Doesn't matter. Big 12 is already being excluded from the playoff.

Osu could blow out OU and still only get to 6-7. Even though all the talking heads have said they should be considered a 1 loss team the committee will still exclude them for a "bad loss". Their one real loss is to Baylor on the road in September. The "experts" are already trying to say that the 3 losses USC had in September aren't that bad because it was September. Guess the same logic doesn't apply when it's not a big name like USC.

KSU should have beaten OSU. I dont see OSU having much of a chance vs OU.

Sadly with the game being in Norman I tend to agree.

The defense will need 3 turnovers just to have a chance.

if it's anything other than those 4 then we may as well bring the BCS back.

I guess I don't understand how penn st doesn't get in over osu.

They go on and on about how it's more than just the record and it's who you beat and conference title and the best four teams in the country etc.

Penn st beat osu and won the big 10. They took care of business to put themselves in a position to win the conference and then they did it. Osu just has the bigger name and money draw plain and simple.

I initially thought penn state should be there but assume there is no way they take Ohio state out. Too much $$ and osu has a solid resume

if you think Penn State should be ranked above OSU then you are high. Their resumes aren't close.

Can you explain? I dont follow college sports much so I have been trying to figure out why. I just looked up both of their schedules and they look pretty similar to me. Half of their games are common opponents the other half are mostly no names. Then there is the head to head that Ohio lost. What logic was used putting Penn in to the championship game if Ohio is better?
Based on what little I know Big 10 Champion + winner of H2H should = Play off spot...?

Just an outsider looking in...

Disagree on that too.

So much emphasis is placed on h2h and conference title.....until it's a big money team and then the rules change.

The committee said previously that what happens in September isn't the biggest deal to them. So a loss early on isn't weighted as heavily as a loss late. Penn st did lose to Pitt but then went on a hell of a run. Ohio st had lots of close wins against teams they should have blown out. That matters in all this.

My top 4 would have been bama, Clemson, Washington and penn st.

I can't believe how bad Okie State lost. Their defense had played well this year. Gundy plays too damn conservative against OU.

Everyone else that played OU can believe it.

KState should have beat you and we aren't even that good this year.

Lane Kiffin takes a 400,000 a year pay cut to go be a head coach again.

Other coaches still say he is toxic and unhireable. Why would he leave easy wins and national notoriety as the offensive architect at Alabama for a pay cut just to be a HC at a small program?

Yep. Lots of rumors floating around that Saban didn't want his contract renewed.

There are two answers I could think of...

The first being that I would guess that there is a fair bit (or a lot) of narcissism involved. He probably thinks that he can eventually build or HC a great program somewhere and not be just a footnote to saban, which lets, be honest, is a sweet, and pretty safe gig. Great pay, great recruits, and about anything you could ask for to be successful. What I couldn't explain, is why he jumped ship to where he did. He must be fairly tainted if that is the best gig he could land.

The only other real answer that I could come up with is that he is dodging some sort of bullet. Internal conflicts, being forced out, violations that have not been uncovered/made public, or some other sort of problem that this would help him avoid. That is all speculation, but seems logical.
