Marijuana industry is hot, as is just about anything in tech. I'd be wary of Zoom or social media though right now. Cryptocurrency has dropped 20-25% in the past 24 hrs.

Ya, I need to do more research on the Mary Jane stuff. Would be nice to snag a good ETF in that section. I know that many KCSR's are way into Crypto... sadly I am to dumb to understand the coin itself. However I can grasp the mining aspect and transaction duties, so thus I invested in companies related to that. Hopefully, it pans out long term.

I won't invest in marijuana, alcohol, or tobacco, on personal ethical grounds (just my own personal choice). As far as cryptocurrency goes, it is too volatile for me to invest in now. I've been sticking with big tech stocks because that is my forte.

Zoom would have been a great bet a year ago. It went from 70 to 588 in 9 months.

I rode ZOOM and SQ for a while. But I got scared and got out. Still made some great gains, just didn't know how long either of them could sustain.

TMO was another I rode from 221 to my sale at 511

NIO is expected to do very well this year. Chinese EV.

Some of the other things I have been dabbling in are industries I am expecting to make a bounce back. Like cruise and airlines. I have wanted to get into the crypto game but haven't made the jump.

I have also been looking at some of the health stocks. I have heard whispers of INO gaining traction after their phase 3 trials take off but I fear they may be late to the party. They are backed by the DOD though.

I am not savvy enough for the crypto game. With it taking big swings as it does, with nothing really backing it, it makes me too nervous.

As far as other areas, I am sticking the course with the market. It wouldn't surprise me to see a bit of a decline when things go back to normal. Big tech is weighted pretty heavily and has done very well with people having to stay home. Hopefully there is some pent up demand to help even that out. I am hoping small/mid size business will follow in short order, as well as more developing ones overseas as the vaccine makes its rounds.

I do agree that marijuana, if you can get in on the ground floor, should be a very profitable industry. Getting in early with a good group and getting established correctly is going to be key there.

Missouri may be tough for a bit. I have a good friend that is involved with one in another state and is consulting for one getting going in Missouri. There are a limited number dispensaries that are going to be allowed to open at the moment, and all that I am aware of, are fairly well funded, meaning that they do not need outside investors.

Keep your eyes and ears open. I don't think a lot of people are advertising that they are getting into it. I know there have been some doing it crowd funding style. Zane Lamprey was doing setting up what looked to be more of a greenhouse, but I know for a while he was crowd funding it. He has a history of doing a lot in the booze/media industry.

Apparently the word is the buy even more Monday. Old boomer hedge fund traders are super pissed that a bunch of retail traders on a website caused them to lose millions upon millions. They want to “regulate Reddit traders”, however the fuck your do that (make it illegal to talk to your friends about stocks). This will be fun to watch.

The way this has/possibly will play out is hilarious.

People found a huge weak spot, that never should have happened (GME being shorted waaaaaaaaaay to much), and encouraged a lot of people on social media to buy. This drove the price up. Investors that were shorting it, had to buy shares to cover their short bets, which drove the price up even further. The losses for some are supposedly over $4 billion already.

So I bought my tiny little $1000 worth of shares on 1/20. I’m up 290% right now on stocks only (not an option). This is so weird and awesome, and wish I wasn’t too scared to put some real money at it back then.

Edit, it exploded in after hours trading. I’m up 360% now.

Edit again, 500% now.
