Since you don't have a set destination yet, it might be worth subscribing to Scott's Cheap Flights. Not sure how he does it but he sends out notifications of unusually low prices. It's free to get some of his notifications but you can pay for all if you want. I've been on the free one for a couple months and have seen some incredible deals.

A few examples were Stockholm for under $400, Brazil for $480, and Oktoberfest for under $500. The prices seem to be from major airports but might still be worth watching.

Jetradar is a decent app as well for airfare.

Wow. That's amazing. We spent around $1300/each for round trip to Rome in summer of '15.

FWIW, United is the only airline I haven't had a horrible experience with. I could care less about the PR thing, I'll keep flying them.

I did a bunch of searching.. everything from MCI is still $1000+ to the major hubs in Europe.

Maybe directly from O'hare or Newark the flights are that cheap, but not from our airport.

I did see flights to Key West, Aruba, etc., mainly Caribbean spots, for pretty cheap from MCI, like $400. That's pretty good.

I just checked United pricing on the flights we commonly use and they are the same price as always.

Nice is absolutely stunning. Very nice people there, too. Definitely one of my favorite places I have ever visited.

okay bumping this back up.

Looking for suggestions for a short beach trip. July 25th-29th. Leaving from Wichita. (we can leave the 24th in the evening if that makes it a better deal).

We went to Providenciales in Turks and Caicos last year and it was awesome. Grace Bay and the beaches were the best we have been to and the water was the clearest I have ever seen. We avoided the major hurricane by about a week...!

We debated on Hawaii again, but think we will look for another Caribbean place.

Suggestions? It doesn't have to be all inclusive, but that is always a plus.

Thanks!

Sup Bitches....

New suggestions for this year of travel

Current weeks looking to fill for travel:
First Week of June
Last week of August

Last year we went to Puerto Vallarta for 5-6 days in July
and we went to Ireland for 8-9 days in August. Both were great trips.

The year before we went to Providenciales, turks & caicos for 7 days and it was amazing as well.

Looking for new ides.

one of the two should be a beach vacation and the other most likely a european trip.

Caribbean for the june one? ( aruba, anguila, BVI, etc?)
Europe for the august one? ( scotland, sweden, germany, spain, italy?)

My daughter and her fiancÚ spent a week in Hawaii last year and loved it.

I'm more of the Brason/Silver Dollar City type too. I just don't get into the travel thing. See one mountain/ocean you've seen 'em all

You're kinda right. My family and I travel to Colorado every year, and we have a timeshare in the smoky mountains, and tbh, Colorado is about as nice as it gets for mountain ranges. Now it's just about getting out and going somewhere for the year.

I plan on going to Maui with my GF in Nov. She has to travel there for work. My son wants to go to Minneapolis for a vacation this year so that's an easy one to knock out. That leaves me to pick something fun for me. I am thinking a resort somewhere. Also tossing around going back to Sweden to visit a buddy of mine there.

Went to Kauai for our honeymoon and it was pretty cool. Hawaii is where we will travel in the future again. Looking more Caribbean type beach.

Others may disagree, but I love islands and the beach, but I am not a big fan of Hawaii, especially for the time it takes to get there. I am far more the Caribbean fan.

On Europe (especially the hot spots) try going off peak season if you can. Not only can you score better deals, you can get in to see everything without much of a wait and avoid crowds. We hit up Italy in March. The weather was around 65 degrees, but we were able to get in to see anything that we wanted (churches, vatican, museums), within 10 minutes. We were even able to walk right into St. Peter's Square 10 or 15 minutes ahead of time, for the pope's blessing. We aren't catholic, but it was still cool. That is the only way to do it if you hate crowds.

If you are open to something different, one of the greatest trips we have done, was charter a small yacht ( https://sailkindredspirit.com/ ) and sail around the virgin islands. The guy that owns it is from Missouri and a great guy. His prices are very reasonable, and it is a blast.
