Thats really good to hear. My next step up is 1440p and probably the same GPU as you unless Vega....lmfao, I'll just stop right there.

*Still hopelessly anticipating Vega is actually a decent option*

Look at this magnificent bastard.

GTA benchmarks on the same settings went from average around 80 to averaging 150. Damn near double the frames.

Picked up a Zotac 1080 ti at Microcenter today, was a bit of an impulse addition to my Ryzen build.

I don't have a mind-blowing g-sync monitor, but where I really wanted the horsepower was in VR. And I have to say, compared to my GTX 970, it's like I'm experiencing some of these VR games for the first time again. So smooth, much more detail, and can really crank up the supersampling.

Zotac makes a good card...I hadn't had experience with them previously but I'm impressed now.

This is my first Zotac card as well. Build solid, runs quiet and cool.

Hell of a deal as an open-box item, and can't believe it still came with a Destiny 2 code.

Scooby, what monitor are you using? I want to get away from my Freesync ultrawide and get something with a high refresh rate and g-sync. At least it can run at 75hz rather than 60, but I'd like to go beyond that.

Only thing I'm afraid of missing is the IPS quality, this monitor looks great and to get into a 144hz IPS is more money than I can justify to the wife.

27" Dell 144hz 1440P G-Sync display. I went from IPS back to TN so I could get the G-Sync and the IPS has more pop and much better viewing angles, but I sit with the monitor orientation pretty good so I don't have any real issues with viewing angles. After I calibrated the display to my liking, I've no regrets.

That Dell seems like a lot of monitor for the money. 1440p, 27", 144hz seems to be the sweet spot.

I just tried to buy it and it said it's out of stock. I doubt they'll ship them at such a huge loss.

Tried ordering at the store, they couldn't even place a store order. But yes, the model numbers don't even match up.

Just picked up the Dell S2716DG yesterday, have to say this thing is fantastic. 144hz with G-Sync is buttery smooth, and for a TN panel it looks amazing.

Originally went looking for the 24" version, but I'm really glad I went with the larger panel. It's making the transition away from my ultrawide a little easier.

I just returned a 1080 classified, didn't notice much difference other than noise and temps from 570 2gb sli. Got the classified for 470 but at the end of the day the difference wasn't worth 500 bucks.

Unless you're gaming at 1080p 60hz there should have been a noticeable increase.

2540 x 1080 with 2 monitors, maybe that caused the not so significant difference?

On some games i noticed 30-100fps increase with same details (run pretty maxed out now as it is) , others none. It did run alot cooler, I run my SLI on oven temps pretty often but never have issues. Just didn't notice a $500.00 difference. Probably just going to watercool my SLI setup and call it done for awhile.

A Dell gaming monitor? No thanks, I'll stick with BenQ and Asus.

Tom's Hardware gave a decent review to the Dell S2417DG.

No BenQ's on the G-Sync list.

What's the quantifiable justification for this opinion?

Why exactly is that?

Dell is the only monitor manufacturer I have never had an issue with. I use their Pro and Ultrasharp series for work, and am absolutely thrilled with the quality of this gaming monitor. Plus bonus points for being the only gaming monitor on the market that doesn't scream "I'M A GAMER LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME" it just looks like the same monitor I use at the office.
