As one of the seven people on this site, i feel like our play calling is worse then Alex Smith's play. Granted he played like shit, but yeah this was horrible.

He has regressed to old Alex. Missing open receivers, happy feet, etc.
Play calling was garbage as well. Pathetic

The Chiefs have signed CB Darrelle Revis

Chiefs have been trying to sign Darrelle Revis for much of this season, per source. He wouldn’t take the deal - until now.

The #Chiefs signed CB Darrelle Revis to a 2-year deal, source said. There is no fully guaranteed money for 2018. Minimum for 2017.

The Chiefs make the corresponding move for Revis, placing Cam Thomas on waivers

Smith looked fucking awful. Then again he had maybe 2 seconds to get the ball and do something with it. I was really wanting him benched after the game but the more I think about it I don't think changing the quarterback will do anything because everyone knows what the Chiefs are going to do play-wise. They just throw everyone at the front line and there's not shit the Chiefs can do about it. They always run on first down and they can't throw the ball downfield because they have no time to do it. Reid's play calling sucks ass and he won't change it up. When it does it's some absolutely stupid fucking trick play that fails. Add in a garbage secondary and a pass rush that is old and tired and I'm starting to wonder if the Chiefs are even going to make it to the playoffs at this point.

It's incredible that they went from super bowl contenders to easily one of the worst teams in football in the span of half a season.

Pretty much agreed.

I'll object to the comment about running on first down, we ran on 4 of 12 first downs by my math this week... (not counting when Smith scrambles, on what was of course an intended pass play)

Other than that... even though he missed some throws, and refuses to look downfield... I agree Smith is not the problem. He's the same guy that was smoking people the first 5 weeks... it's all on the play calling.

Teams have figured out Reid at this point. He's gotta hand off the offensive playcalling, IMO.

I can't see starting Mahomes... that would mostly guarantee we don't make playoffs. I don't see a single team in the NFL we can beat right now... something has to give... not sure what it is.

Watch or read the "all-22" on Alex. It is majority on his shoulders for the faults. He has been taking his eyes off downfield plays and scrambling or getting happy feet when he shouldn't.

The line is decent but is used incorrectly in their blocking scheme based on the players.
First obvious move is to put Ehinger in at LG in place of fulton and Wintzman. He brings some nastiness to the line they haven't had since Hudson and Allen left.

The run game is shit because they are stacking 8 in the box and they know Alex won't make plays with his arm.

Reid's play calling is contributing to this... but Alex also audibles at the line of scrimmage and changes into these. Also Alex is a master at pre-snap/pre-blitz yelling, but once the play starts he reverts to pre-kc alex.

Chiefs elevate TE Orson Charles to the 53-man roster. He replaces Ross Travis. Chiefs also sign DL Mike Purcell to the practice squad.

Smith has roughly 3 seconds from snap til he has to scramble. The O line can't block for shit. Andy Reid has even acknowledged this and admitted he can't fix it with the personnel he currently has.

so its all on andy and Dorsey for the drafts? Andy designed the offense around Alex and the zone blocking to benefit him. They have 2 high paid tackles, one very high paid RG, a Center that is good and drafted by andy and a LG they have selected as well.

Alex Smith is 22nd slowest on Snap to pass time currently in the nfl at 2.67 seconds. He is tied with Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers, the difference though with them is teams respect their arms and decision making. Nobody respects Alex right now.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid is benching....himself. He has has planned to hand over play calling to OC Matt Nagy for today's game vs. Jets although Reid will continue to have oversight, per team sources.

Alex Smith has had Reid's support all week but his performance against the Jets also will determine how short his leash gets with rookie Patrick Mahomes in waiting, the sources also say.

3rd and 18. Honestly surprised they didn't try to run it, but still he only throws it 3 yards beyond the line of scrimmage. Do you average 15 yards after a catch or something or are you trying not to get a first down? I think we lose this one too.

Edit:He started making plays now the defense went to hell. Throws the flag into the stands. Babyback bitch.

they gave him plenty of time. He steps into pressure and runs from clean pockets, it has been shown over and over by ex-players and analysts.

Alex did play better in spots today, but his completion percentage sucked and when they needed him to lead a game winning drive he couldn't.
