Default 2013 VW Jetta Coil replacement.

Any VW experts on here? I am going to replace the coil's and plugs on my wife's friends 2013 Jetta with the 2.5 5 cylinder.

Are the coils from autozone/oreilly's/advance auto parts decent coils and plugs?

If not are there local places to get respectable parts for them here in Wichita?

She had it diagnosed by the local VW Dealer here who wants $800 to do the coils and plugs only...

Get em from rock auto.

Denso, which is the OE supplier, is 16.97 per coil from them.

Iridium plugs from there are only about 4 bucks each too. Total of around 100 bucks

I won't put any off brand parts on a german car. OE supplier is by far the best way to go.

pelicanparts.com is another good site, on top of rockauto. They list explicitly which is the OE manufacturer part, which is aftermarket, and they also carry the branded parts (BMW, VW, etc) as well.

If you do a bit of googling you can find coupons for rock auto. I can always find at least 5% off, which usually covers shipping.

Rockauto is listing both Bosch and Denso as the Original part...likely had both suppliers providing the equipment, maybe switched mid year, but Denso is the cheaper of the two by about 5 bucks.
