Default 2nd Navy Destroyer Crash

Any Navy guys/ex-Navy that can explain how this is possible?

2 wrecks in 2 months... up to 17 soldiers dead.

I can't wrap my head around, the Navy not having the tech to see a ship that is two football fields long, being in a line to hit them... what the fuck?

I thought the same thing. Seems like it should be totally avoidable.

I would imagine quite a few people will be removed up to the Admiral ranks.

This is actually the 4th issue in 2017 for the 7th Fleet, they had another ship runaground on a sand bar (USS Antietam) and another collide with a fishing vessel (USS Champlain) <-- this was the fishing vessel's fault but still.

Not sure if its overwork/incompetence or a combination of overwork and GPS/Electronic spoofing?

They're sailors, not soldiers. Last I read it was 10 missing.

I honestly have no idea how someone can make a post about a military incident and not know the difference between a soldier and a sailor. I get it, the military isn't an every day thing for most people, but if you're going to make posts questioning the competence of any of the services, at least refer to the people involved correctly. "Soldier" applies to one branch.
