Default Need help setting points..

I have started working on the "non-running" RD400. It needed a new battery and a fresh set of plugs and she fired right up. Currently the bike runs a little rough. There isn't a ton of power, and it appears one cylinder is backfiring/mis-firing like crazy. The other cylinder is fine.

I spent this morning cleaning out the carbs really good. Completely disassembled them and cleaned then out with carb cleaner(went through one whole can). The are spotless. I even went as far as to clean the stock fuel strainer. The gas is fresh as well. 93 Octane with some full syn 2 stroke oil.

My only downfall is messing with points ignition. I read up on how to set them, but I don't have all the tools to do it. Mainly the TDC gauge. Would anyone be willing to help me out to check the timing and set the points if they are not adjusted correctly?

I would provide beer/liquor for your time.

If you find someone good, send them my way. I can't get the 350s points set right either. I tried the whole timing marks under that stator cover with a probe light, but I can't get both cylinders to run right at the same time...
