netflix and Marvel’s Daredevil last saw Matt Murdock’s archenemy The Kingpin in the show’s second season, where the villain was sitting in a prison he had absolute control of.

While it’s still unknown how, or if, the crime lord will manage to find a way out of prison, with Season 3 seemingly adapting the Born Again arc we can expect Vincent D’Onofrio to have a large role.

Fortunately, we are one step closer to seeing what Fisk has in store for The Man Without Fear, as D’Onofrio officially completes filming on the third season. And in honor of this occasion, the actor has released an ominous image over Twitter, teasing his role.

The image is a simple picture of his fist with a red filter that is an obvious nod to his nemesis. Still, while nothing major, the photo teases the possibility of seeing the villain once again use his deadly fists to dole out punishment to some unfortunate souls.

I wrapped on DD last night. What we have coming for you is really something. @Daredevil @netflix

'Daredevil' Star Charlie Cox on Kingpin's Season 3 Return

Daredevil season 3 is on the horizon, and we know that the new season will feature the full return of Wilson Fisk/Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio), who has been locked up ever since the end of season 1.

While sitting down with Collider recently, Daredevil star Charlie Cox wouldn't reveal anything specific (or even general) about what Kingpin's role in season 3 is all about, saying "I don't know what you're talking about." However, Cox would speak a bit about what it's like sharing the screen with D'Onofrio - which we pretty much know he will in season 3:

"Vincent D'Onofrio is a tour de force, huh? I don't know if could say enough good things about him. What's great about Vincent — I always think of the scenes I have with him as requiring very little acting on my part. Because he's so scary as Wilson Fisk, and he's so big, I just know if I learn my lines, when I say them, it's likely to work. Because so much of the acting is done for you just because of what he brings for you to a scene."

Indeed, Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin is a large part of what made Daredevil season 1 such a milestone success for Marvel Studios. Wilson Fisk was also a major standout even in his small cameo role during season 2, owning several jailhouse scenes opposite Cox and Jon Bernthal's Punisher, who are both highly talented character actors in their own right. Since D'Onofrio has rightfully earned his place as one of the most popular Marvel Cinematic Universe villains there is, it's only fitting that he should be one of the most highly-anticipated aspects of season 3.

From what we've been able to gather from castings, set photos, and other sources, Daredevil season 3 will be largely borrowing from famous storylines like "Born Again," and "Guardian Devil". The seasonal arc picks up after The Defenders, with Matt Murdock presumed dead, Daredevil no longer active, and Matt left recuperating in the care of his estranged mother, the nun Sister Maggie (new cast member Joanne Whalley). If "Born Again" is the inspiration, then Wilson Fisk will get out of prison and learn of Daredevil's true identity, wreaking havoc on Matt's life, and those he loves (Karen Page). More recent seasonal hints point to season 3 also introducing Daredevil nemesis Bullseye, who will start as a FBI Agent (Wilson Bethel), only to reveal a sadistically violent dark side. The showdown between Daredevil and Bullseye could be inspired by Kevin Smith's "Guardian Devil" storyline, which would mean some major tragedy striking Matt Murdock's life.

Is Daredevil Season 3 Being Held Back Until After Avengers 4?

Marvel TV didn't tease Daredevil season 3 during their Netflix panel at Comic-Con 2018, which may mean the show won't return until after Avengers 4. This year, Marvel Studios celebrated the 10-year anniversary of the Marvel Cinematic Universe by releasing Avengers: Infinity War. However, the third Avengers film is the first part of a two-part story that will conclude in 2019 with Avengers 4; the ending of Infinity War saw Thanos complete his Infinity Gauntlet and use it to wipe out half the universe.

But until that story arc is concluded in Avengers 4, the MCU is left in a strange state of pause. The only movies to release between Infinity War and Avengers 4 are Ant-Man and the Wasp, which takes place just prior to Thanos' arrival on Earth, and the '90s-set Captain Marvel. Where things get complicated is on the TV side of the MCU. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. referenced the events of Infinity War (on multiple occasions) but didn't deal with Thanos' universe-altering snap. Further, Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb said all currently in production shows are set before Infinity War, meaning they won't have to deal with Thanos' snap. But is Marvel taking it a step farther and holding back a number of TV shows until after Avengers 4 releases?

Marvel TV held a panel for Iron Fist season 2 at Comic-Con International in San Diego this weekend, and while the studio typically teases multiple shows at a big convention, they stuck strictly to Danny Rand's solo series. Although Daredevil season 3 was originally expected to premiere this year following the release of Luke Cage, Iron Fist will release in September instead. Since Iron Fist and Daredevil filmed their seasons around the same time, it's odd that Marvel TV didn't at least mention Daredevil, especially on a stage as big as SDCC.

It's possible the reason for this is Marvel TV wants to hold Daredevil season 3 back until Avengers 4 releases, and Netflix will continue its output of MCU shows after the movie's May release date. After all, that's what Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 6 is doing; it won't premiere until summer 2019 despite filming starting already, so it doesn't need to deal with the Thanos arc until it's completed in Avengers 4. Of course, it makes much more sense for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to be delayed for this reason because that show is far more connected to the film side of the MCU than Marvel's Netflix shows. Those typically only acknowledge the movies in vague terms, like referring to the events of The Avengers simply as "the incident."

Further, it may be that Marvel TV is delaying the promotion of Daredevil season 3 until New York Comic Con, which will be Oct 4-7 this year in New York City. Typically, Netflix only focuses on promoting one Marvel show at a time, even since they upped the number of series they release a year from two to three. And with NYCC being held after the premiere of Iron Fist season 2, it gives Marvel TV a chance to focus solely on Iron Fist at SDCC and Daredevil at NYCC. That may account for why Daredevil wasn't teased at all during the Marvel's Iron Fist panel at SDCC this year.

Still, it's strange that Marvel wouldn't use a big event like Comic-Con to promote any of its upcoming Netflix shows beyond Iron Fist, especially since Daredevil season 3 and The Punisher season 2 have either wrapped or are close to wrapping. Unfortunately, since both Marvel and Netflix keep their plans close to the vest, it's difficult to say what to expect. Daredevil season 3 may premiere later this year or early in 2019, or it may be held until after Avengers 4. Hopefully we'll learn more once Iron Fist returns and the NYCC schedule is revealed.

'Daredevil's Vincent D'Onofrio Teases Return of Kingpin in Season

Daredevil season 3 is one of the most highly-anticipated next entries in the Marvel Netflix Universe - in large part because it will see the full return of Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk / Kingpin. D'Onofrio has teased his return for months now, and is once again giving fans reason to be excited, with this latest post:

The storyline for Daredevil season 3 has been kept under tight wraps, but a combination of confirmed details and rumors paint a pretty good roadmap of where things may be headed. The biggest influences on the season 3 storyline seem to be Frank Miller's classic "Born Again" storyline from the '80s, and Kevin Smith's "Guardian Devil" storyline from the late '90s. The former chronicles Matt Murdock's personal hell, after The Kingpin finally figures out Daredevil's secret identity (thanks to Karen Page), and uses it torment both Matt and Daredevil, in order to break his vigilante nemesis before finally hiring a superpowered hitman to kill him. "Guardian Devil" features a major milestone moment, as Daredevil and his nemesis Bullseye have bloody fight in a church, which results in Karen being murdered.

WILSON

1:27 PM - 25 Jul 2018

Both storylines seems to be at work in season 3, which already has the necessary elements to incorporate both narratives. In addition to Fisk returning for vengeance, season 3 will feature new cast member Joanne Whalley as Matt's estranged mother Sister Maggie, a Catholic nun who figures prominent in both the "Born Again" and "Guardian Devil" storylines. Finally, it's been all but confirmed that actor Wilson Bethel is playing the MCU version of Bullseye, with an origin that's been modified to better fit the "Born Again" story mold.

Whatever the actual storyline turns out to be, the return of Wilson Fisk is reason alone for Marvel fans to expect better things from Daredevil season 3 than they were for season 2. D'Onofrio managed to be a major scene-stealer in his brief cameo during season 2, owning scenes opposite Daredevil actor Charlie Cox, as well as Punisher actor Jon Bernthal. Seeing him in a full seasonal arc again will anchor Daredevil in a way that was sorely missing during season 2, which is good news for both the show, and fans.

Daredevil Season 3 is a 'Return to Form', Says Netflix VP

Netflix VP original content Cindy Holland described Daredevil season 3 as being a "real return to form" during the company's executive session at the TCA press tour. She also explained that The Defenders is the reason why the show's third season has taken longer than normal to finish.

Daredevil season 1 earned near-universal praise when it debuted on Netflix in 2015, as did Jessica Jones' initial season later that year. However, ever since then, it's been a rockier road for the Netflix corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Daredevil season 2 and Luke Cage season 1 were overall well-received, yet criticized for having significant narrative flaws. Then came the mini-franchise's first real misstep with Iron Fist season 1, leading into The Defenders crossover event. Some felt the latter was hurt by its deep connections to the Danny Rand character and his mythology, which was still pretty rough around the edges back then.

Jessica Jones season 2 earned a similarly mixed reception when it premiered earlier this year. However, things have started to change since then on the Marvel/Netflix front. Luke Cage season 2 was better received than season 1 as a whole, and even managed to "fix" the Danny Rand character in many people's eyes. The marketing for Iron First season 2 already suggests the show will be substantially improved in every aspect when it returns (especially, the martial arts choreography) and Holland has assured the press - Deadline included - that Daredevil season 3 will be worth the wait as well.

As Holland explained to Deadline, Daredevil the show was literally shut down, so that Marvel and Netflix could funnel all their resources and time/effort into The Defenders instead. Here is the full explanation that she offered the outlet, concerning Daredevil season 3's delay:

"The biggest issue was the timing of production and launching of The Defenders because what that meant is we had to shut down all of the shows, so all the actors be available for The Defenders so it’s more function of that. There is no problem with this season, I think it’s fantastic, it’s real return to form in my view.”

Early signs indicate that Holland may prove to be right about Daredevil season 3. This season features a new showrunner in Erik Oleson, who has a strong background in the two genres that Daredevil occupies (crime procedural and superhero drama), thanks to his work on CBS' Unforgettable and The CW's Arrow. Season 3 also brings season 1 antagonist Wilson Fisk/Kingpin back into the spotlight, after Vincent D'Onofrio's beloved villain was reduced to a small supporting role during season 2. Last, as The Defenders' ending suggested, this new season will draw inspiration from one of the most celebrated Daredevil comic book series ever: Frank Miller's Born Again.

Iron First season 2 begins streaming through Netflix on Friday, September 7. We will let you know when Daredevil season 3 gets a premiere date.

'Daredevil' Season 3 Confirmed for 2018 Release on Netflix

Even though The Defenders premiered on Netflix in 2017, it sounds like 2018 is the year of the Marvel hero on the streaming service. All four Defenders have now been confirmed for new seasons on Netflix, at some point this year.
The sophomore seasons of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage have already been released onto the service this year, and we've known for some time that Iron Fist Season 2 is on the way this fall. The release of Daredevil's third season has been the mystery of the group, with most people assuming that the installment wouldn't arrive until 2019, given that there already three Marvel/Netflix seasons set for 2018. However, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos put a stop to those rumors, confirming that new episodes of Daredevil will hit the streaming service before the year is out.

Towards the end of the Netflix Q2 earnings video, Sarandos talked about the opportunity to bring back new seasons of beloved Netflix shows in the second half of 2018. Surprisingly, Daredevil's name was a part of that list.
"In the short term, we've got new seasons coming up, in the second half of this year, of Orange is the New Black, Ozark, Iron Fist, Daredevil, Narcos, the finale of House of Cards, the follow-up series to Making a Murderer," Sarandos said.

While this definitely serves as confirmation for the 2018 release of Daredevil Season 3, there has been no indication as to exactly when the episodes would premiere. However, with Iron FistSeason 2 premiering on September 7, it's likely that we won't see Daredevil return until November or December.

So each member of the Defenders will have new episodes of their solo series on Netflix at some point in 2018. The only Marvel/Netflix show that hasn't been confirmed for a release this year is The Punisher, starring Jon Bernthal. A second season of the series has been ordered, and is currently being filmed in New York, but no release date has been announced. Those new episodes, along with the third season of Jessica Jones, will probably debut in 2019.

DAREDEVIL: Matt Murdock Is Born Again In The Chilling Official Teaser For Season 3

In traditional Marvel fashion, the season finale of Iron Fist carried a post-credits tag that offered an intense first look at the return of the Devil of Hell's Kitchen, and he sounds extremely pissed...

Rohan Patel | 9/7/2018 Filed Under: "Daredevil" Source: Marvel/Netflix

While it's no secret that Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) survived his ordeal with Elektra (Élodie Yung) in Marvel's The Defenders, exactly how he survived remains a mystery that has yet-to-be-solved. Luckily, thanks to the newly-released official teaser, it sounds like we'll be getting some major answers on that front before the end of the calendar year.

If you've already finished the second season of Marvel's Iron Fist, then you're probably already well aware that the season finale contained an epic post-credits tag that featured the return of the Devil of Hell's Kitchen, who's now seemingly born again after being rescued by a group of nuns at the tail-end of his last adventure.

However, following his trials and tribulations, it seems that he may finally be done with his Matt Murdock persona as he fully embraces the Devil within to tackle whatever new challenge awaits him in season three.

‘Daredevil’ Season 3 Teaser Trailer Officially Released

Something went wrong. Please make sure you added the video correctly.

Video URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XLA11IlVrs

Marvel and Netflix have officially released the Daredevil season 3 teaser trailer that acted as a tag on the sophomore season of Iron Fist.

The teaser finds a beaten and bloody Daredevil (Charlie Cox), sporting his ninja-like vigilante costume, in a shadowy confessional booth. A heavy bell tolls.

“I once believed that justice could be found in a court of law. And in the light of day. But I was fooling myself,” a weary Murdock says. “Darkness only responds to darkness. And the truth is... I’d rather die as the devil than live as Matt Murdock.”

The third season of Daredevil picks up after crossover mini-series The Defenders — where the blind crimefighter teamed with neighborhood superheroes Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Danny Rand (Finn Jones) — which left Daredevil presumed dead when he and former lover Elektra (Elodie Yung) were engulfed by the cave-in of Midland Circle.

A teaser tag revealed Murdock survived the ordeal, albeit in rough shape, waking up in a nunnery as nuns call for Maggie — a.k.a. Margaret Murdock, Murdock’s mother — to be played by series newcomer Joanne Whalley.
Cox and Whalley are joined by returning stars Deborah Ann-Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Murdock’s law partner Foggy Nelson, and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, the incarcerated Kingpin of crime.

Wilson Bethel, also a newcomer to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a clandestine role, was seemingly confirmed to be playing archfoe Bullseye — one of Daredevil’s deadliest enemies who, in the Marvel Comics, causes the horn-headed superhero repeat grief and forces some of his biggest tragedies.

Cox previously told The Hollywood Reporter the new season will draw inspiration from one of Daredevil’s most famous storylines, ‘Born Again,’ in which the Kingpin, having learned the secret identity of Daredevil, systematically destroy Matt Murdock’s already tattered life. Cox said the season will only be inspired in part by the storyline.

'Daredevil' Star Charlie Cox Teases Another Epic Hallway Fight in Season 3

When Daredevil first premiered on Netflix, it was was praised for its gritty and dark take on the Marvel superhero, bringing a hard edge to the MCU and setting the tone for what came after.

It sounds like Daredevil Season 3 will have a "back to basics" approach when it debuts, as star Charlie Cox recently teased it will pay homage to one of the fan-favorite moments from the first year of the series.
While speaking to Yahoo! about his new film King of Thieves, the Matt Murdock actor revealed the new season would include yet another "hallway fight," but that this scene would be paying homage to the brutal one-take scene in the second episode of the first season.
"The one thing that I am excited about is that we do have a scene in the show that is an homage to the corridor scene from Series One," Cox said. "I'm very excited about the fans to see that."
In that scene, the black-clad Daredevil breaks into a criminal hideout to rescue a kidnapped child, taking out the operatives in a three-minute long fight scene that all takes place in one uninterrupted camera shot.
The scene did a lot to set the tone for the series, showing that the blows Daredevil landed and received would affect the hero moving forward, adding to his vulnerability. Viewers watched the weight of each blow exhaust Daredevil and his enemies, to the point where the vigilante could barely stand toward the end. It makes his rescue of the child at the end that much more satisfying, while other fans marveled at the technical feat of this sequence.
Knowing that Daredevil Season 3 will try to match that should get every fan excited for the new episodes. Plus, there's the return of the Kingpin as Wilson Fisk is set to make a huge mark on the show.

Cox previously spoke to Collider about working with Fisk actor Vincent D'Onofrio, praising the actor's talents in the new series.

"Vincent D'Onofrio is a tour de force, huh? I don't know if could say enough good things about him," said Cox. "What's great about Vincent — I always think of the scenes I have with him as requiring very little acting on my part. Because he's so scary as Wilson Fisk, and he's so big, I just know if I learn my lines, when I say them, it's likely to work. Because so much of the acting is done for you just because of what he brings for you to a scene."

AMY RUTBERG Dishes On What's In Store for DAREDEVIL Season 3

Check out CBM's interview with Amy Rutberg, Daredevil's Marci Stahl, to find out what's in store for the heroes of Hell's Kitchen in the upcoming season of Netflix's Daredevil.

Amy Rutberg, who plays Marci Stahl on Netflix’s Daredevil, took time to speak with me this afternoon about what fans can expect to see from Marvel’s horniest—Marci’s words, not mine—superhero in season three.

Read our interview below (questions are in bold) to find out what’s new in Hell’s Kitchen after the events of The Defenders, when to expect the US release announcement and how Donald Duck almost crashed Vincent D’Onfrio’s Halloween party.

We were all abuzz when it leaked that season three will premier in Thailand on Oct. 19, which kind of has everyone aflutter with anticipation for the US release. Is anyone okay’d to actually speak on the official US release date or is that still murky water?
No, that’s super murky water…was there like a tweet that came out from like Thailand or something?

Netflix Thailand. It may have been a super big accident, but they showed a preview and it said something like: ‘October 19, meet season three!’
If, that is a strong if—IF that was accurate information, that was definitely a mistake! I think it’s safe to say…we know for sure—it’s been said by the president of Netflix—that season three is coming out this year …

And there’s only so many months left in the year, right?
There’s only so many months left in the year, you know, I mean…I think they released a trailer…Daredevil’s Twitter account is starting to release little things. I would say—it’s coming up! This is just my opinion based on how Marvel works…historically, they’ve done these shows every three months, but…we’re getting into the holidays so, maybe, it’ll be sooner. Wouldn’t that be nice?

That would be awesome. Is there anything about it you can tell us that you’re excited to see in season three, particularly with your character?
All I can say is this: coming from season two, which we shot so long ago…when I got the call that Erik Oleson wanted to talk to me, I was crazy frickin’ excited…And with Marvel it’s so secretive and there was no guarantee that Marci would have any part of season three.
But when he called and told me what his plans were, I was over the moon! Because I’m super passionate about this show, and I’m super passionate about Marci. I think she’s so well-written…she’s a complex character. And I love Marci and Foggy’s relationship.

I’m so glad you brought that up, because I love that dynamic and I was planning to ask you about it. Can you give us any hints about the direction that takes in season three?
So…I’m still feeling out how much I can really say about things... But here’s what I can say: …With the end of The Defenders, Daredevil’s dead…So, really, as far as Foggy knows, that’s sort of putting him on his own. And Foggy is working with me at Hogarth, as he was in The Defenders, so the details of their relationship, whether or not that’s as co-workers, or romantic or whether we’re at each other [sic], I don’t think I’m really at liberty to say, but there is a relationship.
I think, the thing with Marci and Foggy, and the thing with Marci [sic]…she’s really kind of a modern woman of today. She’s got some bite, baby. And you have to have bite, but you know what? She loves Foggy, and I’m not afraid to say that. She’s always loved Foggy, there was something about Foggy from law school. Whether they were together, or they were apart, she is always looking out for his best interest.
Whether or not that is actually his best interest, is really of one’s own opinion, but she’s always honest with him...that’s her boy. And I would like to see...him appreciate that, frankly…
To me, that’s…sort of going to be interesting; to see how that unfolds in season three, and whether that’s a friendship, coworkers or as a…legitimate love relationship—I will say that their relationship will be very clear early on in the season.

One of the things I love about Marci is that she knows who she is, and she is absolutely unapologetic about it, and she’s got some of the best lines in the series.
Don’t you think? They do write it for me so well, yes. I have to say.

She’s very sharp and witty and funny. She has some zingers so—what is your favorite line?
There’s a different show runner each season, and the amazing thing is for Marci…I mean, my favorite line is definitely coming up in season three, but the thing they all have in common is they (the writers) are keeping it all very consistent…
Let’s see if I can think of my favorite line…I love it when she does the Jessica Jones reveal—that is my favorite part of season two—and when she says, “You know, the horny one.” And does the thing with the horns…I think that’s so funny, and so Marci.
I can tell you my favorite moment from season two…is when they’re (Foggy and Marci) actually talking about Karen, and I’m not positive if that is season one or season two, but I’m pretty sure it was season two, at the bar…and she says, “Oh, she’s your type.”
She’s sort of hurt, and it’s a dig at him, but there’s a hurt in her eyes that’s really sort of telling about her feelings for him.

Right. I think one of the reasons that she’s so relatable is that she has those undertones. She's a person who, underneath this exterior, is a person that feels, and very deeply and it makes her very human. Whereas, with the DA, Reyes, she’s a super hard ass, and you don’t get to see under the surface, she doesn’t have those chips in her armor.
Marci’s got ethics. Marci does. She’s got ethics, and…I think, you know she might be jealous of Matt, but I think she’s very understanding about the relationship of the two of them, and I think that…it will be interesting to see…if, in fact, Daredevil’s dead…that’s his best friend. So, it’ll be interesting to see how Marci sort of deals with that.

I’m happy to hear that, it sounds like at least, Marci’s role has been a bit expanded in season three, and if there’s any supporting character I’d like to see more of on Daredevil, it’s definitely her.
Put that in your interview—let’s make sure everyone at Marvel hears about that, but yes! I’ve had a lot of fans tell me that, and you know. Look, up until this point I’ve only been in six episodes so it’s quite the compliment to hear that from people.

In part, you can attribute that to the writers, but you do a really great job of bringing her across.
Yeah! And she’s a nice juxtaposition to the other female characters in Daredevil. Which are, frankly, sort of few and far between. I mean, you have Deborah Ann Woll, who in my opinion is one of the best television actresses working today…
But Marci and Karen are clearly very different.

Definitely. Marci comes across as someone with more experience with how to survive in a place like Hell’s Kitchen without losing your humanity entirely. And I think that’s something that Karen is still trying to figure out. Marci is a clearer example of how you can still be human, but also hardened.
And you know, Karen’s got secrets. I’m not sure…Marci doesn’t have those type of secrets…it’s going to be interesting to see how they develop that. I’m looking forward to it and, God-willing, there will be a season four.

For sure. I wanted to ask you, you appeared on The Defenders last year and, at one point in Daredevil, your character mentioned Jessica Jones and brought her into that world. All of these Netflix-produced Marvel titles tie into each other—which, I don’t’ know why I was surprised, maybe it’s the way it takes so long for stories to merge cinematically—but I was pleasantly surprised that, almost immediately, all of these stories began to tie together & characters were crossing over between titles. Where do you think she will, or where do you want Marci to show up next?
I would love for her to show up in Jessica Jones, I mean. I would love for that to happen. That has not come up yet, but that’s not to say that it’s not gonna [sic] come up tomorrow. And…if it had come up I couldn’t really say anyway. But, yeah, I would love to see Marci make an appearance in Jessica Jones…I think that would be a pretty logical next step.

Well you never know. We know Marvel is very secretive…
Well, that’s very, very true and that was definitely the case with season one and season two. I didn’t even get full scripts, I didn’t even know what was going on, Elden (Henson) would have to fill me in...
But for season three, I was a lot more in the loop and that felt great…to know what’s going on and feel like I’m closer to that…closer to the family. And I think a lot of that has to do with Erik Oleson. He’s just a genius, and he’s a hell of a nice guy, and working for Marvel cannot be easy, but he has made it seem like it is.
So, hopefully that’s gonna [sic] be a long relationship, between Erik and Marvel.

Absolutely. And, switching gears here slightly, talking about season three, what would you say your favorite day on set was? You don’t have to say what you were doing or who you were with, but what was your favorite day on set?
I have a favorite scene. And it’s an early scene. But I would have to say my favorite day on set, was when there were many characters involved. Because up until this point, Marci’s screen time has mostly been with Foggy…but there is a moment at some point in season three where there is more interaction with the greater cast [sic]. To get a chance to see some of them work…to see them do their thing was a great joy…
There is a scene in season three that, from a technical standpoint, is going to blow everyone’s mind and is going to be something I don’t think has ever been done in television history.
And that’s all I can say. But trust me, when you watch it…everyone’s gonna [sic] know what I’m talking about. Because when we read the script, that’s all we were talking about: ‘How are they going to pull this off?’

I’m really looking forward to this new season. Especially with what you’ve told about Marci’s expanded role and where Foggy is with everything going on with Matt, so this is pretty exciting.
Yes, and I will say one other thing I’m excited about and this is not a secret…but Vincent D’Onofrio is a part of season three…Just from an audience perspective, I’m not sure that there has ever been a greater villain than Fisk.I think he is so complex, so fascinating…That is what I am most excited to see in season three, personally.

I think we’ve all been waiting for his return since it was heavily implied that he would definitely be back. And, honestly, I feel like Fisk is one of the best performances Vincent D’Onofrio has ever delivered.
Oh yeah. So—a cute story about Vincent D’Onofrio, and no pressure to put this in, but—
After season one, I was a major fangirl of his, because obviously he’s amazing. And I had never met him, because we didn’t have any screen time together and he wasn’t at the season two premier…
So, it turns out, I’m in New York City, and he lives in my neighborhood. I took my kid trick-or-treating, at the time she was two or three, and she was Goofy for Halloween, that’s what she wanted to be, and so Mommy had one of those giant furry—what do they call people who have those giant furry costumes?

They literally call them furries.
Alright! So, I had a furry costume on of Donald Duck, that’s what I was—Listen, it was like 5pm on a weekday, that’s what she wants, it makes her happy.
You’ve got the visual. I’m in the furry costume, I got my hair pulled back, I got no make-up on. We’re trick-or-treating, and what do I do, but knock on a door and who answers the door?
Vincent—handing out candy.
And, what I should have done was just take the candy and say, “Thank you very much, sir.”
But I couldn’t help mah-self [sic]! And I was like, “Oh my god! Oh my God! I’m Amy! I’m in Daredevil! I play Marci!”
And I don’t even know what came out of my mouth, I was so excited to see him. And he was so polite! And I don’t know if he knew what I was talking about, if he even watches his own work…a lot of serious actors and artists don’t watch their own work…so, for all I know he doesn’t even know who I am.
But to his credit, he was so sweet…and I’m standing there with my two-and-a-half-year-old, and he’s like, “Well, we’re having a Halloween party, would you like to come in?”
And, I didn’t. I didn’t stay…the last thing I want to do is go to Vincent D’Onofrio’s Halloween party dressed as Donald Duck with no make-up on, but he could not have been nicer and handled my fangirling with grace and sweetness.
So—that’s my Vincent D’Onofrio story.

Just in time for Halloween.
And just in time for Halloween.
But anyway…I hope I’ve phrased everything, so I don’t get in trouble. I think I did, right?

I don’t really know what’s trouble-worthy, but I guess we’ll find out, won’t we?
Yeah, and hopefully we will get an answer about when Daredevil is dropping. I mean…I know they’re doing Comicon, so my guess is, it’ll be announced there. I mean, isn’t that what they usually do?

There you have it, folks. Sounds like there are a lot of new developments coming our way in the world of Daredevil, from Wilson's Fisk's return to what sounds like one hell of an action sequence. We'll be keeping close tabs on NYCC Comicon, and if we do get that release date, you'll find it here! Thanks for reading, and if you liked my interview or want to share your excitement for season three of Daredevil, sound off in the comments!
