Thanks! The color is called Perfect Blue. It's a 2015-only color. I'm at 48k miles without any major issues. The rear brakes have a tendency to develop a horrendous shriek on the 15 and 16 but seems to be fixed with installation of insulators (latest tsb). Otherwise, there have been some recalls.

You mentioned 14 or 15 above. If you didn't know, the 15s have enhancements compared to 14 such as the manual option, mag ride, rear Brembos and the painted rear lower area (matte black on 14s).

I don't really have any dislikes. My main gripes are no button for the trunk and the shiny bits in the interior really reflect the sun in my eyes. Not bad gripes to have. The gas mileage is terrible as expected.
Thanks for the reply, I know the gas mileage is very bad, but its got to be better than an STi on e85, and maybe just a tad worse then one running pump gas. I really want a 2015 mostly because of the magnetic suspension. Im actually fairly set on getting an automatic as there is a lot of traffic where I live and Im tired of rowing through gears in my DD. I did not notice that bit about the rear trim being painted vs plastic on the 2015 though, definitely looks better.

Try keeping white 12 spokes clean for 10 years, then tell me you wouldnt wish your wheels were black.

If I ever get aftermarket wheels again they will be gunmetal grey or black.

I really thought I was set on going for a black SS, but after seeing Mikes, that blue is my first choice now for sure.

Mike's is clean asf, no doubt. Blacking out the chrome on them is the first thing that needs to be done.

There were only 274 imported in that color so it might take a while for one to pop up. ~72% were automatics so at least that increases your chances a bit.

The autos are often listed as manual on the sale sites. A quick way to tell is the 5th digit of the VIN. 1=auto, 2=manual.

I was curious. Looks like there's an auto on cars.com now and of course listed as a manual. https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...5630/overview/

I found a black 2014 SS near me in Clearwater FL that has only 39k miles and is $33k, It is also chevy CPO. Anyone have experience with chevy CPO cars? do you trust it? big worry is getting a lemon or a possible previous flood car or something. 100k/6 year powertrain warranty is really tempting.
From my understanding getting a CPO from a chevy dealer is a pretty safe bet, no?
Thanks for your input

They should provide you with a Carfax and a Vincheck. If they're okay, I wouldn't be worried.

The SS snobs might look down on you, being a 14.

It doesnít have mag ride, right?

There is actually a perfect blue one (same color as yours) with a manual in my parking garage. Saw it for the first time on Thursday.

Nope, no mag ride

No magnetic ride unfortunately, I really dont care if SS snobs look down on me, its the only one I have found in my area. From the reviews I have watched the ride quality on the 14's is still pretty comfortable. Considering Im used to an STi on coilovers and a clapped out 4runner Im sure I will be satisfied with the comfort of a non mag SS.
The interiors are no different between the years, and it is one of the biggest things I love about the car, love the way the interior looks.

Im conflicted on trading in both my 4runner and STi for it as I doubt they would give me what I could get out of a private sale, esp for the STi.
Im going to list my STi for a hopefully quick sale(tranny is fixed) @ $10,000 and my 4runner for $3000.

If itís a cpo, Iíd give a look.

I know what youíre saying, but honestly if the cars in great shape a drivers fine, who cares? I think people might buy them and find out theyíre not exactly what they want, ie, itís smaller than they thought, doesnít have lsa power, etc.

Yeah, there are weirdo enthusiasts like me that change cars every 6 months to a year. Glad I outgrew doing that with new stuff. That’s not a deterrent unless theres accidents.

It can make all the difference. My Evo albeit high mileage, was a one-owner car when I bought it. Where as I know of many Evos that blew up with half or more of the mileage of mine because it had been passed around so many times, not modified correctly, etc. But this was a used 12-year old car at the time. I wouldn't be as worried about it with a newer car.

I agree with you, to a certain extent.

A low-mileage, ls3, cpo car wouldnít worry me as much as a High strung, awd, m6 boi racer , turbo I4.

Do to the nature of this car, and the niche is fills... it doesn't surprise me that people either spent more than they could afford and decided to bail, or decided the car wasn't a good fit for them... the service records and Carfax will tell you what you need to know.

Well, I called to schedule getting a trade in estimate on both my 4runner and STi and they sold the SS I was eyeballing, so Im just going to have a family friend who is basically a "car finder/dealer" find one. Basically, you tell him what you want and he finds them at auctions.

Just buy a Jeep Wrangler 5 speed or 6 speed manual and call it a day. However if it’s 2006 and older, just have a shop check for rust. Don’t buy 2007-2011 due to the motor. 2012-2017 are fine. 2018 and newer have had frame weld problems so stay away from the 18-19 models.

Wrangler is not a very comfortable vehicle, nor does it have any performance. I already have a 4runner, and I hate driving it.

I want a car that is comfortable, more luxury oriented, big enough to carry a kayak on top, decently fast, cheap to maintain/reliable.

The SS checks all those boxes, all I need to do is throw a roof rack on it and Im golden

I have 100% decided on the SS , Both my 4runner and STi are for sale and Im looking for the right deal on and a family friend is keeping his eyes open at dealer auctions.

I knew you didn’t want a wrangler. I love em. However the SS is 1 car I would drive or the Pontiac GTO. They just tend to be abused so make sure you have it checked out.

You recommend a Wrangler, but are worried about an SS being abused? Irony much? Most people I know with Wranglers throw a baby lift on them and try to drive over anything and everything.

The Chevy SS wasn't a low priced car designed for the 24 year old kid with a lead foot. Most of them were purchased by older (relatively) people.
