Default Few shops never fail to surprise

Look, I get it...none of us like to take our vehicles somewhere to be worked on. Who do you trust, who can you count on to update you timely, who is going to follow through on what they say and get the job done right?

I've been intrigued with DIY since its inception. The concept is fantastic, the model is fantastic, and the implementation has been done well. However, as much as I'd like to admit I turn every wrench on my car, I just don't have the time to.

EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I've called DIY I've gotten an answer. Without fail. I think David has gotten to see a side of me that few here get to see. The frantic, OCD, the world is coming to an end, something's wrong and I need it taken care of now sort of side. Well....David not only comes through every time, he seems to understand that side of my personality and finds a way to address it. Frankly, he gets shit done. Are you the kinda person that needs shit to get done?

Go to DIY. DIY, full service, body work, shit's gettin done.

I've always gotten answers right back from him. He's awesome actually. Worked on our Kia and it turned out perfect. Nobody would get my business outside of him.

+1 for DIY. I've had nothing but good experiences there and will continue to go there if need be. Plus, those microfiber towels he sold me are fucking awesome!

I have a couple of shops I use... If I want work done on a BMW, I go to George's Imports in Martin City. They do fantastic work, and it's a lot cheaper than Baron.

If I want work done on any of my other cars, or one of my friends asks for a shop recommendation, I use DIY. David is the man. He's very honest, and he does good work for a good price. Couldn't praise him and his shop higher.

That he is. What I liked is for the timing belt, the gentleman that David brought in to do the work on my truck knew the details of it, the engine code and all, the details of the piston heads having more clearance, how to properly time it using cylinder 1 TDC visuals because there were no crank timing marks.

If I recall correctly, for his full service work he brings in guys based on the need, so you know you're getting someone that knows how to address your problem properly.

The last time before the Frontier that I had him do full service work, it was on my Dad's suburban and it had some problems with the parts used which was no fault of his, but he went through the motions with the suppliers to get his costs recouped to redo the job to ensure it was done right, with no cost or delays to me.

For my frontier, he literally scheduled the tow truck guy, paid him, saw its drop of, inspected, discussed options, then got the timing belt on it next day.

I've taken other vehicles to seemingly reputable performance shops here in town and have had no communication for weeks, then get annoyed attitudes when I follow up or inquire to get information about the work being performed or request ETAs. In my experience that seems to be a somewhat common attitude among small shops. Not so at DIY

He did some work on my WJ last year, and I had the same experience. He brought in a guy that was very familiar with Grand Cherokees to do the work.

Halfway through I started reading in Jimmy McGill's voice.

DIY has done a lot for the KC BMW Club too.

Helped me out when I was in a pickle a couple years back needing tires ordered and swapped on asap (one of my cars gave up and the other car had summer tires on in mid winter). He ordered me a set the next day and got me in asap.

I don't any longer.

We do work on BMW's but don't get into the engine with timing or work with the turbos.

It's been a while since I've been out there but David was awesome to deal with every time I went out there! I enjoyed working on my BMW out there.
