Will this bike ever be done?

I am partially inspired and embarrassed to ride my bike after reading this build thread. My bike is a rider, not very clean, has multiple scratches and dings in the tank. This almost makes me want to strip the bike down to the frame have it powdercoated then get it repainted.

Who knows. My goal is this month. But I said that about last month.

My biggest issue is time. I plan to do everything I had planned and then some. When it goes together I want everything to be how I want it. Once together I do not want to think of anything that needs to be done.

I watch other builds that are so extensive I tell myself that's how I want mine.

To the point where I touch every nut and bolt, washer and part. I even started to polish the axle spacers.

Ya......I have a problem.

Not sure how I feel about the look with the clear on. Yes it's protected and glossy. But I liked how flat the paint laid out without it. I'll start on the front and do a side by side comparison. Or get it sprayed with a matte clear....hmmm

Keep it gloss, my wheels are gloss but unless I JUST washed the bike they turn flat thanks to brake dust.

Progress.....I guess?

Hoped to have a roller but didn't get much time over the weekend.

Paint prep on parts, cleaning again. Good thing is when it does go together all the small bits will be done.

Caliper before: I didn't take any shots of it painted and cleaned up yet

Getting there. Such a nice day she had to roll outside to get some sun.

Engine in. Cleaned the chain threw it on, side covers not pictured. Time to start shaping my seat and get it dropped off to the upholster. Tray and box then wiring, then she will be ready to fire. Tank getting re-done somewhere in there maybe. But I can do that anytime.

See where I got the inspiration for the frame color?

Thanks man. Soon, it's driving me nuts. Trying to force myself to get things done. Maybe the last week of the month it will be done. I'm confident I can get the wiring done in one sitting. 3-5 hours or so.

Seat pan is simple, mounting is simple, need my yoga mat...yes yoga mat. Trim and shape that. Drop it off to be covered.

Roll the bike up to my neighbors to tack the exhaust together. Then remove it, take it to have tig welded.

All the pretty small details are done.

Really liking the contrast between the tank, frame and wheels.

Thanks. I dig it more and more.

Got my custom length stainless braided brake line made at Quad Power. Great quality line for $37 made to length right there while I wait.

Stainless braided brake lines make a huge difference in braking. My old RZ didn't have them and I could tell on the first ride of my new one the braking wasn't squishy at all.

That's what I've read. Can't wait to see/feel the difference. Also getting new shorter clutch and throttle cables.

Dropping off my box and tray tomorrow to be welded. Plan is to have it wired this weekend and running!

Minus a seat. I'm okay with putting xx miles on it that way

It's paint. Did them last year or two ago. Holding up great so far.

Next build I am doing everything is going to be powdercoated. I didn't want to spend xxx dollars on this bike just in coating.

I've got my eyes set on a KZ750, KZ900 or Honda CB 550 Four
