Default Too many Bees!!

I have an 07 Cobalt SS SC, and after years of having it, the exhaust has got to me. At the start it wasn't annoying because I never had a car that sounded like a horde of bees. Now, after 5 years, I'm sick of it. It's loud inside my car, it's loud outside my car, what can I do to get mellow out the noise.

Different exhaust. I am guessing yours has been modified?

If you want to completely get rid of the sound, go back to stock. If you just want to quiet it down, throw in a resonator or glasspack in addition to the muffler.

I have had a handful of cars that were raspy. I put a dynomax bullet (straight through design) in there. They are fairly cheap and decent. There was still a little drone but the rasp was non-existant. They were all on V8's though.

I would definitely NOT look at Corsa, it's just as "bee-like" maybe throatier, but still quite raspy. I would consider Borla.

WHOOPS, my bad, I always get the two names mixed up.

OP, tbh, the best way to cut rasp outside of puting the stock stuff back on is to throw a resonator or two on your current setup. Keep in mind that it will be next to impossible to remove all of the rasp, though. Ecotecs are simply a raspy sounding engine, and in the case of the lsj, the supercharging just compounds upon the problem.
