So jelly. Wanted a silver c6z so bad a few months back. Nick seems to always be helping people out, you will be very happy with the car.

Thanks. Ironically, you're another one of the guys who inspired my damn near decade addiction to these cars. Back in my WRX STI days, you showed up at one of these wild ass drives that some group used to do out in Missouri, where it was literally like an astronomically unsafe race around Independence and Blue Springs, going up north on the MO side.

I was hauling balls in my STI, and you and your JSB Z fucking flew by my on 291N, just straight up giving no fucks. I was in awe.

Just saw this thread. Already said some things on facebook but my god I didn't see those seats yet. They are perfect. I want them bad!!! Please buy new seats so I can buy those. Lol

As I said on facebook and others said here, nick is seriously such a great dude. It's definitely in the best hands possible.

Looks like you are getting setup with some great parts already. I think Nick wants the heads off my car otherwise I'd say you can buy mine since I'm going with 6 bolt heads soon.

Nice! I'd like to eventually have a C6 Z06 or C7 Grand Sport in the garage. Maybe after I get the SS paid for.

I prefer the lighter tint too. 50% on the sides is about perfect IMO, but with a darker (20%) rear window to help reduce glare from the newer bright-ass SUV/pickup truck headlights. That shit is unbearable to me in my older cars without dimming mirrors, especially the M Coupe. Good thing I rarely drive that car in the dark.

Thanks man. It's a very pretty car, literally had 2k miles on it since 2008. Can't wait to see it.

Nick has a line on a fixed set of non-ported heads in the area that we are doing. It's a pretty mild cam and I'm aiming for longevity. I'll never really get into the serious racing events or anything, so I'll be happy with a lopey idle and being able to blow the tires off on on-ramps with the current build spec.

ordered 18x10 and 19x12 forgestar f14s, in a matte bronze finish.."deep" concave version.

+ 275/35 & 325/30 (oe size) ventus v12 evo2's

i'm sure a lot of people will be skeptical of the color choice, but i am extremely excited to get them on the car.

haha i 100% do - fell in love when i tried it on a whim w/ my 2015 tacoma. love it even more on my silver 4runner. i think this is going to look fucking rad, without looking like some sort of subaru emulation. that is why i've been purposely avoiding anything that is gold/brighter.

we will see. i also have a mental boner of imagining my lifted 4runner towing this thing. weird things happen when deployed

Another reason why Nick is a badass and Restomod is the best shop around IMO
Congrats on the killer Z purchase.
I hope to see it at Restomod when I pick up my Termi Fox.

We need to have some KCSR car shows next year

When I did gold/bronze wheels on my sliver car people were half and half on them. But if you like it, who cares.

Any reason you went with the v12 evo2s over Pilot Super Sports besides price?

Lovely loaded question from a guy who has half of your car modified with replica body parts like a sweet "High-kick performance style spoiler."

I've ran Hankooks v12s evos on a performance car in the past with great results. CorvetteForum reviews were glowing. And, I was able to get these tires for a great deal through TireRack, who doesn't sell shitty products. It includes a two year road hazard warranty, which will be great considering I'll probably drive this car to Tucson and back the first week I have it. I could maybe see you asking your question if I'd purchased Linglongs or some nonsense, but Hankook is not a crappy brand.

PSS are the common old vette guy tire imo, lol. Or the sport cup for the guys that think they "race" their vette that has 500 miles a year on it.

v12s, eagle f1 and nitto would be my short list. I have NT05R's on my oem wheels. They do just fine for when I drive which is only nice weather.

Exactly. Maybe if I was some old dude driving a 911 GT3RS 2000 miles a year, sure. Pretty stupid tire for a street car.

And Wallace, I waited before responding. That was a loaded question. You'll get over it.

I wasn't trying to be a dick. I was genuinely asking. I have the same tires on my 19s. I didn't how well they would do with higher performance cars. I know PSS is the top of line street tire and very popular with corvette owners.

I plan on driving this car a lot, and a lot of that will be legal highway speeds. Lots of Manhattan -> KC, and as I mentioned above, I drive to AZ yearly. There just really isn't a reason to pay $1800 for a set of tires that will wear out much faster during regular driving, in my opinion. Tirerack did a review of the tires in its class and this had the best dry performance and traction, which I'll need.

I must have missed something, but why is the PSS bad for a street car? Besides costing a little more??

Higher cost and higher tread wear.

Like he said, hes going to be putting some miles on the car so he will need something that will last longer.

Default cseaman's 2007 z06 build thread, being completed by b16gsr

I would imagine that throttle control will play more into how fast the tires wear than the tread wear being a little different. At least on the rear of the car. I'm sure it's going to make around 550hp. But yeah, in the sizes for those wheels I'm sure the PSS are stupid expensive.

Halltech intake is apparently out of stock. Ordered Corsa CF that'll be able to get to Nick before the head/cam work starts.
