Default Any automotive rebuilders around Roeland Park?

Anyone around Roeland Park restore or rebuild cars? I've been wanting to get into it for a long time but I don't know anyone in KC who's into it. I just started taking classes at JCCC for fun and to get some hands on learning but it's pretty slow, at least at the start and they don't have any auto body courses. I'm looking to see if anyone would be interetsed in teaching me at least the basics, I'd be an extra set of hands to help with whatever. I work full time in IT so it's just a for fun nights/weekend hobby for me.

New to the forum, hope this thread is the right spot for this

Are you looking to buy and fix late model cars to re-sell (i.e. from Copart or IAAI) or are you looking to restore cars (and for personal enjoyment or for profit) - Similar but different... They both require bodywork and mechanical work but the technology and what your goals are become different (i.e. if you're fixing say a 2010 ford focus for a teen ager's first car /daily driver the bodywork can be 'acceptable' and mechanically it just has to be working, but if you're trying to restore a 1967 Shelby Mustang and wanting top dollar then the paint match, gaps, etc. need to be spot on, mechanically it should be completely gone through, etc.)

I've done a LITTLE bit of both quite a while ago but lately have been thinking about doing a few "fun" cars for my kids the next year or two. If you want to chat just PM me.
