![]() I'm the IT person at a local financial company. We are looking to fill a helpdesk role. Our IT team consist of 3 people currently and we're looking to add a 4th. This position will be around 80% user support. As we have over 130 remote locations, a lot of the support will be phone and email. We have around 350 employees total so you're not going to be swamped with user support. We also have a current helpdesk person so you won't be drowning, not knowing where to look.
Position: IT Support Specialist Location: Overland Park, KS The Mutual Fund Store® is seeking an energetic, results-oriented IT Support Specialist. The ideal candidate is innovative, resourceful and motivated to help our employees locally and at our remote locations throughout the United States. Candidates should be flexible, self-motivated and have experience in supporting Microsoft operating systems, network connectivity, software and computer equipment. Essential Duties: Provide helpdesk support and resolve problems to the end user’s satisfaction Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the support ticket system Monitor for tickets assigned to the queue and process first-in first-out based on Priority Responsible for deployment and set up of desktop computers (PCs) in all corporate locations; inclusive of ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, software(s) and printers (both network and desktop) Oversee and coordinate delivery of PCs to locations Account administration for onboarding and offboarding of employees Management of user accounts – set up, password support, and termination of accounts Read technical manuals, confer with users and/or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support Management and tracking of all software licenses inclusive of developing a list of all current license data, and regular updates to keep list current and up-to-date an all times PC inventory management Manage printer set-ups providing updates and trouble shooting at PC level when necessary Desktop software support as needed for Microsoft Windows 7 Professional desktop applications, Exchange 2010, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Microsoft Lync 2013, Microsoft Office 2010 and all Anti-Virus software Perform software upgrades as needed Required Skills: Strong Problem solving – identifies problems, develops and evaluates options, implements solutions Communication skills; both verbal and written Thorough and detailed when documenting all processes and keeping them up to date Deep practical knowledge of computers and related software – especially desktop computers Self motivated and comfortable taking on significant workload Strong work ethic – attendance, timeliness, meeting deadlines, accepting new challenges Thorough and detailed in completing tasks Reliable, responsible and dependable; always fulfilling position obligations Enterprise and judgment – takes initiative, recognizes needs and acts on them, knows boundaries, keeps manager apprised of workload, demands, projects and new initiatives Achievement oriented, exerting effort toward mastering tasks Adaptable and flexible, open to change and considerable variety in workplace Ability to juggle competing demands and prioritize workload Proficient in all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Ability to learn and support new systems and applications Preferred experience with Microsoft Lync and Microsoft Dynamics CRM Required Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business, Communications or related field 2 years of relevant technical experience Cisco, Microsoft, or other related industry certification Experience in supporting Microsoft operating systems, network connectivity, software applications and peripheral computer equipment Investment industry experience a plus EOE/M/F/D/V http://www.indeed.com/rc/clk?jk=fc8c3a1fc71cbb1a Any questions feel free to post or PM me. ![]() Agreed, but having worked in the IT industry professionally for 19 years now, as well has having a role in the interviewing and hiring process of the company I currently am employed by, it just feels a bit high to ask for a B.S.
