Found your thread! Looking forward to watching the progress. I saw the 'other' Silver 2007 Z06 in the shop - that one is getting heads, cam, and nitrous. Same car but stock comp gray wheels. Saw what must be kbstang's yellow Mustang - beautiful! Also must have been turbotuner's Z up on a lift - looked great! Car heaven there for sure.

They were getting ready to dyno a blue '08 C6... car looked stock but sounded mean! Then there was an early fifth gen Camaro backing out.. also sounded amazing. Like I said... could hang out there all day.

Keep us posted, and congratulations!

Thanks, Mike. I truly appreciate everything you did to handle a purchase with a guy from 6000 miles away. I look forward to meeting you this summer!!

I have seen really good results with some of the LED bulbs, over replacing the housings themselves. For instance, these: http://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/...placement.html

I think it looks a lot better... much more of a factory look (rightfully so; it uses factory housings), but brighter.

At risk of sounding like a dick, I think the ones you grabbed look sort of cheap. Of course, that is just my opinion and feel free to totally disregard

Hopefully those LED tails hold up. Hear about people having issues with them on the forums. They do look cool though.
http://www.jwmotorsportsllc.com/C6-L...of-4_p_31.html This where you got them? I hear JW Motoring treats their customers well, plus it has a 1 year warranty on them too.

Will keep an eye on this thread since I have a 2010 Base C6. Might spark some ideas for mine.

If you get a short shifter like MGW, I'll take your C6 shifter to try in my C5

I understand hesitancy. I have actually never been one to mess with OEM lighting at all, never done it on any of the 20 cars I've screwed around with since I was in high school. I've seen an oddball review here and there about an LED going out, but otherwise glowing reviews for these. Also "met" a guy on another forum last night who has had a set for over four years with no issues.

I'll give them a shot and we'll see. I personally think they looking fucking awesome lit up, and OEM unlit. I ordered from CorvetteMods.

Haha I don't see that on the radar anytime soon, but I also said I was going to order tires closer to getting home..and "maybe wheels"...and now I've had a Forgestar order in place for two weeks and tires waiting for them.

This car is impossibly clean. Can't believe how perfect the bottom of the bumper is.

Chris, yes, you as well. You're welcome. It was important to us to find someone who would take care of it and enjoy it.

It ought to be clean!!!

Although it did sit in some weather, I am not sure it was ever driven in rain, and I know it was never driven in the snow.

Cool pictures!

tint and roof wrap completed by john off the forums. he tinted my 4runner back in august and does superb work. nick vouched that he does the rear window on a corvette better than anyone, so it took no argument to have him hit this car for me too.

i also wrapped the roof black. this is part aesthetic, and part functional. because i will be using the Sea Sucker bike rack on the roof, which gets removed each time (rather than a traditional roof rack), and to prevent any contact from the bike itself when loading/unloading from damaging the OEM paint. black 3m vinyl.

i went with 20% all around the sides/rear, and 50% on the windshield. when i was originally planning to do 50% on the whole car, i was planning on an OEM look all around. hadn't committed on the forgestars or roof wrap at that point. since i'm going for a little more of an aggressively and clearly modified look now, i feel better with the look of darker tint.

i also had john throw the yellow lamin-x for the fogs on. a simple, low key change.

the car is still at justune/restomof getting the head/cam/tune work completed, so not much else new for now.

Kooks long tubes and mid pipe with stock dual mode mufflers. Add M2W fob and you will love being able to be quiet most of the time and loud and cammy other times.

I'm just doing cat delete and M2W. I don't feel like dealing with the sound and another $1500. I'll enjoy the car as is til I need to pull the heads off again in 15-20k, and deal with the valve springs and can reassess the cam choice and desire for headers then.

I haven't had a car with >300 whp since 2011. It'll be plenty fun.

Mike, thanks!

The guys did do a baseline. I am pretty stoked to get the results back since the car is obviously on the same dyno, same fuel, similar weather, etc etc with the changes.

I don't have the baseline numbers right now but will get all the numbers and graphs when the tune is complete. Tuning starts tomorrow or Friday.

I could not be happier with these results. This is basic 91 octane, no crazy cam, just a simple and effective street car. I can only assume it's going to pull like a fucking freight train.

To recap, because my posts in this thread are a little convoluted.

2007 Z06
- deleted cats
- BTR stage 2 cam
- Corsa intake

That's it. Quiet, effective. Sooooo stoked. Now I just have five more months of waiting to experience it.
