Default Jeep JK steering issues

This forum is rarely used, but figured I would start here and move to automotive lounge if I need.

I have a Jeep JKU with a 4.5" skyjacker lift. It has had a few odds and ends replaced and upgraded since the original lift. Either way, the issue is it has some bump steer issues worse than I would expect on highway or even around 45mph. Does anyone have a jeep specific shop they would recommend to take a look? I've done about all the checking I can with my limited lifted steering knowledge.

Thanks!

I think DIY is associated with Stomper Off Road. They have done some sweet Jeep stuff that I have seen.

Ah, yeah you're right. I remember seeing them attached to the same area. I'll try and get in touch with them, thanks for mentioning them!

Are you running stock control arms? I wonder if the caster is off. because of the lift.

The lift also tends to pull the axle back a bit also causing problems. If a lift isn't done properly it will kill the ball joints within 6 months.

I'm sure Stomper will be able to figure out the issues and come up with the solutions.

Aftermarket control arms. Recently upgraded the front LCA's as well. Could be related to the bushings though.

Could be bushings. Maybe, as DIY pointed out, incorrect DS angle/caster too, based on upper and lower lengths if they're adjustable.

If you haven't done an alignment, I would start there.

Well, she's in Stomper's hands now. Definitely not cheap, but I think this should cure any issues with it.

Doing Metal Cloak High Steer Kit and stock Pitman
Metal Cloak Adjustable Rear Control Arms
Synergy Adjustable Front and Rear Track Bars
Synergy Rear Sway Links
Adams front drive shaft
And having the Rear Pinion Seal replaced

Hopefully after all of this, the remains of the shitty SkyJacker lift don't show. We will see.

Got it back today -- drives much more steady and feels more solid than it did before. Still not perfect but it should do for now! Thanks for the input!
