Default Silver C6 Z06

Driving home from work early in the AM I saw headlights in my rear view that seemed like something fun, as it got closer I started thinking maybe a vette as I could kinda make out the nose here and there. Then it got next to me and I saw it was a Z06. Checked it out and listened to it next to me and I'm pretty sure it was stock or damn near stock.

I let him get a little ahead as I wasn't sure he wanted to play and it wasn't straight road yet. As the road straightened out I heard him downshift (doing about 70) so I did the same. I pulled up to him and could hear he was on it. I moved ahead of him just slightly by about 130, he was maybe at my rear quarter panel. Then by 145ish he was creeping back up to almost dead even and stayed there till I hit my limiter at 155mph and I let off.

Was really a fun run and definitely would love to go again. Not sure how many of those there are in the city so maybe someone knows who it is or maybe they are on here? MO tags headed north after our run.

Probably Chris' Z.

He has two cylinders down and it's in serious limp mode.

I'm surprised he was trying to run it.

Yeah for sure, cause I could never keep up with or stay just a nose ahead of a ~430whp car....

I was headed home from work at 4am. Guess I need to have it mounted and on every time I drive?

New fuel pump coming soon. Should add a little more power if I can get the tune right with 100% E85

Good lord bmw forum people are fucking dumb.

Going on and on about record Z06 times on the track and record dyno numbers and saying no way no how could I hang with one because of these numbers.

Since when did a random street race give two fucks about "fastest lists" and highest dynos.

One guy told me not to go to jail when I said I'll keep racing on the street and he can keep racing Internet numbers. Insinuating it's better to race on the Internet than that uber dangerous street stuff.

Fucking bimmer owners...

Go to svtperformance.com, read the kills section there. Feel better about your brand.

Yeah I guess I'm just used to people that do more actual street racing than bench racing.

All they kept talking about were what my data logs looked like and that the fastest C6Z traps 128-129 and runs 10s so no way I could keep up.

I even said a couple times that who knows maybe he didn't downshift thinking he had an easy kill but he was definitely on it hard. I pulled just in 3rd at the beginning which is where my car hits tq the hardest and anyone who has done a roll against me can attest to that.

I'm sure there are some interesting people on all make specific forum. Damn non-street racers.

That's DEFINITELY not this crowd. Vwvortex and the vw/Audi guys are like that. Don't see anyone in the new gen bimmers like that.

These are all guys that do performance mods just to run logs and dynos and don't race because it's "dangerous" or "you might get a ticket or arrested".

The thing about the CZ06 is that, you can run into one that makes 420rwhp all the way to one that makes 500rwhp with pretty much the same mods...or none at all.

Also...I have seen some fairly meh drivers, running low 12's and even mid 12's on them...trapping as low as 118-120mph...and then you have others that can run high 10's to low 11's trapping as high as 130mph, again with just a couple of bolt ons.

It all depends on who you encountered...

If you are able to hang with one at that rate of speed, that is pretty darn impressive, no matter how you look at it.

That's the part I was happiest about. Once we got up over 100 I was still a little out on him and he didn't start creeping back up till about 140+ and I stop at 155.

This new turbo I've got is flat awesome for just a stock+ type turbo. A few things I'm gonna do to get it at full tilt is the upgraded LPFP and meth kit.

The company I got it from recently installed their first Stage 2 on a customers car, no numbers yet but another company is making 469whp/504wtq with their stage 2 offering and they expect theirs will eclipse that.

Gonna get all my other supporting mods (fuel pump, meth kit, Cobb back end flash) all set and be ready for winter to upgrade to the stage 2. They are giving full trade in price on the stage 1 which is amazing.

what's the stage 2? is that another chra/compressor housing, or the full turbo?

Says extensive turbofold modification so I'm guessing that means it's the entire thing.

That make it more difficult for you?

Supposedly this will be good for over 500whp/500wtq. That sounds really really fun. Just need meth and walbro 450 and I'll be ready for it.

it adds a bit of time, but N55's are fairly painless. it's more so the extra gaskets needed.

need any help with the pump? it's just an upgraded in-tank right? if so, that's pretty easy.

Hmm ok. Not gonna be very soon on the turbo.

Pump, yeah I was gonna get with you about that. It's a bucket swap. Everything is assembled already and just swaps the stock unit for the upgraded. It looks fairly easy but figured if you wanted to lend a hand your level of experience would help immensely.

Same with the meth kit.

Definitely get the lock removal tool when you replace the bucket. I spent over an hour trying to get the ring off without it.

Yeah that's happening for sure. $35 is nothing for the trouble it will save from others I've seen talk about it.

That is unless bimmertech happens to have one?

I don't have one anymore but im sure i could borrow it. Better yet, I'll convince my new job that they need one

Let me know when you get it and your fuel level is around a quarter tank.

Oh and btw, for the bimmer guys that care, or others. The first guy to get the Pure Stage 2 turbo is already out playing around. This thing is an absolute beast.

And for those that don't want to read or click.

He easily walked away from an N54 that made 440whp/470wtq and ran 11.9 @ 118.5mph.
