Default Craps players?

Any craps players here? I just got back from Vegas and got hooked. Curious if anyone knows the local casino's odds & table limits?

Yes all local Casinos will have $5.00 tables. (Not sure about Argosy) Hollywood and Ameristar will up them to 10.00 on the weekends if really busy.

However Isle of Capri is the only Casino still with 20x odds. Harrah's and Ameristar have 10X odds.

Ameristar always has a CRAPS and CRAPLESS CRAPS table open. Isle only has a Crapless table open on very busy weekends. Harrah's I'm not sure if they have a crapless table at all.

Very different from Vegas where you have 3,4,and 5x odds.

Isle of Capri to buy the 4 and 10 you have to pay the VIG up front, Ameristar they take the vig when and if it hits. Harrahs now takes the vig up front as well.

Thanks for the info! Sucks that they make you pay the vig up front. Didn't have to do that in Vegas, at least where we went, but yes only had up to 5x odds.

I might go to Isle of Capri for the 20x odds. Do you know what the odds are at Hollywood?

I didn't get into the crapless craps but it seems be more of like craps "training wheels".

Hollywood and everywhere else is 10X odds. Isle is the only one that has 20X.

Crapless can be amazing if someone rolls a lot of outside numbers (2,3,11,12). Its the same as regular craps, just if you roll 2,3,11,12 your first roll its your point.

I play craps exclusively anymore as most other games lose their appeal after learning craps.

10x odds is pretty solid anyway as it's rare you're going to stack more on an odds bet than that anyway.

FWIW, NEVER PLAY CRAPS ON A CRUISE SHIP. lol I've been on ships where it's 1x or 2x odds only.

I got hooked on it when I won about $3500 in 20 minutes... I have never came out ahead again. It's a win big or lose game for me. Of course I can never leave after a decent roll.

This is the key. ALWAYS leave after a big roll! If you make 4+ points always leave for at least 30-45 minutes or so.

It's rare since I've learned how to play that I've left down. The key to craps is buying in fairly large for how you play and then if you tank for a while you have a bank roll left to come back. It's up and down swings constantly. I bought in $500 on a bachelor party trip in July and got down to $10 + the $50 I had in play and left up $200. haha

If your common bet puts you with $50 on the table buy in with $500. If it puts you in $100 then buy in with $1000, and be prepared to get down low if it doesn't start of smooth.

Did pretty well today. I didn't bet/win a lot, mostly just played the pass so I could practice rolling. My best was a 25 throw roll. Worst was 5. Only had 3 sets roll less than 9 times before 7 out.

I bought some dice online to do some more practicing. I know it won't be the same as a casino but if I can practice setting and releasing that will make sure I am at least consistent up until the dice hit back wall.

Hoping to find someone who is way more into craps than me and has a real table at their house to practice on.

Let me know when you figure out the secret to long rolls.

I know sounds crazy, but I did not throw dice (or play craps) before I went to vegas. My longest roll in vegas was 5. When I was at a table my last day I noticed a guy setting the dice and throwing them a certain way. He rolled for a long time and that is how I made money. He threw quite a few hard 10's and he was betting on them and raking in the $.

I got home and watched videos about dice control. Did some practice with normal game dice (not casino dice) and had some consistency. Applied what I learned last weekend and had a 25 throw roll before 7 out, and my average roll doubled. I don't think that is just luck.

Practicing dice control is not about being able to predictably throw a certain # over and over again, but to minimize the chance of 7 showing. If you have a shooter than can throw 6 times before 7 out you'll make money.

In case anyone is curious these are the videos I watched.
Something went wrong. Please make sure you added the video correctly.

I then used this site to look at the probabilities of the outcomes to understand why one would set the dice a particular way. http://www.thecrapscoach.com/Dice-sets.htm

Last weekend I only used the all-7 set for come out rolls and then the all-hardway set when throwing after a point was established. I might try the 3V this weekend (increases chances of 6/ and reduces chance of 7 compared to hardway set.
