Default Avengers 4 (TBD)

‘Avengers 4’ Title is a Spoiler for the Events of ‘Infinity War’

With the Marvel Cinematic Universe meticulously planned for the next three years, why is Marvel starting to balk at revealing something as inconsequential as a title? Maybe because it’s not so inconsequential.
Avengers: Infinity War is deep in production right now, but very little is known about its follow-up, known only as Avengers 4 — nor is much known about next wave of movies, or “Phase 4,” that the film is supposed to kick off. Now, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is hinting that the title for Avengers 4 has yet to be revealed because it’s a major spoiler for the events of Infinity War. As for Marvel’s Phase 4? Feige doesn’t even know if it should be called that.

The fourth Avengers film and the 22nd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers 4 was originally titled Avengers: Infinity War Part II, presented as an immediate follow-up to 2018’s Infinity War.
But after Anthony and Joe Russo signed on to direct both Avengers sequels, that subtitle was removed from the film. With news that Avengers 4 will not be filmed in conjunction with Infinity War — which would have been done if it was still the second in a two-parter — it lives up to Feige’s insistence that the two are completely different movies.
In an interview with Cinemablend, Feige cryptically spoke on Infinity War‘s connection to Avengers 4:
“They’re two very different movies. That’s all I’ll say.”
When asked if the conspicuous lack of a subtitle had to do with potential spoilers for Infinity War, Feige responded, “Yeah, for sure.”
It’s a lot to read into, but up until now, Marvel has been almost painfully transparent about their film and TV plans, announcing schedules and Phases five to 10 years ahead of time. With the events of the past three Phases coming to a head with the face-off against the MCU’s ultimate Big Bad, Thanos, the future of the Marvel movies after Infinity War is unclear.
Feige is vague on whether the fourth Phase starting with Avengers 4 can be called Phase 4 at all. In an interview with Collider he spoke about the future of the MCU, and admitted that the next two Avengers films will give a sense of conclusion to the MCU.
“Certainly as we get to Infinity War there is a sense of a climax if not a conclusion to, by the time we’re at untitled Avengers 4, the 22 movies that will have encompassed the first three phases of the MCU. And what happens after that will be very different. I don’t know if it’s Phase 4, it might be a new thing.”
What does this mean? Does this mean the end for the MCU proper and the Marvel movies will diffuse into separate solo films, never to team up again? Probably not…even though the key reason for a major team-up will be diffused once the dust has settled after the next Avengers movies. The build-up since Iron Man flew into theaters in 2008 and jump-started the MCU has been of getting the Avengers together, breaking them apart, and ultimately bringing them together to battle Thanos over the Infinity Stones — which have been scattered throughout the cosmos and nearly every MCU solo and team-up film. With that end-goal supposedly no longer a factor after Infinity War, what do the Avengers have to avenge?
We won’t know much until Infinity War hits theaters May 4, 2018, assembling both the members of the Avengers as well as the Guardians of the Galaxy. The expansive confirmed cast includes Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bethany, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Pom Klementieff, and Josh Brolin as Thanos.

AVENGERS 4 Title Seemingly Revealed By GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 Actress Zoe Saldana

We had heard that the title of the follow-up to Avengers: Infinity War was top secret because it served as a spoiler for the previous film, but Zoe Saldana may have just let the cat out of the bag.

Just this morning, Kevin Feige suggested that the official title for Avengers 4 was being kept under wraps because it could serve as a potential spoiler for Infinity War - however, Zoe Saldana has seemingly revealed said title during an interview, and it really doesn't sound like much of a spoiler at all.

If you watch the video shared by film journo Lizo Mzimba below, you'll clearly hear Saldana state that she's currently in the middle of shooting Infinity War, and that they "all have to go back for Gauntlet later this year."

"Gauntlet" is, of course, a reference to the Marvel Comics arc upon which the next Avengers film is based, and this definitely seems to suggest that The Russo Bros.' follow-up will be titled simply, Avengers: Infinity Gauntlet.

If that is the case, though, why would Feige be reluctant to divulge this information? Perhaps he would simply prefer to preserve a sense of mystery until Marvel is good and ready to make an announcement - or, it could mean that the film won't actually be called Infinity Gauntlet at all, and that's just how the cast are referring to it for the time being.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige On The "Cosmic Universe" Moving To The Forefront Post AVENGERS 4

Kevin Feige briefly discusses the "new age" of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that debuts post Avengers 4 while also expressing his excitement about the cosmic universe established by James Gunn.

More details and tidbits from extensive press coverage on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continue to make their way online. The latest comes courtesy of Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, who has already previously stated that the MCU will likely no longer be organized by Phases post Avengers 4. On what that new MCU will look like, Feige commented that it's still too early for definitive descriptions. “I think it’s a little early to know what it’s going to look like, I think things are going to look very different at that point, but I think the early discussions we’ve had with James [Gunn] about Vol. 3 and beyond with what we’ll call the “Cosmic Universe” and the Guardian characters is very exciting. Which is why he signed up and we announced that even before Guardians Vol. 2 came out.

However, Feige did tell Fandango that the cosmic Marvel characters might assume greater prominence moving forward and not just within future installments of Guardians of the Galaxy. “As you know from the comics, there are so many places to go and so many more characters, and there are a few characters hinted at in the [end] tag scenes of Vol. 2. All of which could be potential to see and explore more in the new age following our big Avengers films.

Currently, there's a lot of speculation on what the future holds for the current crop of Marvel stars- specifically Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans. One way to deal with their potential exit is to shift the primary focus away from what's happening on Earth. There are currently a number of cosmic characters (some of whom appear as cameos in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) who could carry their own franchise and retain audience interest.

Default "Avengers 4" Untitled

Since Infinity War changed and they decided to spilt 3/4 (it is still untitled) 1st "real" news

Josh Brolin Confirms He Will Return As Thanos In AVENGERS 4

While this should come as no surprise (and may even be the least surprising news of the day), Josh Brolin has confirmed that he will indeed be back for seconds as Thanos in the still-untitled Avengers 4!

Rumors began circulating over the weekend suggesting that Thanos might just be a one-and-done villain, only appearing in Avengers: Infinity War before bowing out as the Skrulls take over as the main baddies in the still-untitled Avengers 4, and well, star Josh Brolin has thankfully dispelled those unsubstantiated rumors himself by officially announcing his return for the upcoming sequel, which is expected to begin filming any day now.

Brolin is currently in the midst of filming 20th Century Fox's Deadpool 2 in Vancouver, so it'll be interesting to see how he juggles the two filming schedules over the next few weeks, although if he has one thing going in his favor, it's that his role as Thanos is entirely mo-cap, so it shouldn't be too difficult to find a workaround until Deadpool 2 wraps as Avengers 4 is expected to film through December.

Avengers 4 May Be Bringing Back A Key Iron Man Character

Marvel fans are still in the dark about how next May's Avengers: Infinity War will end, but one thing is certain: however that story concludes, it's going to play into Avengers 4 the following year. Most of Infinity War's characters are already confirmed to return for Earth's Mightiest Heroes' fourth outing, but there will also be a scattering of faces who weren't involved with the fight against Thanos. Thanks to new photos, it appears that Gwyneth Paltrow may be one of these individuals, reprising Pepper Potts for her sixth Marvel Cinematic Universe appearance.

Gwyneth Paltrow was recently photographed rehearsing with Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo for a new movie in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Although The Daily Mail could not 100% confirm that Paltrow has signed on to Avengers 4 yet, given that the Marvel blockbuster has been filming since August 10, as well as Downey and Ruffalo being among its many leads, the signs appear to be pointing to Paltrow participating in that movie. With Avengers 4 both concluding the MCU's Phase Three and wrapping up this franchise in its current iteration, presumably Marvel is keen to have her back for at least one more outing to wrap up her story in case Paltrow doesn't want to return in Phase Four.

Pepper Potts has been part of the MCU since its inception in 2008 with Iron Man, and she returned for 2010's Iron Man 2, 2012's The Avengers and 2013's Iron Man 3. In recent years, though, Paltrow has been dedicating more time to her lifestyle brand Goop, so she hasn't been acting as often. Pepper was subsequently only mentioned in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War, with Tony Stark saying in the latter movie that she and him were on a break. However, Paltrow reprised Pepper for a surprise cameo towards the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming earlier this summer, which saw Tony finally planning to propose to her. One can imagine that Avengers 4 will be just as explosive and intense as Infinity War is being advertised, but perhaps this will also be where we see Tony and Pepper finally tie the knot after all their years together.

No specific details for Avengers 4 have been released to the public yet, including what its title will be after the Infinity War Part II subtitle was dropped. Avengers: Infinity War will see the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy and other assorted superheroes joining forces to prevent Thanos and the Black Order from obtaining the six Infinity Stones. There's been no word on if Pepper Potts will appear in that movie, too, but don't be shocked if at the very least Tony mentions her in the midst of protecting the universe.

Ant-Man's New Costume In 'Avengers 4' Revealed

It looks like Scott Lang will get an interesting upgrade in Avengers 4. Thanks to a new set video, fans can get their first-look at Ant-Man’s new costume.
The official Facebook page for Avengers shared a video to promote Day of Giving, an event meant to raise money for anyone affected by Hurricane Harvey. The set video features plenty of faces as Nebula and Gamora are shown flanking Scott and Hope Van Dyne. However, it is Ant-Man who is drawing the most attention.

As you can see in the picture below, Ant-Man’s new suit is quite different from his first. The hero has added quite a bit of black to his costume, and its chest piece lacks some of the original suit’s detailing. The new look is more sleek than Scott’s first get-up, and it matches Hope’s streamlined Wasp costume.
Fans aren’t surprised to see that Ant-Man is getting an upgraded suit in Avengers 4; After all, plenty of the MCU’s heroes have gotten upgraded suits after a film or two. Ant-Man donned his first suit in his debut movie as well as Captain America: Civl War. There is no telling whether Ant-Man’s upgraded suit will come into play in either Avengers: Infinity War or Ant-Man and the Wasp, but fans can look forward to the updated look at least.
Ant-Man and the Wasp did begin filming this summer, so it is possible the hero will come into the suit in the sequel. The new outfit wouldn’t be the only one to debut in the film; Earlier this month, Evangeline Lilly shared a first-look at her Wasp suit from the film to commemorate Jack Kirby on what would’ve been his 100th birthday.
(Photo: Marvel Entertainment ) Ant-Man and the Wasp currently has a 3.89 out of 5 ComicBook.com User Anticipation Rating, making it the ninth most anticipated upcoming comic book movie among ComicBook.com readers. Let us know how much you're looking forward to Ant-Man and the Wasp by giving the film your own rating below.

Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye Rumored To Adopt A New Identity For AVENGERS 4 - Possible SPOILERS Ahead

Fans have already speculated that Clint Barton might drop the mantle of Hawkeye and adopt a different superhero identity of the fourth Avengers movie, and now it look like we might have confirmation...

A recent BTS image from the set of Avengers 4 revealed that Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton would be sporting a distinctive new haircut for the Marvel sequel, and this led to speculation that he may also be adopting a new superhero identity.

Now,
MCU Exchange is reporting that this is exactly what's going to happen.

According to the site, Barton will drop the mantle of Hawkeye and become the samurai sword-wielding Ronin. They also hint at some tragic event in Infinity War that becomes the catalyst for this darker version of the character, and although they don't go into specifics, it's probably not too difficult to figure out what that might be.

Take this with the usual pinch of salt for the time being - but it is worth noting that at least some of the plot takes place in Japan, which does gel with this Ronin rumor.

It Appears As If Brie Larson's CAPTAIN MARVEL Has Been Confirmed For AVENGERS 4

We know that Captain Marvel won't be making her presence felt in Avengers: Infinity War but it now appears as if we can expect to see the actress suit up as Carol Danvers in the untitled fourth movie...

Given the release date of Captain Marvel, it was always quite likely that Brie Larson's Carol Danvers wouldn't make an appearance in Avengers: Infinity War. However, the 90s setting of her solo outing pretty much made that official and the signs are now pointing to the movie explaining how she ends up in some sort of stasis and finds her way into the conflict between Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Thanos.

Regardless, we now appear to have confirmation that Larson will appear in Avengers 4 as a photographer - who has been a reliable source of information in the past - has spotted her on set.

What that means for the hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe remains to be seen but Captain Marvel is clearly going to factor into things in a big way. There's still a chance she could be mentioned or teased in Avengers: Infinity War but with Carol embarking on her first solo adventure right between these two movies, it's certainly possible. What do you guys think? Let us know your thoughts below.

Avengers 4 Cast List: All The Confirmed Marvel Heroes And Villains

With no Marvel Studios movies officially dated beyond summer 2019, there is no greater question mark in the franchise world than what audiences should expect from Joe and Anthony Russo's untitled Avengers 4. As the blockbuster follow-up to 2018's The Avengers: Infinity War, there are extreme expectations regarding the various heroes and villains who show up in the capstone project, let alone what to expect the plot to do with all of them. Most answers won't be delivered until after May 2018 when we have a clearer idea of what to expect in the aftermath of Infinity War, but for now the news cycle has provided us some good insight.
Combing the internet for information, we've dug up every confirmation we could find regarding the cast list for The Avengers 4 -- including quotes from stars and filmmakers, set photos and more. We'll continue to update this feature as we get closer to the blockbuster's release, but for now read on to find out which characters have been confirmed for the movie so far.

Tony Stark/Iron Man

It's hard to imagine what the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be like without Robert Downey Jr., as the man has served as the face of the insanely popular franchise for about a full decade. As such, it would have been crazy to leave his legendary take on Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man out of the Avengers 4 activities -- and it seems that's a mistake that Marvel will be avoiding. Page Six has posted images of Downey Jr. on the set of the Joe and Anthony Russo-directed blockbuster, seemingly confirming it as the actor's 10th Marvel Studios film.

James 'Rhodey' Rhodes/War Machine

Don Cheadle's James 'Rhodey' Rhodes a.k.a. War Machine hasn't been around since the beginning beginning, as the part was notably played by Terrence Howard in Jon Favreau's original Iron Man -- but he has been a key part of the franchise ever since Iron Man 2 in 2010. The character went through a big shakeup during the events of Captain America: Civil War, having been paralyzed from the waist down, but clearly that's not going to keep him down. Comments from Gwyneth Paltrow to The Hollywood Reporter reveal that Cheadle has been hard at work on the Avengers 4 set, though obviously we don't really know what to expect from his arc.

Pepper Potts

In case you didn't get the hint from the last section, Gwyneth Paltrow has also confirmed her own involvement in Avengers 4, meaning that we will be seeing the return of Pepper Potts. The character's relationship with Tony Stark over the years has seemingly never been on fully stable ground, but at the very least things were good when we last saw her. The events of Captain America: Civil War saw Pepper and Tony going through a bit of a separation, but Spider-Man: Homecoming showed that they were able to reconcile and get back together. That's a good thing before The Avengers: Infinity War, as they'll need to gain as much strength from each other as possible in terrifying times.

Steve Rogers/Captain America

As the star of arguably the strongest trilogy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Chris Evans has been a pillar of the franchise playing Steve Rogers a.k.a. Captain America, and keeping him out of the action in Avengers 4 would be as misguided as ditching Robert Downey Jr. Captain America is obviously an immensely important hero for the world to have, as he is the leader and plan-maker for The Avengers, and Evans has said that he will definitely be back for the third sequel -- even though he actually had to extend his Marvel contract to do it. It seems like we're always hearing rumors about the MCU killing Cap off, but it doesn't look like that will happen before the end of The Avengers: Infinity War.

Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier

The first post-credits scene for Captain America: Civil War featured Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes a.k.a. The Winter Soldier being cryogenically frozen -- but we all knew that he wasn't going to be staying on ice for too long. The reformed Hydra brainwashed assassin will be back fighting alongside Wakandan warriors in The Avengers: Infinity War, and the actor has directly confirmed to CinemaBlend that he will be back for Avengers 4 as well (though he hasn't actually read the whole script for secrecy reasons).

Scott Lang/Ant-Man

Of all the principal cast members in Avengers 4, Paul Rudd has one of the trickiest schedules, as he is filming the 2019 blockbuster at the same time as Ant-Man And The Wasp -- which is currently sharing the facilities at Pinewood Atlanta. A video from the set of the untitled blockbuster urging donations for Hurricane Harvey seems to confirm that the actor is pulling double-duty, and given that Rudd is one of the most charismatic Marvel stars, this is definitely great news. We don't really know what he's been up to since Captain America broke him out of prison at the end of Captain America: Civil War, but lord knows that if there's any MCU hero who knows how to live life as a criminal, it's him.

Hope Van Dyne/The Wasp

All that stuff we were just saying about Paul Rudd's Ant-Man? That goes for Evangeline Lilly's Hope van Dyne a.k.a. The Wasp as well. She appeared in the same Hurricane Harvey relief video, wearing her new superhero gear, and will seemingly be one of the many who will be trying to take down Thanos in Avengers 4. At this stage we actually still don't know exactly when it will be that The Wasp makes her big screen debut, be it in Ant-Man and the Wasp, or The Avengers: Infinity War, but that's a question that probably won't have an answer until summer 2018.

Bruce Banner/Hulk

Thanks to character rights being caught up in an old deal with Universal Pictures, Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner a.k.a. The Hulk hasn't had nearly as many Marvel Cinematic Universe appearances as many of his fellow Avengers, but that seems to be changing in a big way following the fall of 2017. Not only is he co-starring in Taika Waititi's Thor: Ragnarok, but he will be back on screen a few months later in The Avengers: Infinity War, and then again in Avengers 4. Ruffalo has promised that the big green monster will be going through some major alterations between now and his appearance in the second Joe and Anthony Russo-directed Avengers feature, and we're beyond curious to find out what that means.

Vision

Fans of Paul Bettany's Vision have been fretting about the life of the character pretty much since his introduction in Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age of Ultron, and there's actually a pretty good reason: his consciousness was sparked to life by the Mind Stone -- which resides in the middle of his forehead -- and Thanos is going to need that shiny yellow ingot if he's going to complete his Infinity Gauntlet. As such, we're all dreading a scene where the Mad Titan rips the stone from the android's head... but it looks like that won't be happening in The Avengers: Infinity War. Bettany has let reporters know that he will be involved with the production of Avengers 4, suggesting that he lives past the end credits of Avengers 3. How? We'll have to wait to find out.

Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow

Scarlett Johansson's Natasha Romanoff a.k.a. Black Widow is a character we've grown to love more and more with every appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not only is her fighting style endlessly fun to watch, but her loyalty to S.H.I.E.L.D. and grey-colored ethics have also made her a wonderful foil to both Tony Stark and Steve Rogers over the years. Hence, we're extremely excited that she will be keeping the fight going in Avengers 4, as set photos have confirmed the character's return (and apparently she'll be sporting a beautiful new tattoo on her back).

Clint Barton/Hawkeye

After a somewhat rocky start because of his limited role in The Avengers, Jeremy Renner has become an important part of the Marvel family, and Clint Barton a.k.a. Hawkeye has become a legitimately exciting on-screen presence. He'll be back firing his arrows at Thanos in The Avengers: Infinity War, but Renner has also spoken to his role in The Avengers 4 as well. He makes it sound like Joe and Anthony Russo are keeping him busy down in Atlanta, so hopefully the character will get the full arc he deserves as a founding member of Earth's Mightiest Heroes and a soldier who has helped take out Loki and Ultron.

Peter Parker/Spider-Man

As a way of keeping the aftermath of The Avengers: Infinity War and The Avengers 4 on lockdown, Marvel Studios has kept a tight lid on most "Phase 4" projects -- but one movie we definitely know is coming is a sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming. Coming out during the same summer as Avengers 4, it has been called the "come down" feature following the epic blockbuster that the Russo brothers' title will be, and part of that news came with quotes from studio president Kevin Feige confirming Tom Holland's Peter Parker a.k.a. Spider-Man will be in the fourth Avengers film.

Nick Fury

It has been confirmed that Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury will have a key role to play in Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck's developing Captain Marvel movie, though it's been suggested that he may be sitting Avengers: Infinity War out as a result. Thankfully, it doesn't look like his absence will continue through the events of Avengers 4, as there have been clues spotted within details of the production suggesting the character's involvement in the feature. It's only right that the man who brought the Avengers together on the big screen appear in what could be the final Avenges film.

Peter Quill/Star-Lord

Chris Pratt spent years earning a fanbase playing Andy on Parks and Recreation and small parts in movies like Moneyball and Her, but playing Peter Quill a.k.a. Star-Lord has completely changed his career. He is now unquestionably one of the most popular leading men in Hollywood, and has a nice long future ahead of him in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a result -- including a role in Avengers 4. It's been noted by writer/director James Gunn that the Star-Lord and Company are definitely playing supporting roles in the pair of new Avengers films, but the team will be back in full force in Phase 4's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Rocket

Rocket, brought to life by Sean Gunn and voiced by Bradley Cooper, has what looks like a very bright future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as there are not only the aforementioned Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 plans, but also plenty of buzz about a possible spin-off for the character. He has unquestionably become one of the most popular big screen Marvel heroes, and the great news is that he will be back in Avengers 4 following his appearance in The Avengers: Infinity War -- confirmed by Sean Gunn during an interview with CinemaBlend for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Gamora

Remember that Hurricane Harvey relief video mentioned earlier? It wasn't just Ant-Man and The Wasp who made appearances, but also the deadliest woman in the galaxy. Zoe Saldana is seen wearing her beautiful green makeup in the clip, which combined with the timing is evidence enough of he involvement in Avengers 4. As fans know, she has a key relationship with Thanos, having been raised as one of his "daughters," so it's only right that she see the fight against him to the very end.

Drax

Dave Bautista has now spent years as the secret weapon of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, providing plenty of big laughs, but soon we will be seeing him take his game to Earth. It has been long known that he will be playing a key role in The Avengers: Infinity War, but he will be bringing his game to Avengers 4 as well. The actor has spoken about getting in extra great shape just to compete with what Josh Brolin (who has gotten jacked for his role as Cable in Deadpool 2).

Nebula

A total of four Marvel actors appeared in the on-set Hurricane Harvey relief video, and in case you've lost count we're already discussed Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lily, and Zoe Saldana. The final member of that little outfit is Karen Gillan, confirming that we will see more of the nefarious Nebula in Avengers 4. Her "sister" Gamora and Drax both have very strong feelings about killing Thanos, but they also haven't exactly expressed the same level of passion as the bald, blue cyborg, who practically foams at the mouth when mentioning the Mad Titan's name. Expect Nebula to be a key player in the final act of the story.

Thanos

The untitled Avengers 4 used to be known as The Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 -- and when the change was made, many questioned what that meant for Thanos. Would the Mad Titan still be facing off against Earth's Mightiest Heroes and the Guardians of the Galaxy in the 2019 blockbuster, or would there be a new foe? Most quotes on the matter have been wishy-washy, but the Russos did post a picture of a purple glove on Instagram that many have interpreted as confirmation that the battle against Thanos is a two-film endeavor. Prepare, Josh Brolin fans. More is on the way.

AVENGERS 4 Set Photos Feature A Host Of Returning Stars And A Full Reveal Of Hawkeye's New Look

A new batch of images from the Atlanta set of Marvel's currently shooting follow-up to Avengers: Infinity War have found their way online, giving us a glimpse of Clint Barton's drastic new appearance...

Jeremy Renner recently gave us a hint of the new look he'd be adopting for the fourth Avengers film, and these latest images from the Atlanta set of the Marvel sequel reveal that ol' Hawkeye will indeed be getting a fairly drastic makeover for the follow-up to Infinity War.

A recent rumor suggested Barton would actually be dropping his current superhero persona and adopting the mantle of Ronin, and while that remains to be seen, these snaps do confirm that the character will be sporting a tattoo sleeve on his left arm in addition to that snazzy new hairdo.

The pics also feature Chris Evans, Paul Rudd, a mo-capped Mark Ruffalo and Karen Gillan in full costume as Nebula.

Click HERE to check 'em out, and let us know what you think about Clint's new look for Avengers 4 in the comments below.

The Secret Title of Avengers 4 Maybe Isn’t That Big of a Deal

<img title="" alt="">

Kevin Feige has suggested that the name of the currently untitled Avengers 4 isn’t as big a deal as the secrecy suggests. When Marvel announced their Phase 3 slate in 2014, it was set to culminate with the two-part Avengers: Infinity War event, with Part 1 in 2018 and Part 2 a year later in 2019. There have been several changes to the line-up since then (the addition of Spider-Man: Homecoming after the deal with Sony and removal of Inhumans) but by far the most mysterious was the removal of the duology nomenclature: Avengers 3 alone is now Infinity War, with the fourth currently untitled.
This has naturally led to speculation over what Avengers 4 will wind up being called, and further what the continued secrecy around it means. Feige said back in April that the project was currently untitled because it was a spoiler for Infinity War, although that may not be the full story.

Screen Rant recently sat down with Feige at the Thor: Ragnarok junket and, after he alluded to the film, asked about the real nature of the title, to which the producer revealed that the secrecy was more around keeping focus on Infinity War than it was protecting spoilers:
Screen Rant: You kind of brought up the Avengers coming out in 2019. Avengers 4 still doesn’t have a title. Is title still spoiler-ish? Do we have to get through Infinity War to get that title?
Kevin Feige: Yeah, I think some of that has been blown out of proportion. We do want the focus to be on Infinity War for now.
<img title="Avengers Infinity War SDCC Banner cropped The Secret Title of Avengers 4 Maybe Isnt That Big of a Deal" alt="Avengers Infinity War SDCC Banner cropped The Secret Title of Avengers 4 Maybe Isnt That Big of a Deal" exify_intitialized="true">
Focus is an important factor for Marvel at the moment. They’ve recently upped their output to three movies a year, which means a lot of productions in all manner of development at once. As a result, people are always talking about something related to the MCU, but it’s trickier for Feige to make sure it’s what he wants (this is likely why the Infinity War trailer situation is so delicate). At the moment, Avengers 4 is shooting, which risks the hype machine bypassing Infinity War to the end of the MCU as we know it. Keeping the title away stops it feeling as tangible and all eyes on Avengers 3 (and Thor and Black Panther before it)
It may still be that there is also a spoiler element – he didn’t clarify when it was going to be revealed – but Feige seems keen to point out that isn’t the driving reason. Indeed, if you go back to the original quote about the title being a spoiler, it was an affirmative response to an interviewer’s question and thus wildly open to interpretation.
Earlier this year Zoe Saldana seemed to hint it was known as Infinity Gauntlet and, while that has since been disproved, it’s probably not too far off. Despite losing the Part 1 moniker, Avengers 4 is still being shot back-to-back with Infinity War and shares many of the cast (including, crucially, main villain Thanos), so will still be a continuation of that story rather than an isolated adventure such as Secret Invasion.

5 Most Likely (And Spoilery) Titles For Marvel's AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Sequel

Marvel Studios won't tell us the title for Avengers 4 because it's a spoiler for Avengers: Infinity War but we've now broken down the five most likely possibilities for what it could be called...

The title of Avengers 4 (which is set to be released a year after Avengers: Infinity War) has been a secret for a while now and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has revealed that there are two good reasons it hasn't been announced. For starters, it would be a spoiler for the first of these two movies and secondly, it isn't something Marvel wants out there yet as it will distract fans from Infinity War.

We know most of the cast will be returning for the follow-up and that Thanos will play a role but it's clear the movie's title is very important and will shed some light on what to expect from the plot.

What you'll find here is our look at the five titles we believe are most likely to be given to the Avengers: Infinity War sequel. As well as that, we examine what they could mean for the story and the ramifications those will have on the Marvel Cinematic Universe from here. Possible spoilers follow.

5. Avengers: World War Hulk

Kevin Feige and Mark Ruffalo have both said that Thor: Ragnarok kicks off a three movie arc for The Hulk which will conclude in Avengers 4. We already know that the Jade Giant we'll meet up with in the God of Thunder's solo outing is considerably more intelligent than when we saw him in Avengers: Age of Ultron but what if things take an unexpected turn once Thanos is defeated?

Regardless of whether The Hulk gets his hands on the Infinity Gauntlet or if Earth's Mightiest Heroes do something to cross him (like attempting to leave the always angry hero in outer space), the Mad Titan being defeated in Avengers: Infinity War and the stage being set for World War Hulk in the sequel would be an unexpected and exciting twist. Changes could be made to the original storyline - perhaps a temporarily weakened Thanos will use The Hulk as a weapon - but seeing Captain America and company forced to battle an ultra-powerful version of their old friend would definitely be fun and explains why the title has been kept a secret so far.

4. Avengers: Secret Invasion

Captain Marvel is set to be released after Avengers: Infinity War and will take place in the 1990s. The movie will also be set in the midst of the Kree/Skrull War and with Carol Danvers expected to appear in Avengers 4, there's a very good chance that this conflict will be one Earth's Mightiest Heroes soon find themselves stuck in the middle of. A story like this could still involve Thanos in some capacity as well as the Infinity Gauntlet but bringing this war to Earth and throwing the concept of the shape-shifting Skrulls into the mix would be awesome as there are lots of fun elements from Brian Michael Bendis' messy tale that would work really well in a live-action setting.

This would also go a long way in setting up what's to come in Phase 4 and while a direct adaptation is probably off the table (a mixture of that, the Kree/Skrull War, and Infinity Gauntlet makes most sense), there's nothing to say this sequel couldn't do the tale some justice. After all, containing the Skrulls to just Captain Marvel would be a real waste.

3. Avengers: Disassembled

Kevin Feige has made it clear on multiple occasions that Phase 4 - if it even is a "phase" - will be totally different to what's come before it and you have to believe there's a very good chance what comes next won't include The Avengers. While a new team will more than likely be assembled somewhere down the line, it's entirely feasible we're getting a run of movies where no Avengers exist and that would shake things up for these characters dramatically. It also potentially takes the likes of Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man off the table for a while.

That would be no bad thing, of course, and if it opens the door to the likes of Captain Marvel, Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange getting the spotlight, that's even better. I'm not sure what form this movie could take but it being the story of The Avengers making their last stand from a threat within their ranks (perhaps Thanos will use a Stone to control the Scarlet Witch and unleash her powers as a way of getting revenge) would be a must-see and it nicely sets the stage for the New Avengers to assemble at the end of Phase 4 to usher in a new era of adventures.

2. Avengers: Infinity Gauntlet

This title may not be the most exciting but it does seem like a pretty obvious choice. If Avengers: Infinity War is going to be about Earth's Mightiest Heroes battling Thanos as he and his children look to assemble the Stones he needs for the Gauntlet, then the follow-up dealing with him finally getting his hands on that is a logical next step. The only problem with this is how Marvel can tell a story about Thanos being all-powerful, especially as The Avengers will be so massively outmatched.

Taking the fight into outer space would work, though, and making this a truly cosmic adventure set almost entirely away from Earth as the heroes are forced to take the fight to Thanos would be something totally new for this franchise and makes the stakes even higher. After all, saving the entire universe is a significantly greater task than just the planet we all live on! Zoe Saldana actually let this title slip a while back and quickly denied it and while I'm not sure what about this counts as a spoiler, we should probably ready ourselves for it being the movie's name.

1. Avengers: Secret Wars

I mentioned earlier that it will be tough for Marvel Studios to tell the story of Thanos emerging victorious at the end of Avengers: Infinity War but assuming we get a logical reason for why he can't just wipe out Earth's Mightiest Heroes with a swipe of his hands, what if he sends them to Battleworld instead? As ideas go, this is admittedly pretty far out there but it could work if it's adapted the right way.

Sure, we've seen heroes vs. heroes in Captain America: Civil War but take them and throw some villains into the mix - Thanos could bring back the likes of the Red Skull and Abomination - and this would be a fun adventure unlike any other seen before. It would take a lot of work and we probably would have heard more about casting if this is actually in the works but even if it's like the latest Secret Wars and the world is altered House of M style, the potential for a really good story is there that makes good use of elements from the comics. It would also be a title that generates a great deal of excitement (not that Marvel will probably need it after Infinity War is released).

Will Captain Marvel Appear in Avengers 4? Here's What Kevin Feige Says

Carol Danvers has been a major player in the Marvel Comics universe for nearly 50 years, and in early 2019, she'll finally make her big screen debut in Captain Marvel, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first superheroine-led movie. Captain Marvel is also serving as the penultimate installment of the franchise's Phase Three, with the still-untitled Avengers 4 wrapping up this period of the MCU a few months later. Because of that short period between the two releases, could we see Brie Larson's Carol Danvers participate in the fourth Avengers story after her first live action appearance? For right now, the answer is a strong 'maybe.' Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently said the following:

Really, the focus now is on delivering Captain Marvel and then bringing Captain Marvel's story into the finale of everything we've started thus far.

Marvel hasn't publicly indicated yet if Captain Marvel will show up in Avengers 4, but Kevin Feige's quote indicates that at minimum, the mythos of Carol Danvers' story will play into latter movie. However, before leading into Feige's quote, Indiewire states that Brie Larson will appear in Avengers 4. Until Feige or another Marvel bigwig definitively states that Carol is participating in Avengers 4, this is not 100% official, but it would seem the chances of her making an appearance are likelier than not.

It was revealed at this past San Diego Comic-Con that Captain Marvel will take place in the 1990s, approximately a decade (or more) before the modern MCU era. As Carol's origin story unfolds, we'll see her fighting the shapeshifting Skrulls, as well as share screen time with a younger Nick Fury, who at this point still has two working eyes. Because Captain Marvel takes place at least 20 years before what goes down in Avengers 4, the big question is where has Carol been for all these years? If she does indeed appear in Avengers 4, then we'll finally have that answer, as well as learn how she still looks the same after all these decades. Carol's energy powers will also be most handy against whatever threat the other MCU heroes are dealing with, be it Thanos again or someone else.

Along with spotlighting one of Marvel's most prominent super heroines, Captain Marvel will also help expand the MCU's cosmic corners. While it's highly unlikely that Carol Danvers' movie will be as intergalactic as the Guardians of Galaxy installments or Thor: Ragnarok, Kevin Feige stated that the tale will delve into the mythology of the Kree-Skrull War. It's also rumored that Mar-Vell, who was the original Captain Marvel in the Marvel comics universe, will appear in Captain Marvel, which would be fitting since the Kree hero was directly tied to Carol's origin story on the printed page.

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel flies into theaters on March 8, 2019, and Avengers 4 will follow on May 3 of the same year. To find out what movies are being released sooner than that, look through our 2017 premiere guide and 2018 premiere guide.

AVENGERS 4 Set Pics Seemingly Confirm That Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton Will Take Up The Mantle Of Ronin

Some new images from the set of Marvel's currently shooting Avengers 4 have made their way online, and they give us a glimpse of a very distinctive-looking costume beneath actor Jeremy Renner's overcoat...

We recently reported on a runmor that suggested Clint Barton would be dropping his current superhero persona and adopting the mantle of Ronin for the fourth Avengers film, and these latest set snaps would seem to confirm it.

Since then, we have
brought you some pics of Jeremy Renner looking decidedly un-Hawkeye like, but up until now we haven't had any indication of a new costume.

However, if you take a closer look at the images below, you'll notice what appears to be a black and gold outfit peeking out from the actor's coat. While this isn't proof that Hawkeye will become the far more ruthless samurai sword-wielding Ronin, it is some pretty solid evidence.

Thoughts? Avengers: Infinity War will hit theaters on May 4, 2018 with the still untitled Avengers 4 following on May 3, 2019.

More Flashbacks May Have Been Confirmed For AVENGERS 4 And Some Long Dead Characters Could Return

With Avengers 4 currently shooting in Atlanta, a couple of cast members from a past Marvel movie have been spotted nearby and speculation is now running rampant that they could be returning to the MCU...

Last week, some photos from the set of Avengers 4 revealed that we're getting a flashback to the events of The Avengers. The scenes playing out clearly took place shortly after Loki's defeat but before he's sent back to Asgard and both Tony Stark and Thor were spotted alongside the God of Mischief. Now, there's some pretty compelling evidence that some other familiar faces will return to the MCU.

Frank Grillo has recently claimed that he's going to work with Marvel Studios again and a Redditor said over the weekend that they've seen him on set in Atlanta. As you can see below, though, both he and Maximiliano Hernández (who played Agent Jasper Sitwell was killed off in Captain America: The Winter Soldier after being revealed as a Hydra agent) were at a charity event alongside other members of the Avengers 4 cast. The question is, is that's because they're working on the untitled movie?

It's certainly feasible and these two showing up in the same flashback involving the Tesseract as undercover Hydra agents before the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier makes perfect sense and would nicely tie these movies together with the work done by the Russos on that. We'll just have to wait and see but this certainly leaves us with something to think about! What do you think?

This AVENGERS 4 Casting Call May SPOIL A Major Plot Point For Two Key Characters

A new casting call for Avengers 4 is doing the rounds and there's a very good chance this sheds some light on what's to come for two fan-favourite characters in the Avengers: Infinity War follow-up...

Avengers: Infinity War finished shooting a while back and some set photos which surfaced featuring a very human looking vision kissing the Scarlet Witch got fans talking. The prevailing fan theory was that Thanos removing the Infinity Stone from his head actually turns him into a human and takes away his powers as opposed to killing him and now a casting call for Avengers 4 may shed some light on that.

A new casting call reveals that Marvel Studios is looking for an identical pair of twin boys around the age of two for a two-day shoot. While it's possible that directors Joe and Anthony Russo need just one child and that the twin will only be used if the other child kicks off, there may be more to this than meets the eye. Speculation is pointing to them being the children of Scarlet Witch and The Vision!

In the comics, those two got married and Wanda ended up giving birth to twins (via magical means) and they quickly grew up to become Wiccan and Speed, members of the Young Avengers. Of course, for their children to be two years old, that means we'll either be getting a flash forward or Avengers 4 will jump ahead in time. What do you think? As always, share your theories with us down below.

Two Major Marvel Characters Have Been Confirmed To Appear In AVENGERS 4 Alongside Some Returning Favorites

There have been rumblings about these two showing up in Avengers 4 for a while now but it's finally been confirmed via some very interesting remarks from stars Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson...

For the most part, we already know which characters will be showing up in Avengers: Infinity War and while there will no doubt be some surprises, fans are far more curious about who will and won't be making an appearance in Avengers 4 in 2019! Well, two more characters can now be added to the list and it's about time that we get some confirmation about them showing up in the Marvel sequel!

Talking about what's to come in Avengers 4 from the set of the movie, Scarlett Johansson confirmed that Captain Marvel will be sharing scenes with both Black Widow and The Incredible Hulk.

"We have Brie Larson on this film. She’s here before shooting the stand-alone Captain Marvel movie so we get to watch her get her feet wet for real. She’s so great, but a really cute thing happened the other day where Hulk is standing next to her and Joe Russo told her to put her hand in front of Mark [Ruffalo]’s face to stop him, and she’s like, “In front of his face?” And they explained, “that’s where his chest is,” and she looks up and yells, “I’m new! I’m new!” I’m like, “damn, girl.” It’s very surreal for me to watch these new cast members come in and get their feet wet and breath new life into these characters who are so iconic. I feel a lot of joy for the next generation. It’s a bittersweet feeling but overall it’s a positive one. I feel good about the work we’ve done and the work I’ve done."
So, it sounds like we're definitely getting a passing of the torch. That includes Spider-Man and while we know the wall-crawler will show up in Avengers: Infinity War, there's been some conflicting reports about Avengers 4 and whether or not we'll see him there next or Spider-Man: Homecoming 2.

"I’ve been hugely impressed by Tom Holland and the way he’s handled the transition," Chris Hemsworth says, confirming Spidey's role in Avengers 4 as well as Infinity War. "I didn’t look that comfortable on my first three films. Literally, this is my sixth film and I’m finally feeling like I may be allowed to stick around and stay here. He just came in and had such an ease to his performance."

So, no matter who meets their maker in Avengers: Infinity War, we know that we'll see Black Widow, Thor, The Hulk, Captain Marvel, and Spider-Man back in the currently untitled fourth instalment!

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP Star Evangeline Lilly Teases A Very Different Marvel Cinematic Universe After AVENGERS 4

Ant-Man and The Wasp's Evangeline Lilly talks here about what comes next for the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 and it sounds like huge changes are on the way...

Vanity Fair recently had the opportunity to sit down with Evangeline Lilly to talk about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the actress points to Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 being real game changers for this world. That's hardly a surprise but her comments to the magazine are definitely of interest, especially when she compares the movies to the fourth season of hit TV series Lost.

"When I heard about Infinity War and the direction that they’re heading, I did have this moment of realizing, oh, wow, there’s a bit of a déjà vu for me with the Lost franchise," she teases. "We are hitting that [Lost] Season 4 space where everything’s about to shift, and you’re about to lose the solid ground underneath you. And [Ant-Man and the Wasp], of course, will play a part in that."

Just how much of a shift are we talking about? Well, it sounds like the MCU is about to get a whole lot quirkier as the Lilly points to the next Phase of Marvel movies post-Avengers 4 will be very different.

"Frankly, if it wasn’t Kevin at the helm, I think I would be very, very nervous to be losing these pillars and the people who paved a way for characters like the Wasp," the actress said, hinting at some big character losses in the two movies. "When he walked me through the general story arc of Infinity War, it dawned on me: oh, I understand now, we’re moving into this new Phase. The color of that new Phase can be clearly seen emerging through Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Thor: Ragnarok. It’s just a more colorful, more playful, heightened reality that we’re going to enter."

Does that mean every Marvel movie will be like Thor: Ragnarok moving forward? Not necessarily but it's clear we're about to see the MCU undergo some massive changes over the next few years...
