Awesome power over stock! Do you have the stock dyno graph? Were you doing an exhaust, too? It was crazy powerful stock - this has got to be amazing! Congratulations!

Mannnn, I'm still waiting on the stock graph from Justune. Haha. I almost didn't want to post anything till I had the baseline in my hands. Tanner said it did +90 whp. But the forums typically won't care until I have both graphs, and rightfully so.

I am very stoked. Thanks.

What would that equate to on mustang dyno? Not at all trying ro be negative. I would be super stoked and am envious for sure. I've just noticed on FB that Justin's end numbers are typically generous comparing apples to apples on forums I follow..

I noticed that too. STD Dyno Jet.

Congrats on the numbers. I take it the cylinder heads are not factory? The ones that have casting issues?

So did you ever get to drive the car when it was stock?

Yeah, we did WCCH heads. Literally the most basic upgrade (more of a maintenance piece at that point) that fixes the valve guides. No porting.

I haven't seen the car. I deployed in early October, and bought the car in late November. Should be home in June. I've probably put about 20 miles on bone stock C6Zs though, including a test drive of an identical car right before I left.

As far as the dyno comments, really don't know what else I can say to address it until I have the baseline. I already made it very clear that the 553/500 indicates very little without the baseline.

I wasnt being negative.

Strictly curious. You are obviously very knowledgeable but I think he has mislead non knowledgeable customers into velieving his hyped numbers for business purposes. I can also see the point of view that its not at all his fault that those customers cant figure it out.

I didn't take it personally, there just literally isn't anything else I can say to address it beyond the scope of what I've already said..until I have the initial chart.

Either way, 540 vs. 550 isn't really that big of a deal to me. I've read about dyno comparisons between Mustang and Dynojet and blah blah all the way back to when I started out driving 1.8T Volkswagens in 2005, I really don't think much of it matters in the grand scheme of things.

Regardless, I will absolutely post up the baseline when I have it.

Something went wrong. Please make sure you added the video correctly.

only thing left is for the forgestars to get in!

Yes because only Mustang dynos are "real" or "not hyped".

I always love watching the bitch fest between dyno types. Seeing people say that dyno numbers are hyped and what not.

Just look at the gains from mod to mod, thats all that matters. That and what it can actually do on the street or track.

BTW, on my previous setup my car only made 15 less HP on a so called "heart breaker" dyno.

Thanks for the reminder, Dustin. I got a message while I was asleep from Justune with the original numbers. 100% bone stock, not a thing done to any aspect of the car.

474whp / 439wtq

Cam/intake/tune netted 553whp/500wtq

So, gain of 79whp & 61wtq. Same fuel, same dyno, same month.

Not bad for the simplicity and money into the motor.

That seems about spot-on, actually.

Do you mind if I ask what it cost, the mods, install, tune, etc.?

And Dynojet is probably the most common dyno so those numbers actually line up with pretty much every other Z06 with similar mods.

Thats why the whole dyno debate is just bullshit dick measuring shit. The gains from baseline show its not just "misleading hyped numbers for business purposes".

Put together a substantially less convoluted build thread over on CorvetteForums, if anyone shows up late and doesn't want to sift through tire talk and dyno questions.

It turned out beyond my expectations. Having built a few of these cars in the 525-535 range with similarish cams and manifolds this one went well above that. BUT cam technologies continue to evolve and this is no exception.

I don't mind at all...but Nick hooked me up with the heads and labor/tune so it's hard to calculate a perfect "off the shelf" overall price.

Parts that we got straight from the source are the cam & intake.

Intake - $535
Cam kit - $955
Tune - $350 I believe is what they list

So, essentially you can pick up all the power over factory that I did for $1840.

Variables lie in your choice of heads (as stated, mine have nothing extra done - simply fixed the valve guide issue.) They list for about $1k. And then install. Mild 2 Wild switch is cheap, and has no effect on numbers, because it's opened up from the factory on a dyno run anyway.

I'd say that my closest guess to a realistic off the shelf price, to do what I did, would be $4k, tuned and out the door. I'd never buy one of these cars (stock) without the expectation to fix the heads, so IMO, it's a no-brainer to do at least a cam and intake just to make it worth pulling the heads off the car.

Feel free to ask anything I may have missed.

I did not say gains couldn't be realized through comparisons.

If you wpuld take a second from.being a keyboard warrior all the time you would be able to track what I was saying. You must seriosuly be miserable to be around. If you don't agree... No sweat but it doesn't make me incorrect. Big numbers bring more customers. He is obviously a great tuner and businessman.

To the OP sorry I apparently brought the drama to your thread. Car looks amazing and sounds even better. Those costs are crazy reasonable. Perfect street car and you don't have to worry about blowing it up.

Cant say it enough... Nick is the best around.

snagged a suede 3lz (my car is a 2lz) steering wheel, very excited for this. probably won't do a whole lot else to the interior.

You tried to suggest he used inflated numbers in an attempt to be shady and generate more business.

There's nothing about being a keyboard warrior by me saying you're fucked in the head if you actually believe that. I don't need a keyboard to make that assertion.

minimal updates

- amber LEDs for the fogs, white LEDs for the reverse lights and plate lights
- matching suede/blue stitching shiftknob
- TR6060 shifter (for the shiftknob)

wheels should be in nick's possession on Thursday. 13.5 weeks later.

I successfully disputed the purchase with my bank, and got all my money back. They were supposed to be 6-8 week delivery. However, the vendor ended up matching a rather insane offer I extended that would keep them coming to me...so they're finally done and in the mail. I can't tell 100% how happy I will be with them, but again...they're so cheap I can afford to not like them and just sell them at no loss.

Nick and I are talking about doing a set of Rotiforms to replace them when I get home. We shall see. Either way I'll run on these while I get used to the car, and take it to AZ/CA/NV/CO and back to Missouri when I get home in three months.
