Default 2010 SXT Charger and 2006 300C Concerns

A buddy of mine is mulling over a new car purchase decision and he's looking at two vehicles currently. A 2010 SXT Charger with 98K on the dial and a 2006 300C with 68K on the dial.

What specific gotcha items might he be looking at on these two cars?

From what I can tell the dodge has a timing belt on the V6s so I advised having that changed and the water pump, as well as plugs. Also mentioned looking at steering and suspension components on both. Not sure what other problems, if any, these two cars were known for.

Go with the older lower mileage HEMI in the 300c. No brainer. I don't think they have too many MAJOR problems honestly. Search LXforums under the stickies. I am sure there will be FAQ on common problems.

If you were a true friend, you'd tell him to stay away from either of them.

He's shopping in the $10K price range. I feel he has a lot of options in that range. I know he needs 4 doors and his GF is about a 60 mi round trip. He works from home so no commute there.

Yeah, I'm just saying I'd rather spend $10k on an Accord or Camry.

Just me though.

He has an old camry now. He's looking for something with more fun I think.

This. Or maybe IS something.

Wouldn't buy a Dodge, especially pre 2012. Junk cars.

10k is still a nice chunk of change. I wouldn't waste it on the those Chrysler cars. Theres a reason why you see most of them at buy here pay here lots. He could get a nice lexus or acura tl or tsx for that money . Better on mpg and far more reliable then those.

Another vote for a TL/TSX . Better looks (imho), much more reliable, much better mpg. I bet you could find a pretty clean example for $10k.
