I wish I could get into IPA's, but man, I've yet to try one that I actually enjoy.

What do you usually drink?

Light lagers?

IPAs are/can be a palate killer. Have you tried a black IPA? They have a malty sweetness to them that balances out the pronounced hop and citrus flavors.

I'll pretty much drink anything that isn't super hoppy or super bitter.

Well then you will hate most IPAs, as you have already figured out.

Next time you are in town stop by and I can take you through the whole spectrum and we can see if there is by chance something you like in that style. Black IPA or a maybe something like Blvd Double Wide might be do-able.

Have you tried any of the session IPA's? Founder's is probably one of the best, Pop-Up IPA is pretty good too.

Try the Calling from Boulevard.

I've had a lot of friends that don't like IPAs at all really like it and got them to want to find other IPAs they like.

Same with me. I really like the Belgian Whites.

Hoegaarden
Shock Top
Blue Moon
New Belgium
Goose Island 312

Many others that I can't remember the names of.

I like Fat Tire too.

It takes awhile to get used to a hoppy flavor. I've gotten to the point where I don't really taste the bitterness. It's almost more malty. Once it coats your tongue, then you stop tasting the bitterness and get more of the actual flavors.

Off topic slightly...
Wife and I drove up to legends today and ate at the Yard House location there. Food was great & service was great. Longer than expected wait for a Saturday at 2:30pm (but we were willing to wait because we had obviously heard good things).

My only question was on the meal, the beer seemed pretty high priced for 16 oz.

Wife had a honey blonde I think and I had one from a company out of Fort Bragg, CA I think.

$6.50 and $6.25 for the small size seemed a bit pricey.

Everything else was great though!

I had a good burger and garlic fries.
Wife had a turkey/bacon melt and truffle fries.

The garlic fries were the better of the two and are as close as we have ever had to matching garlic fries from out in California that we always love.

^^^ I'm glad you had a good visit

We are not what I would consider a cheap place to eat/drink....

I'm glad you had a good time though. Hopefully the experience was worth the price as we do our best each and every day to make sure our guests are happy!!
