Default Grilling Thermometer for FIL.

My father-in-laws birthday is coming up and I think he would get a lot of use out of a grilling/kitchen thermometer. He loves to grill all year round, but he never uses a thermometer and because of this he has a hard time getting consistent results. I want to get him a decent thermometer for his birthday. Does anyone have any recommendations. I have one, but I bought it from Target and I am sure there is something better I can get for the money I spent.

You would be hard pressed to find something better than one of these.

Thanks, I have heard the thermapen is the best, but I don't think I can convince my wife to spend $200 on a thermometer for her dad. I hadn't thought about a wireless one though. He does smoke stuff though, so that might be an option.

Maverick ET-732 - This is what I use for my smoker. 1 probe to check smoker temp, the other probe to check the meat temp.
