Default Exhaust Shops around KC

Are there any shops in KC that would be okay without putting cats on a car?

What shop is good with custom exhaust builds?

A lot of the chain exhaust/muffler shops like meineke won't touch it if it doesn't have cats or if you want to remove them. I had big o in gardner cut out some resonators and weld in some different ones for cheap and looked good. I think any of the local go fast shops will build you something, just depends on how much you want to spend.

Would they do "custom work"? Meaning install an exhaust with no cats?

Seeburg Muffler in KCMO installed my tips for me. I talked to the guy for a while and he said they do custom exhausts all the time. I'm pretty sure they don't care about cats.

I like seeburg muffler, but I think they won't do an exhaust unless it includes CATs. I had this problem when I had my old 951. They wouldn't help me fix a test pipe off the car since it would be going on a road car.

no shop is going to tell you over the phone that they won't put cats on, considering it's illegal for them. I'd just stop by a place or two and tell them what you have and what your intentions are, try to BS with them and show that you're cool about it.

Midtown Muffler & Brake

3030 Troost Ave Kansas City, MO 64109
(816) 931-1600

May try them, they repaired my civics exhaust and were reasonably priced (they were doing custom exhausts and things when I was in there)

That's what I would do. It'll cost quite a bit to have a shop put a whole system together for you and fab it up.

Don't have a welder. Plus this will get a little custom with the headers I have. They don't bolt up to the stock exhaust.

you can put it together on the car, mark it and take it to someone to have it welded. I understand, as I couldn't weld it either.

I went there again today. They didn't want to really do it. They said with how big the collector is right now that I will need a reducer and there won't be enough room to install a cat. Without a cat they can't do the work. I asked about changing the collector out on the header and they didn't want to do it.

Is there a shop that would change out the collector? Or is this something I will need to do?
