I was just on a website checking out Shorais... Post some feedback once you've had it for a while. Im pretty sure my bike still has the original battery from '05.

Peoples face when I yell "catch this battery" as I toss it to them

Like I said, I am jealous. Did you get their charger with it as well?

I could easily lose 10 pounds, but buying something is always better right?

Is there a speaker inside the helmet or what?

2 Speakers and a mic, you can connect it to your phone and talk going down the highway. It's pretty clear too, also you can play music through it and connect it to another one to chat with your passenger.

The Sena SMH 10 is awesome! Flawless so many years and Sena is good about updating the firmware.

What brand did you get? I could be interested in this. I have a Bell Helmet which is crazy loud, but has some of the best ventilation of any helmet I have worn.

Sena, mines a full face. I'm not too sure how it would work with a 3/4 or half

Shorai's are a rip off.

The Alien Motions, or any other similar brand give you a lot more battery for your money. The chargers are only about $35 for the LiFE safe ones too.

Worth it, IMO.

I use a Cardo Scala bluetooth in my Bell Star (which is definitely a loud ass bell helmet). I like it, you can plug your music into it too, answer phone calls, and send (but not receive) text messages via text-to-voice. I can hear phone calls pretty well on the highway, but I usually have to tell the person to speak up a bit if they are talking quiet. Around town, the sound quality is great on phone calls. The unit-to-unit via bluetooth, and when you plug your music in as well, has better sound quality than phone calls. They aren't cheap, but very handy.

No offense Russ, but those things are hideous. You also need different forks. Buy yourself some 09/10 Buell XB forks. They're black, inverted, and would look totally BA on your bike.
