Default Need some bushings pressed out

I am replacing the front lower control arm bushings in my wifes '01 honda civic and ran into an issue last weekend. I took it to a shop that couldn't get the front bushings out due to the design of them, they have a metal mushroom cap style end on them. This is what they look like, the right side of the pic...

This leaves it to where you cannot rest it on one side of the shoulders and press it out on the other side like a typical bushing.

I have access to presses but not to the dies to press them out with. This is why I'm wondering if anyone can do this for me? I have all 4 bushings, just need them pressed out and in. I would be able to bring them saturday morning/afternoon or all day sunday if you are open.

Welp, since you mentioned them, I was hoping he'd step in and say he could do them.

Just shoot him a PM. He usually responds pretty quickly.

We should be able to do those, I would need to see them first.

Are these stock LCA's with new aftermarket bushings?

Typically when we replace bushings in stock LCA's, we just replace the whole LCA. The only reason to replace the bushings themselves is to install after market bushings.

On the larger bushing we will cut out the rubber then use an air hammer on the thinner ring to bend it over then push it out. There isn't really a die to push that out. Same with the mushroom headed other bushing. There is no place for a die on the other end so we typically air hammer it out also.

The new bushings are pressed in with a die.

Default Need some bushings pressed out

I have factory replacement bushings to be put back in, Moog. Yes, they are stock LCA's.

If the typical way of taking these out is with an air hammer then I can do that myself at work.

Thanks for the help.
