v12s, eagle f1 and nitto would be my short list. I have NT05R's on my oem wheels. They do just fine for when I drive which is only nice weather.
Eagle F1's are not always available and from what I have heard from the higher power guys they don't hook up that well. They are great in the rain though.

Tirerack did a review of the tires in its class and this had the best dry performance and traction, which I'll need.
I have Nitto NT-05 NON DR tire, and it has been awesome. Great price, hooks up pretty good and you can still drive in the rain if you need to. The only thing I would say is they can wear out fast. I have about 3-4000 miles and 1 track day on them and the rears are getting really close to the wear bar. The TW rating is 200. I would love to have a second set of wheels to get a set of NT-01's for track days only and NT-05's for "daily" use.

So, in your professional opinion, PSS and PS2 are either trash, or just tires that the posers put on. Gotcha.

PS - love the car, and more props to Nick, he helped me a ton with selling my '07.

Pilot super sports checking in...

You'll want a tire that will stick in 1st gear to have more fun rolling into it.

My f430 with no torque spins 1st bad with Toyo t1s that came on the wheels

FWIW I have about 10K miles on my PSS with one track day. Still have lots of tread left. Should be able to get another 10-15k miles out of them. That's pretty decent IMO.

Looks awesome, but almost $600 for a CAI?

I don't have anything against PSS. I just think they're a lot of money for a street only car that will see a ton of extended highway driving.

I was able to get a crazy deal on the Ventus. Even if they get blown through, the ability to be throttle happy with them and not be spinning dollars into tire smoke like I would with a PSS will be a fun first set of tires, and I can adjust fire from there.

$535 shipped through a new buddy at a different vendor.

If anyone wants some insight on Parts For Your Car (who I ordered the Halltech from), feel free to avoid them at all costs. Absolute shitbags.

That's not at all what I said.

Basically there are equivalent tires for significantly less money is the gist of it.

I cut 1.8x 60's all day long with F1s in a 4000lb+ RWD shitbox with a horrid weight distribution, but that's only with 380ish rwhp/420ish rwtq.

They handle pretty well in my experience too

A lot of LT5 guys like that tire because it is one of 6 tires still made in a 17x11".

Nothing more to add here other than PSS's are freaking amazing in temps above 65. I had them on my aftermarket rims on the WRX and they came as OEM on my M235. I've had lots of high performance summer tires over the years and these are by far the best in terms of traction, communication, noise, ride quality, weight, and most importantly, wear. You really do get what you pay for with these tires. They stick hard (once you get some heat in them) and they hardly wear. It doesn't seem possible. I will say though, they are frightening in temps below 50 though (especially wet), more so than any other summer tire I've owned. I could light them up in 3rd from a punch at 2,500rpms on most any surface except maybe concrete when temps dipped below 50. 1st is totally worthless and 2nd spins on and off through the entire run to 70ish. I couldn't imagine what they'd be like in a car like a C6Z.

You can put PSS in 225/40/18 on an axle of a Subaru for $30 less than one rear tire on the C6Z. I'm sure you get what you pay for. I'll have a lot more fun not giving a damn about throttle control and blowing through the rears on these. How long does this conversation need to go?

Tires have landed, waiting on the Forgestars.

Yeah, enough with the tire talk. Were all getting derailed here.

Unless your posting pics of the wheels/tires on the car. Or a vid of spinning tires. Maybe a hot chick holding the big round, black, tires.

Haha easy mistake. Bone stock silver Z.

Corsa intake is in, M2W is in, heads are in, cam kit is in. Feel free to scope the car out when you're there, it should be there for 2-3 weeks as I think it's a bit of a backburner job and tune since I don't have any difficult timeline constraints.

Ahh fun fun. Yeah I thought you said you were keeping it lower powered and more track prepped. Going to pick mine up in a bit so I'll check it out.
