![]() Fuck yeah.
2000, if the fairings are original. I regret selling my 01. Was a beast, even by today's standards, easy to ride, reliable as the sun. Very comfortable for that size bike. I regret selling it to this day. Mine was mint, save for a tiny 2mm scratch on the tank. These and the 954 are getting really hard to find that haven't been ragged out to shit, stunted, etc. PM me the details on it and what you paid. I feel like I basically gave mine away for the condition, mileage and mods I had. |

![]() Bought it from the original owner who always babied and garaged it. 1 very light scuff on the right side that happened in the garage, but otherwise the thing is in amazing condition IMO for being 20 years old. Yes, original fairings and graphics. I have nothing to compare to since this is the only liter I've ridden, but I'm amazed at how good the bike is for being nearly 2 decades old. It's just so user friendly and reserved around town, but silly fast and nimble when called upon.

I sold both of bikes to fund a C5 fund, figured that I'd get more use out of a car, year-round. |

![]() Anyone have any suggestions on motorcycle insurance companies? Been shopping around a little for something newer that would warrant full coverage and most of the quotes I'm getting are crazy. I've got no accidents or tickets, some of these $400-600-800/mo quotes have me rolling

It has gotten to the point where really nobody wants to insure the newer sportbikes. Coverage is usually pretty reasonable for liability only, but when you add in Collision, it gets crazy. There's too many inexperienced riders buying new bikes they can't handle, binning them, and filing claims. It has inflated the whole market. I would recommend looking at carrying just Comp. If you wreck it yourself, fix it out of pocket. Some other things that can help is look at moving all your policies to that carrier. Going with higher deductibles on the bike will also help. Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions. I'm an agent in O.P. |

For instance, I have owned a Triumph Street Triple (2014, current bike) and a Triumph Daytona (2007). They have the same engine, sans slightly different gearing and cams. The Daytona is fared, the Street Triple is not. The streety costs me $67/mo to insure, the daytona cost me $180/mo to insure (same insurance company, same policy with the same deductibles, etc.). It's because they're technically classified as different bikes, even though it's the same fucking thing, for our intents and purposes. Also, the Street Triple is more fun, more comfortable, better in the city, and is prettier (IMO). Check them out ![]() |

Occasionally, they will make a mistake. A couple years ago Foremost had the Ducati Desmosedici in their system as "custom." Even though it was a race bike with lights, and cost $60k, it was cheaper to insure than the Monster!

![]() OP-if you want more juice than that Blade, get a second gen VMax. Insurance should be a great deal cheaper and it still has monster performance.
Then sell me the Blade for $2k. |

I'm 25, credit 730ish. I know what the the other guys around here pay and it's way less than what I keep getting quoted, with worse driving records on their end and the same age. I've only had my own street bikes about 3 years or so, but I've been around, worked on, and ridden motorcycles literally my entire life via my dad's lifelong obsession. I've got a buddy who's also 25, single, similar credit and as far as I know an equally clean driving record, who just got rid of a 2015 BMW S1000RR that he bought new. He was paying 130~ month full coverage. Now has an H2. |

They're turned down, HP-wise. You'll find though that their power bands are a lot more useful in every day riding (and hooning) than super sports. The Speed Triple, though only (lol, only) has 140hp will pull front tire from like 2,000 rpm, not even pinning it. When I ride my dad's, I have to be careful in first because even rolling into it will usually pull tire. They're TORQUE MONSTERS and more fun than any liter sport bike I've ever been on by a long, long, loooooooong shot. The Super Duke will power wheelie in 5th gear. Don't get caught up in bench racing. Unless you plan on these being primarily drag strip bikes, you won't notice the drop in HP. Super sports are usually pretty gutless down low because they're designed for track riding where you stay in the top 5,000rpm the whole time. On the street, who wants to do that? It's way better to make your power down lower in the rev range. |

Having ridden both, I think the Street is a better all around bike. It's just as fast as my dad's Speed (though his is a generation behind mine) so don't get caught up in thinking bigger displacement = faster. The streety's engine is more rev-happy and fun and the bike is lighter, thinner, and more flickable. IMO the only reason to get the Speed is if you're a bigger guy and you want a bigger bike so you don't look like a gorilla on a unicycle and you need the extra power because you're heavier ![]() |
