If you are passionate, you will have time. I worked 30 hours a week on top of a full course schedule, and still had plenty of time to tinker with my bikes and cars.

You shouldn't really need a car if you are living on campus. Keep your project car at school and work on the fucker in the parking lot, leave your accord at home. You don't need a roof over the car to work on it. Also, you can always find places with garages once you're finished with your freshman year.

Also, I'm calling bullshit on you paying for your own food. Maybe the couple times a week you eat out with friends... But I know you aren't stocking your parents house with groceries. Not to mention I, along with a lot of people I know, bought their first cars on min. wage, after school jobs. You can't buy it with a single paycheck; you have to learn how to save. You really need to learn the value of a dollar.

L U L Z ............ you srsly know nothing about cars, especially honda. Do some research.

A real honda car nut would take a 4cyl accord over a v6 in a heartbeat. You actually shoudl have bought one if you wanted a car to modify. Go sell your v6 and get a 4cyl one instead.

And with honda getting ready to offer turbo 4cyl get ready to have your ass handed to you by much cheaper, much poorer subway sandwichistas.

Why does your project car garage need to be close to campus? I had plenty of friends that worked part time jobs, went to class, and had time to work on their cars. Money is more of an issue than time. Unless money isn't an issue for you, which could be the case.

If your place doesn't have a garage, look for a place willing to rent out their garage. College towns should have plenty of detached garages that aren't being used.

I work around 50 hours a week, have my kids baseball, and girl/boy scouts to go to, not to mention all the everyday life errands that have to be taken care of and I still have time to mess with my car atleast 3-4 days out of the week.
Like someone else posted, if your truly passionate about cars you'll find the time. But if your just someone that enjoys the "car scene", but doesn't like the time that needs to be committed then building and modifying a car is probably not for you.

Yeah actually, I do know there is a lot more aftermarket potential for the I4. VERY few will turbo a 9th Gen Accord I4. You're right, however it's not realistic.

You know what else isn't realistic? You putting a bunch of money (which you make clear to everyone you have precious little of) in stupid mods into a grocery getter, when you're about to go to college and have (lol, actually, I'm sure you aren't going to pay anything) major financial responsibilities in a few short months.

I love tinkering. I used to race hobby rc cars in middle school and I loved modifying and building them. I had $1000 in one and built it all myself. I have always taken things apart as a kid to see how they work. I just need tools and a way to learn my way around an engine better. I took a small engines class but we went over just the BASICS of small engines.

It's not realistic due to aftermarket tuning support and ecu requirements, has nothing to do with the fact it's a 4cyl. Your v6 is even worse off.

So where are you going to college? Still trying to decide on your offers from Harvard, Yale, Brown, and Columbia?

Oh I definitely know that. I will never turbo this Accord or waste money attempting to.

Not quite that prestigious but somewhat prestigious. I have already picked, but I won't be telling you all.

Yeah turbo 4 cars are too easy to make fast fast. If I was doing it right I would have a manual with aftermarket support. However not to the point where they are common cars, like stangs and camaros.

You're right about most of that. I do pay for at least a meal a day sometimes two. Then the dreaded double price of taking the girlfriend out...

I mean this very genuinely: take advantage of the free food while it lasts. Food is a lot bigger of an expense than you'd think. Eat the free food at your parent's place while you can, and save your money.
