I was not that impressed by them. I prefer 23rd St. over Freestate.

BOULEVARD. I'm so extremely proud to drink that beer. They are environmentally friendly, they use Ted's Trash. They helped start Ripple Glass, they are NICE AS FUCK, they've paid us in beer before.

Straight up - I love this company.

Ted's Trash has been around since 1960. Just sayin'

Revline- Honestly a great group of guys with great work. Never have had a bad time and don't plan on having one.

Grinders- Bomb food, great atmosphere.

Boulevard- For all the reasons stated above.

The Kansas City Royals and The Kansas City Chiefs

Stonewall. Fucking delicious

I would also put Austin's on my list. Couldn't even imagine how many meals I've eaten there, in the month that I was home for break I probably went there 3-4 times a week.

This one really isn't a secret, or if it is I don't know how you managed to avoid hearing about it.

OKLAHOMA JOE'S BBQ

http://www.oklahomajoesbbq.com/

Kansas location originally opened in August 1996 in a Gas Station in Kansas City, Kansas. They have since opened a location off strangline in Olathe right by 119th St. The food is amazing... order a double pulled pork on texas toast and game over! I don't go often because I would like to avoid type 2 diabetes and live a long life, but when I just need a bbq fix this is the place.

I would give a nod to Okie Joes too, I just feel like its a pretty obvious one though lol. If you've ever been to KC (especially Olathe) and not eaten at Okie Joes the you're doing it wrong

Oddly enough, I've been to the one in Chillicothe. Very good stuff.

Freestate Brewing Co.
Mass and 6th st. here in Lawrence.
Bad ass food, bad ass environment, even more bad ass beer, and great people working and operating it.

OMB Guns

Their law enforcement support is amazing and they are the best guys I have dealt with in the firearms industry for any local gun shop

I'm either good friends or well-acquainted with a lot of their present and past employees. I went to school with a couple of them. Everyone is crazy nice. I dunno if she still works there, but April is getting married to an old friend of mine this year. They make a ton of good stuff, but I'm just not into coffee enough to visit too often anymore.

First place that comes to mind for me is Papu's on 75th and Wornall. It's inside of a Shell gas station. It's middle eastern/Mediterranean food, and the cost-to-quality ratio is off the fucking meter. I get full on great food for seven bucks and some change.
