Big D's Burger Shack. Best burger in the area hands down. They also have fucking awesome fried mushrooms.

I haven't really tried anything new lately, but as for right now, I would have to say Harold's Drive Inn on Admiral Blvd. The service is quick. Pretty much in and out. It's a classic. No seats in or out.

They have great burgers and biscuit w/ gravy at a reasonable price.

1337 Admiral Blvd
Kansas City, MO 64106
Neighborhoods: Greater Downtown, Northeast

I think you guys all might find this relevant - one of the projects I work on regularly.

It's a Lawrence program that supports buying locally, supporting charities, and a sustainable economy. Plus it's free and you get awesome $10 rewards

I'll have to try that next time on my way back to KC.

Mine is:

JOCO

Big Bam's Burgers.

5930 Nieman Rd
Shawnee, KS 66203

It's a little restaurant that I've been going to for years now, back when it was named Bob's Big Burgers. Judging from the outside you would never expect this place to make such amazing burgers, but I assure you, they do. Onion rings are delicious and everything is made to order. Fresh ingredients all day everyday. I used to love going to 5 Guys, and still do, but it makes me feel better going to Bam's knowing that I'm supporting a local business and the food is honestly just as good.

http://bigbams.com/

Lincoln,NEB

Tastee Inn and Out

Loose meat sandwiches, onion chips, dip and shakes. Good God the onion chips. Pretty simple food but I will kick baby kittens for a Tastee. Opened back in the late 40's and has been going strong ever since. The boiled ground beef with mustard and pickle is such a simple combination and been done so many times before, but until you've had one, you have no idea what you're missing. If you're in Lincoln any time, it's a sin not to go here.

I feel like the bulk of KC barbecue joints are getting left out.

Arthur Bryant's is fantastic (The one at 17th and Brooklyn), their brisket is fantastic, and their ribs...HNNNG.

And I'm a fan of LC's burnt ends.

Castle Creations

They make electric drive systems for anything remote controlled and really need to work into bigger stuff since they really haven't been beaten by anyone.

Amazingly knowledgeable technical support and always stand up guys to deal with. I want to see that company go a long way!

Do they still make the "Big Willie?" I would have one of those and eat like a king all the ride home from the fort. Large, of course.

Can vouch for this place as well. My dad has lived up the street from this place for ages and I have been going here since I was a little kid. Great burgers.

Broadway and Blackdog are both great coffeehouses, but if you ever get to Warrensburg, you have to try Java Junction. Nothing special about the building, opened in 93, but he roasts his beans every morning and it's out of this world. Corner of Holden St and Pine st. 7a-4pM-F 7-12pSat.
