Oh yeah. I've gotten the boot a few times.

The last time seemed pretty serious. Haven't been back since.

Talking

KCIR is a NHRA track so they have to follow NHRA tech. They arent saying you cant race there, or to stay away.

Its been quite a few times for me starting about 10 years ago. I have been to the point for a couple years now that if I ever run another full 1/4 mile pass again I will never be allowed back to the track.

I just run 1/8 mile now although I have even been booted for that a couple years back, but they seem to be cool with it now.

Like stated, it's a NHRA track. When I worked there I actually had to tell people to leave several times. We did our job, we went by the rules. Anyone who goes there enough should know most of the rules and not be upset if they break them.

IIRC, Blow down tube if inside passenger compartment and a jacket.... probably more, but can't think of them right now.

It might be but I have one as I don't want to pole vault the car.

My old setup I ran 11.4's without the boot. Haven't been back in about 2 years building the new setup. I'll be doing what Mr. Brock does and just making 1/8th mile passes until I feel I have a clean launch and great short times and then I'll stay in it the whole quarter. The time I'm aiming for I highly doubt they'll let me make another pass the rest of the night. heh I really do not want to put a cage in for the fact that my car is purely a street car.

How soon do they let you back after getting the boot? Also, how strict are they on the tech inspection with a cage and it being NHRA certified? (meaning, do they get down to the nitty gritty and make sure it's the proper diameter piping, welded in, etc or do they just peek in and look for a cage of some sort?) This is asking in regards to an import as well so they may be a little less strict on the compliance of the cage. I have tech'd before and the tech guy literally walked up and looked in my engine bay and told me "I honesly have no clue what I'm looking at sooooo....you have a helmet and a fire jacket?" heh I am thinking about getting a cage that I can just throw in the day of and run in hopes they aren't terribly strict. (probably wishful thinking)
