System Details:

A little bit of a patch job compared to some of the rigs on here, but I used what I had readily available and saved a ton of money when putting this beast together.

AMD 8320 @ 3.691Ghz
8gb Team Vulcan RAM @ 1800Mhz
Vision Tech 6850 x 2 @ 800mhz Core, 1100mhz Memory
4x 250gb Samsung laptop HDD's in Raid 0 at 7200 rpm
ASRock 990FX Extreme3 mobo

Right now it's temporarily set up on a single old monitor (if you don't count the embedded 7" touch screen) so the resolution is poor, but once I get some decent monitors that's going to change.

Just ran 3DMark11 for the first time and scored P4464...

I resused my old hard drive and PSU but I only spent 410 bucks on this PC, my old one I quoted cost me like 800... WTF its almost just as good.

Yes it was early 2011 when I bought the parts but still! Almost half off for the same power in 3ish years!

DayZ, RUST, BF3 time!

3dmark firestorm extreme, typical scores for 3770+780ti all fluctuate around 5000 when running the extreme test at 1440p

http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/72err/

http://valid.********.com/k2hdhp

I'd use the legit version of 3dmark but I don't have time for it to do 3 demos + the tests for all 3 modes. so dumb.

Guess I can't link cpuz validations?

I just wanna see if my 780ti is performing correctly rofl.

Just finishing the OC on my 4770K.

Asus Z87 Sabertooth
32gb G.Skill TridentX F3-1866C8
1tb Samsung 840 EVO SSD
2tb Seagate 7200rpm sataIII Spinner for data
AMD R9 295X (Vesusius) (Stock clocks for now)
Intel i7 4770K @ 4500mHz

2 AIW water loops - one for CPU - Corsair H100i, and the 295 is water cooled with a single rad - I have a push pull on it for extra cooling.

Here are the numbers after the CPU OC session, I got lucky and didn't have to voltage the fuck out of this Haswell, I've also left the TIM stock, no mods to the CPU at all, just good thermal paste.

ADIA-64 Report - Worth the cost IMO, great program.

http://www.meanblueberry.com/BlueBlo...ime=1404650467

I also have another 4770K/Z87 system here, it's exactly the same hardware, except, it's got 2 X ASUS Matrix Platinum 7970's with NZXT adapters and Corsair H90's cooling each one + the H100i on the CPU - so it's a 3 loop AIW system. (It's my spare rig for when friends come over to play BF4, or Titanfall or whatever...)

I'm going to clock it up later today, but it started to flake at around 43X100 - /sadface - it may need a TIM mod to go the distance, or it may need a Devils Canyon...

I'll update as I start to clock up this 295X - it's a monster just running stock. POWER HOGG.

Why did you get a 295x2 when you can get 2 290x for $500 less? Are you limited by PCI-e slots? And 4.5 GHz is very respectable for a 4770k. Without a full loop I doubt you will go much further.

No, you can get 2 290's for 500 less, I got a substantial deal on my 295X - I also plan to go tri-fire using a single 290X.

My reasons were more centered around heat, this all runs in a sealed up case and pushed 3 ASUS VG248's in Eyefinity. They push plenty of heat into the office I'm in already, so management of component heat was a major factor.

My 2 X 7970 rig puts out much more heat than this 295X set-up and the 7970's actually use about 190 less watts under load.

I'm booted and typing this reply @ 4900mHz @ 1.33V - It appears to be desktop stable, and if ti stays on it's feet for another hour or so, I'll give her the overnight prime test, and we may have a "good sample" on our hands.

If it makes 48 or 49 X 100 with the lid on it, I'll de-lid it and go for 5G's

checked the egg's current prices and it would be about $500 more (didn't know you got a deal on the 295x2, where was that price offered?). but i noticed you are limited to only 2 pci-e slots. i had a similar build a few years ago. i ended up with a 6990 + 6970 build. unfortunately, the 6990 was a ridiculously hot card, and i ended up selling it and using the 6970 by itself. plus, running tri-fire back then was iffy with most games. i am sure it is much better now.

good luck with the cpu overclock. most people running a 4770k and h100 top out around 4.5ghz while keeping usable temps and voltage. if you end up with a golden chip, you could always sell it and go for a hex-core 4930k/4960x. if benchmark scores are what you're interested in, those chips always get you higher scores. let us know if you decide to de-lid it. i am very interested in the results!

please do. would you mind running 3dmark11 with all stock clock speeds vs. your overclocked speeds? thanks!

Love this Mobo - hope you do too.

Yes, bench it.

yes - it's gimp'd by the memory bandwidth.

Well, I got it for $40 from my brother so maybe I'll give it back to him and buy new.

No, not at all. I think the only issues I've started to see are the drop in performance with my 840 evo, but I'm running the performance restoration program right now.

just noticed it - you only have one stick of ram. - you need another to enable the duel channel.

Sorry about that, woke up this morning and got some coffee - came in to read up, and just went back to look over your specs, it says 8 gig total - slot 1 8196...thats one stick of ram, almost all "mid range" and up CPU's require 2 for full memory bandwidth.

Can we post 3DMark scores here? Or should we start a new thread?

Same question for VRMark.
