Default Non Kills for me

So, I find it ironic as in the last month..... Towing my 16 ft boat with my 03 accord 4 banger auto in blue springs (7 hwy and 470) I encounted TWO cars that kept trying to race me. I found it pretty funny.

First was a WRX on 7 hwy south of 40. I'm just rolling along towing the boat. Guy guns it out of an intersection. Gets next to me and keeps revving brake boosting and venting. I just looked over with the WTF look. I'm doing an impressive 2 mph under the 45 mph speed limit in the right lane.

Then later on going home on 470 getting on the highway. A newer evo with dual rear mufflers actually slowed down got next to me and did the same boost/vent thing.

Now I really don't get it. A 03 4 door accord with a boat doesn't scream "race car" to me. Stock wheels/stock exhaust.

That's all. Got really bored and didn't see any kills stories lately.

Sounds like your Accord and boat combo would be a good race for the DRZ

Did h/c/i/e. Should have pulled block out and replaced cam bearings. Now oil looks like a gay parade.
Lots of gold. Off to justins. In the morning for engine pull and off to engine builder.
Damn dod on car wiped a cam lobe and chewed up lifter. Hence reason for putting in cam and other stuff. Damn gm and some of their stupid ideas.

My dad's 08 5.3 ate two lifters at 120k miles.

Yeah. That damn dod sucks. Everytime I'm on a g8 forum there's almost one daily that is starting to fail. So my 4k. I spent on the car is going to turn into 6k fast. Hopefully not more.
I knew I should have took the vette next to her in the car lot. Lol

I'm not sure how the DOD works but it seems a lot of v8s that use it are having issues over 100k miles. Lots of ring problems too right? Guy here at work had a 09 or 10 silverado with a 5.3 and the ate crap right at 101k miles. Of course no GM good will.

Rings with no pressure start to get blow by. The lifters are known to collapse as well, which is what happened to my dad. The amazing part of my dad's problem was we heard some serious lifter noise on a trip to Texas for about 10 minutes, and then it stopped. Truck made it 2 more months before lifters in cylinder 1 and 3 finally gave out.

I know it's a common problem with DoD motors, and my dad says he has read where guys have had it fail at 60k and some that haven't had problems North of 130k. I really think the DoD was my mom's Impalas problem right before she sold it.

I've been giving some serious thought about buying one when I pay the wife's van off at the end of this year. That's kinda disheartening.
So it looks like I'll be leaning towards another SRT. (What can I say, I'm a dodge nut swinger)

Ain't that the truth. Hopefully Karlen you won't get problems soon. I have 136k. When the ticking started. Checked oil. Silver swirl. So basically what I did was spend 4k. To swap silver glittered oil for gold glittered oil. Lol. Torqueburner I would stick with srt. Or you can find a g8 gt with the dod delete and nice cam with other mods. But truthfully I would get another srt.

My dad spent $3500 on his emergency cam. It can be done a lot cheaper than that, but when it's not planned it gets pricey.

Got "Grandpa" back from the rebuild and even got the new wheels on. Now it's 500mi of break in then retune and re dyno. Atleast I don't have to worry about that dod failure crap anymore.

Sorry. I'm not trying to be negative. I just like these types of cars to have some dish to the wheels. It looks like FWD offsets.

No. I agree. I think a set of bbs replicas with the lip would have looked much better. Another lesson learned. Lol
